I can only imagine how great of a teacher you were! My parents passed away when I was young and I had to live with a family that didnt care about me but I kept a good attitude and always told myself life would be better one day and teachers like you showed me how to live life the right way! You give me motivation just by watching your TH-cam channel and your love for cars. I am also a car guy. Amazing story joe... I always tell my kids, never stay in a job u hate, find ur passion and it will never be a job. I should of followed my own advise because the last 20 of my 30 yr career as an over the road trucker I have absolutely hated but at 59 it’s too late to change and to close to retiring. Never ever stay in a job u hate. Glad u are doing what u and Lori were born to do cuz ur channel is amazing.

I just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago looking at potential first cars for myself as a college student when I graduate next spring (ehem used Fiesta ST).
I took many AP classes in high school and having great, dedicated teachers for those classes really made the experience and challenge much better. I appreciate the story and looking forward to what's next!

Man I can understand so well what you're saying because I'm also a teacher, I absolutely love teaching but hate all that 'behind the scenes' stuff. Being in class is definitely the best part. But I also love cars, they're my main passion since I can even remember, and I'm interested in opening a detail garage or something like that one day. Seeing you accomplish what you want by doing what you love it's super inspiring. Thank you for sharing this with us, I believe we all viewers appreciate that.

I never had your class but did go to Ridgewood and knew who you were from school events. Saw this video from former classmates sharing it. I was sad to hear about the school closing. I actually left teaching for the reasons you mentioned. My school was one bad year from being shut down, we were told that we could not fail any student, and the expectations were unreasonable. I love kids, but that was too much. Thank you for this video!

Joe it's no surprise that with the professionalism you show in your car reviews, like your attention to detail, that you were probably an extraordinary teacher and you students were honored to be in your classes. And that the caring you showed to your students was probably much appreciated by your students! Even though it has been 45 years since college for me, even 40 for grad school, I can still remember the great teachers and not so great teachers I had through out the years and how some actually cared about their students and it showed. Your are the type of person who will always be successful regardless of the occupation you choose! Best of luck to you always!

Joe, I just came across this after watching several of your car reviews over several months this year. My neighbor is a 3rd grade school teacher and loves what she does first and foremost for the love of her students and to watch them grow into young adults..a joy shes been committed to now for nearly 30 years...something I know you can fully appreciate and understand.

Follow your passions. The money will follow. That's what we told our kids growing up. And it's worked well for them, even if I didn't quite follow the same mantra. I had to learn it the hard way through the school of hard knocks, ha. So glad you found your passion to follow!

And i agree with u 100% i teached middle school for my 1st year and a half. Then switched to high school. And it's a huge difference.
Obviously it's not an easy job. But dealing with 14-17 years old is so much better

I can relate to you because I had a similar situation (worked some years in something, only to switch to automotive because I needed to be true to myself, I love cars more than anything. Joe, I stumbled upon your channel just one month ago when I decided to be in the market for a new car for myself. I was looking for video reviews about a Honda Accord and I found your channel where you reviewed an Accord LX in the parking lot of the 90% abandoned Piers Shopping Center in Port Richey around the corner from my childhood neighborhood in Westport. I was like "Wow! Small world, that's near my parents house!". I watched and was hooked! Your car reviews are the best, most well produced, and detailed car reviews out there! Because of you, I will be buying a 2021 Honda Accord Sport this week for my 39th birthday. I enjoyed reading and now hearing about your story on how you became a TH-camr. My wife will watch your videos first before she buys her next car in 2 years before we move back to Florida when I retire from the Air Force.

There was a couple who lost their jobs. Like the guy with the sweet buns they had great recipes for pies. They were able to start their own pie business aka Mom's Apple Pie now in Leesburg, VA. Thirty years later they are still in business. May Raiti's Rides prosper also. And you are prospering ---- GT 350R ---- here we come!
