@@qwertyui90qwertyui90 Yeah, just letting you know. Hopefully its not a big deal. Probably just keeps the starter from shaking when cranking the engine? I just bought a new starter for my 300sd and it didn't come with the backplate but thankfully its on my old starter so I can switch it over.

I would like if you could pass the field coil codes to me. brush holder and induced from that start. Of the automatic and the impeller I already found equivalents. Thanks
my starter decided to go out on my 82 240D while riding the highway. it wasn't showing symptoms before of it failing, the spleen on the starter was grinding against the flywheel while i was doing 40-50, smoke was emetting from underneath the car I was madly confused... i thought the engine was about to blow up or something lol
@@note_finger If you need to wiggle the gear selector, it's either the gear selector bushing which is a cheap fix, but a bit annoying to do. Or it's the neutral safety switch itself on the side of the gearbox/transmission. It could just need adjusting, or it could be on it's way out.

at 4:14 there is suppose to be a backplate that bolts onto the back of the starter and bolts into the two holes at the side of the engine at 4:14
