FIRST TIME BACK RIDING SINCE MY SURGERY!!

- I finally got the all clear to ride my mountain bike again and get back to it. It's been 10 weeks of recovery and rehab to get my collar bone back to enough strength to ride properly again. So we went straight to my MTB Slopestyle compound to ride the dirt jumps and airbag and do backflips again. Jamie was part of the crew and is super determined to land a backflip for the first time. Bikes are awesome. Where should we go next and keep the team progression going?

@@AlexBoultz Not to take away from Matt's own stoke, but that was his first action in ten weeks, whereas that was Jamie's FIRST EVER backflip to air bag. The two don't even compare. Matt's buzzing to be back, Jamie will be flipping bikes in his dreams for days on end.
As much as I’ve enjoyed seeing Ben and Jamie improve , it’s legendary to see Matt flying on the bike again 🙌

I shouted "GET IN!!!!", clapped, and scared my 2 dogs when Jamie landed that backflip 🤣 Great to see Matt back in action and all 3 of you having so much fun.
It felt the exact same way, stood up and yelled when he finally made the backflip! I think I scared my neighbors 😐 😕 😅
It's half eight in the morning for me and both dogs are snoozing, so I'm quite impressed with my restraint on sudden, noisy reactions - i managed to channel it into a massive grin and visual rather than audible facial expressions instead!🤭
Matt always says “I’ll build a hand rail at sone point I’m not a complete lunatic” but never builds one😂 fast recovery Matt

I realized near the end of this video that I had a HUGE grin on my face just watching it. Kudos to all the guys. Jamie for doing the backflip, Ben for the 3-whip, and especially Matt, for coming back after injury, doing it, and looking smooth and easy!! Anyone that has come back after injury knows how much of a mental game it is. Awesome Matt!!
Jamie's progression is unparalleled. The way he rides trail looks so natural for the amount of time he's been riding a bike!
Just needs to get that front wheel down

I literally love watching Jamie! I’m too old and broken to ride anymore so just live vicariously by seeing others progress. I wish I had someone like Matt around me 20 years ago, the way he breaks things down into logical steps makes me think I could do it too!

I spent 7 weeks off the bike, and I was exactly like Matt when coming back. Great feeling and I came back on a new bike so much more stoked than it would be possible.
I'm in the middle of a very long process of repairing my flat feet, and it's going to be a total of about 18 months without any serious riding. I'm just soaking in as many bike videos as I can right now, and looking forward to my next rip through the local bike park.
@@danielfloyd9742 talk some more about the flat feet. I have gnarly flat feet myself. They call me flipper.
@@WestCoastMountainBiker I got my left foot done about 6 months ago, and my right foot will be done in the spring. (I don't want to have to use a scooter/peg-leg during the winter here in Utah) They reconstruct 2 bones in each foot to build the arch shape, and then lengthen your Achilles tendon to relax the muscle structure of your foot. It's a brutal recovery. 6 months in I still can't do a full calf raise on just my left foot, but it's getting stronger by the day. I would only recommend this to someone who has a lot of knee, hip, or back pain as a result of flat feet (I have all 3, and at 22 years old, I probably shouldn't), otherwise, I'd look for less intrusive options.
@@danielfloyd9742 wow. Thanks for the info. I struggle with lower back pain and I have a left knee that hinders me time and again, but that is from a skateboarding injury. An orthopedic surgeon also told me about reconstructing the arch but we started with inner soles that were especially made according to my feet. But they are very expensive and my personal opinion is that they don't offer any solution. Damn uncomfortable the walk with too. I'll probably die with flat feet. But maybe we should get some sort of compensation... like disability parking spots....😉

I love when Matt gets the camera, it just switches to the most odd places that Ben hasn't filmed from before! Some angles good, some less good, but non the less its awesome content!
This crew is so good for this sport. You guys deserve all the success you're finding. Really seem like a genuine, cool group of guys. It's especially cool seeing how all 3 of you are at different skill levels. Having beginner, intermediate and advanced riders all progressing together is so great.

Glad to see you back Matt here is a suggestion in order to get the other guys to attempt what you think they are able to do when they fail to attempt it they have to buy you lunch each time. Seriously I really appreciate what you do and what all of you do I always look forward to your videos and it's good to have you back. Tell Ben to hang on and stop throwing your bikes around
