This is such a criminally underrated album. Imo, this is like NIN's White Stripes album. Definitely stripped back, garage sounding, and simplistic. Love this album
Amazing upload. 00:00 1.000.000 04:12 Letting You 08:09 Discipline 12:19 Echoplex 17:09 Head Down ...and for me, the most puzzling question remains: why didn't they recorded the whole The Slip in this session; it would have been absolute awesomeness.
that album would have made A LOT MORE SENSE that way. I like the songs but they felt simply produced...underproduced, even, for trent. Like demos more than finals. But if it were in the context of "band live in the studio. energy over size." i would have looooved it!
Amazing how fluid angry & raw Trent does the vocals. Its hate, love,a hard fuck, pleasure & pain, efficient effortless chaos, madness, insanity, sadness, happiness & divinity almost within reach.Pure art, pure sound,Pure infinite dimensional surfacing beyond time or space.Genius!!!!
He is a pure lyrical and musical genius!! He is probably the only superstar or whatever ya want to call him that would actually make my mind go blank and be absolutely star struck that he if he were to be suddenly standing in front of me!! That would be fucking dope! He is an absolute God at his craft!!!
Such a great set! I love how Trent has to catch hgis breath at the break in 1,000,00 at 2:58. I feel it too. Great song to wake up to!! Josh Freese's drumming amazing and steady as a metronome!
The refrain for "Head Down" always gets me because it reminds me of how I felt when I was incarcerated for a year. This is not my face - I shaved and changed my hair to try and appear sympathetic. This is not my life - I was kind of in denial about where my choices had brought me. I didn't want this to be my life. And there is not a single thing here I can recognize - I was stuck existing somewhere that wasn't home, that was entirely alien to me, with no one I knew to help me. This is all a dream - Sometimes it felt like a dream when you dream of home, but wake up in a cell. I lived in my day dreams because it was easier than being trapped in a cell. And none of you are real - You pretend to be friends with the people there, to get along, but there's no chance I'll be continuing the friendship outside the prison walls. And I'd give anything; you know I'd give anything... - I would've given just about anything to get out of that cell, to see the trees, to go where I pleased, to be with my family. But I knew I was stuck and I was paying for what I'd done. That last line is given so much emotion to it, such aching, to get things back the way they were. I wish I hadn't screwed up as badly as I had; that I could have been smart enough to have taken the chance I had to correct my mistakes, but didn't.
Josh Freese, people!! I've seen NIN live around five times and Josh even hit me in the chest with his stick after a concert. I wasn't paying attention, I thought someone hit me, and I was surprised I saw a drumstick in my hand (I was at the moment holding my right hand on the left side of my chest, on the left peck). It's been a while since then, but I kinda wish that I was a musician at the same level back then as I am today. I would have appreciated his drumming and been much more in awe of this band live than I was. And I loved the show! But I would focus more on the musicianship today, I'm pretty sure.
Robin Finck is so amazing...his hair, his tone, his stances, his movements, his chillness, his whole aura...Man I really believe Trent loves him as a musician but he is also an amazing person. Also, listen to aaaaall his backing vocals.
Every time i come back to watch...as much as listen... My whole existence is uplifted... Everyone in this group...is a fucking legend... Showing how its done.
1994. My first LSD on the "Downward spiral" in the dark, perfect sound with headphones so loud. Was 18, since then I am who I am. And since then I couldn't even describe what this band means to me.
I agree with others here, this rehearsals version of Head Down is better than the studio version. Was lucky enough to see this Tour a couple times across Texas. Trent has, is and will always be my favorite musician and it's nice to see him much happier these days. Just watched the How To Destroy Angels Chicago Show here on TH-cam and I highly recommend that as well if you haven't seen it
Hey Trent Andrew from Cle and friends w/Kevin McMahon. After I saw this live I turned to my girl and said I can't top that, smashing one of my guitars when we returned home. Your performance has always been top notch._
Yes, I'm so glad I bought that!! I still have it, but out of laziness (when wanting to watch it (because its buried in a box), I would normally just try to find uploaded versions of the DVD here on youtube, & until recently, hadn't found more than 1 song's video... but... voila!
straight out of the gate ...right from the 1st fucking note ....Finck is just the most massive guitarist on earth .. even Hendrix just nodded in approval.
the end of Echoplex sends me to another World. all my thoughts, worries and doubts dissappear and I'm just sitting there fully enveloped with the riff. This album is very special to me, however this song is a stand out.
Man… this set amps me up every time! Ready to go fight the world now 💪 powerful as hell, especially since it’s not in my top nails albums. Live it hits different though
Nice and high and far apart Just like they said I built this place with broken parts Just like they said You chip away the old version of you You'd be surprised at what you can do I'm safe in here Irrelevant Just like they said My voice just echoes off these walls You feel me breathe I am watching you I see it all The many ways you can't get to me I see it all I see the hell you put yourself through Oh the things I could do (if I wanted to) My voice just echoes off these walls My voice just echoes off these walls I don't need anything at all My voice just echoes off these walls And I just slowly fade away You will never ever get to me in here
This live set was actually produced by Ken Andrews of Failure, too. I think it sounds even better than the original album. The bass in Discipline is especially good here.
Looking back on “The Slip”, with its raw garage rock aesthetic and being recorded with a live band.I can’t help but wonder what Aaron North would have brought to the table, had he stayed with NIN. Aaron’s old band (the Icarus line) were as dark and grimy as rock n roll can get. Don’t get me wrong, Robin fucking kills it here, but I can only imagine what kind of deranged energy and noise mr.North would have kick out…
Robin Finck's fuzz tone is majestic. Perhaps my favorite guitarist ever.
Hes got a green russian on his board. not sure if thats whats hes using here.
I think the slip was definitely written with live performances in mind. Every song slaps and really let's the musicians jam the fuck out
This is such a criminally underrated album. Imo, this is like NIN's White Stripes album. Definitely stripped back, garage sounding, and simplistic. Love this album
And all recorded and mastered in a week or two I believe
And given away for free.
"This one is on us" the website said.
@@stevenvillines6771 yep. Been that way since napster
Best industrial Band ever
I didn't like it much at first this is the best version
I want the whole catalog of live songs to be performed by this lineup in high quality recordings. This is perfection.
Amazing upload.

Point.
Y las otras, apá?
Would be interesting to see Corona Radiata played live at rehearsal. Or very boring.

I DON’T FEEL ANYTHING
commercial creators don't understand the concept of music

The energy during this set is unreal. Head Down in particular is awesome.
Most certainly! Trying to go back to the album version after THIS version of Headdown just doesn't cut it for me. hahaha
this fucking lineup. I mean, Trent, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Freese, Robin Finck, JMJ. Just stellar
This album is a masterpiece.
Yeah. Sounds like unreleased HL2 ost
Such a great set!
I love how Trent has to catch hgis breath at the break in 1,000,00 at 2:58. I feel it too.
Great song to wake up to!!
Josh Freese's drumming amazing and steady as a metronome!
This performance was always a favorite of mine. No audience, but they don't hold back. Nice to see the people in the crew groovin' in the back

FUCKIN AMAZING. WOW. The drums, the guitars the bass, the synths, the Trent. I'm baffled. Brilliant.
This whole performance/the album is just the best shit. Imagine hearing this live with friends in a garage and it would be amazing!

Incredibly tight. No slouches here.
Epic! A great era of NIN music. So great to see this live rehearsal. 🤘
The Man, The Myth, The Legend JOSH FREESE!!!
Amazing after all this time......never gets old
You know it
NIN got like many sides of music. Otherwise, they're industrial rock gods. Trent Reznor is the god of dark ambient music.
i swear to dog it gets even better
robin with one of the best rock hairstyles of all time.
Every Robin hairstyle is the best rock hairstyle of all time.

It's like Robin wanted to be a death rocker. 😁

Wow! The sound of their music instrument are so sharp! Kudos! 👍
Great upload, Head Down is one of my favourite NIN songs of all time, sounds pretty raw here, sooo cool. Wish they'd play it live more.
Fucking right man.
the chorus is one of Trent's best
I always liked this better than the album version.
Death Cold Beer If only someone pressed it as an unofficial Live release...
Me too. More raw sound and performance
Isn't that kind of what this is already? If you bought the physical copy of The Slip, it has these on an included DVD.
I love the climax at the end of letting you THEY KILL IT !!!
Yes!
THE SLIP is my favorite NIN album, and this is even BETTER than the recorded album tracks!
Really is!
Just heard in a Matt Pinfield interview that Ken Andrews of Failure produced the audio for this. No wonder this sounds better than the album versions.
Failure should open for NIN if they get to touring again…
Echoplex, Head Down, Lights in the Sky... 3 of my favorites. Demon Seed damn good too.
Best band in the world
Love NIN. This line up was one of my favorites
This is incredible. Thanks for this sound guys, you're great!!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷
They're all beasts! Kill it, boys.

Total!
The effects over the drums on Letting You don’t allow you to realize how killer that track was by Freese. Definitely prefer this version.

The video extra stuff is on the nin channel, I think it at least hit HD (720p or greater).
