  • Many asset-backed securities have been downgraded from AAA recently. But at least one issuer has miraculously repackaged a downgraded deal to make some of its bonds worth a AAA rating again. Paddy Hirsch explains. #MarketplaceAPM #AssetBackedSecurities #EconomicExplainers

I really love the fact that Marketplace goes to the trouble of making these video's. It is indeed a great deed to inform the general public of these problems. So thank you!

I suppose I am just unsophisticated, but each and every move that the various players in this whole debacle make begins to look more and more like a garden variety confidence swindle writ large. The larger mass of us are being made to absorb all the pain from this and the perpetrators are not being held accountable at all and indeed in some cases are continuing to bathe their ill-gotten cash. I don't know what the solution of the problem is but pitchforks and fire are a couple of options.

Timeless content, learned so much from u guys back in the day that I'm well prepared in terms of knowledge in investing in any markets, had time to gather assets, got rid of any debt etc....guys like you are the true heroes these wired days, not 8-14.30 teachers, teaching the same bunch of stuff for a decade and longer. Thanks for all your videos !
So we in 2020 and all the same shit is still in place plus everything even more riskier....the only once learning from 2008 is the banks marketing divisions, the give horse shit like CDO a new name, CDO horseshit is now BTO dogshit, so called bespoke tranche opportunity....and as this isn't enough, the sell these now even to everyone who is dump enough to buy it and dumb money is plenty around on these social trading plattforms, where ppl run on tesla stock as they have hear from some magic stock split that makes the 1600 $ stock cheaper with some kind of pickiedust, stock is up 16% on that day....so let another round of madness go down....cards are on the table, this time no one can say he had not seen this shit going down again....

Here you go: For every $10 deposited, a bank can legally lend out $100. That $90 is created from thin air, but it also slowly disappears as the borrower pays off their debt.

Nah just store your cash in your mattress, then you only need to worry about a fire. In that case you should keep some spare cash in your shoe because then you'll be desperately needing a drink!

No, the world has not seen true socialism. The distorted Stalinist undemocratic systems of the former Soviet union etc. were mot socialism.
Go and read a lot more Marx before saying any more.

@tellyontellyon All socities are capitalist.. who controls the capital.. that is the question. You can go and live in a communist or socialist country. You will come back.. people voted with their feet before when they migrated in their masses to America and other countries. You will vote with your feet .. if you knew how.
