nice catches , i have a beaver in the fur shed now the way that was shown with no leg holes . that was a pretty neat trick . i used one with a couple bites in case i messed it up, it was a low grade skin . i can tell you that they dry better with no fatty leg holes . this trick with the bait sticks will get used this season . i have educated a few with castor mounds .
Good idea! I always had better luck throwing my bag out first then pull cable in to where I'm gonna set and stake. If you throw it little further out then pull it in to stakes keeps cable tight. Good luck
I have such educated and leery beavers in my pond that when I put such kind of "bait" they avoid it like a fire. They also avoid all kind of traps and snares as well immediately abandon each location where I put some, runs, holes, trails, slides. I even set under ice baited pole with aspen shaved stick, carrot and couple of snares. These pests didn't even touch it. I have set 14 snares so far and nothing caught for months. I reset them every couple of days, change location with no avail.
