Thank you very much for visiting Cambodia 🇰🇭 so glad you are having a nice time hopefully through your videos more tourists will enjoy this fantastic country ❤
Hey Mike and Ashley, even though I'm not a Cambodian but I'm so happy for your video, and I'd like to express my sincere appreciate for posting these videos here to promote the genuine and kind heart of the Khmer people in Cambodia. People only know this tiny country as a super poor, undeveloped and pond of war country. Yes, it is Cambodia is still a poor country, but it never happened to their Khmer people who is always has a kind heart, even though many nearby nations always want to swallow us and degrading us. Greetings from the Native Khmer in Mekong delta vietnam (aka Vietnamese Cambodian). All the best to your journey ahead, sok sabay!
l have seen many travel vlogs in Cambodia but ur journey here so far has been one of the best can't for wait for the Phnom Penh vlogs (if there is one)

Welcome! Thanks for sharing with the world of Cambodia's Province Battambang. Known for its cuisines, well-preserved French colonial architecture and one of the biggest rice production.😀😀
I was in Battambang in 2001. Took an old train from there to almost Phnom Penh. Rode on the roof too. Finished it by motorcycle and taxi. Loved your video. Best stuff happens by luck. Trust the travel gods.
Awesome Battambang city, Cambodia! Thank you for sharing your experience. The price is right; what a gold mine! It's a very good place for retirement a definition of bang for your buck. Love Cambodia 🇰🇭

Love Battambang! The, the honest friendly people, the variety of food, from local yummy to Indian/italian and Japanese probiotic specialty restos. The circus, street murals and riverside life And glad you made it to Well of Shadows and the sombre awful but essential Killing caves. So sorry you got dengue, it's just awful eh.
I think at this part 11:35, they did mention that, loung or liver were taken from the dead body, cook it and then eat it, because eat anything to survive.

Couldn’t SIEM RIEP a place where you guys have ALREADY have been dagnabbit!!! 😱😁 Jest kidding on ye folks, but it is interesting that is interesting that you have been to every other Cambodian place for a foreigner otherwise!! 😁😁
We’re going to Siem Reap in our next video! We wanted to end our Journey with Angkor Wat, not start it there. 😊 Hopefully we’ll be able to return and see more of the country! The tough part about TH-cam is that the places that get viewed are the main tourist areas where people want to visit, hidden gems are a bit tougher. 🤷♂️🤷♀️
@@mikeandashley Good for you two!! 😁😁Siem Reap is an AWESOME place, you two are gonna LOVE Angkor Wat!! 🥰I myself went there 11 years ago for three days, and not only that, but also had a half a years-long stay long in Cambodia (in 2016, but that came later), so life changes for me!! 😁😁
You brought up the Khmer Rouge twice on this film and this is the untold history about the Khmer Rouge. A family called the Thiounn. On Wikipedia pop up on my computer screen. During the reign of Ang Doung. Vietnam sent a man name Hui to Cambodia to protect the so call Norodom's mother. True or not, keep in mind where did Norodom and Ang Doung reside and what were their activities when they were alive. Hui has a son, and he name him Thiounn or perhaps Trung if the translation from Vietnamese to Khmer, and from Khmer to Romanization wasn't change. The French governing Cambodia was heavily depended on Thiounn. On the public eyes, they were collaborating with the French, but secretly they were funding rebellion against the French. Thiounn then married his son Thiounn Hul to a powerful warlord's daughter of Kandall Province and her name is Bunchann Moly. All five of Thiounn Hul's children held high position during the Khmer Rouge. From Ambassador to the U.N to ministry of education, ministry of health, and ministry of economic and finance. His daughter's husband was also the chief of Khmer Rouge military and at one time was the premier of Cambodia. They were the chief ideology of the Khmer Rouge and what did you get from your tour guide? Please don't insult yourself or the Khmer because the creation of Caodaism only work in Cochin-China and the creation of the Thommayut didn't fool the Khmer.
Greetings from Honolulu. 14 hours ago, I flew Southwest from San Jose, California to Honolulu, flight is full, good and okay, almost 5 hours, the bin is big and almost full, they have USBA and C port, they have wifi, messaging is free and $8 to use the internet for the whole flight and free entertainment and TV to watch, they hand breakfast and water, which is good, I sleep 2 and a half hours, the seat and recline is good and okay, but unfortunately, I feel cramped because the seat width is bad, 17 inches, I almost don't have enough shoulder room to share with my seatmate, I feel a little uncomfortable, but I am okay and the lavatory is little tight, the sink is small and tiny, it's about the size of my hand.
My pleasure. Yes it was a okay flight. Really your from the US, but never been to Hawaii? Best time to visit Hawaii is October or November to February to April when the weather is normal, good and perfect (note, the weather can be unpredictable and the temperature can be cold in January and February for overnight before sunrise, so bring a jacket just in case).
What I'm about to say is going to be very harsh and sharp contrast from what you have seen. It's like a curtain which you can't see through. There are people behind that curtain are some of those Cambodian peasants who are waiting for their opportunity. Khmer Rouge gave them that opportunity. As the result, they killed almost a half of Cambodian population. Those victims are their own people. It was just the name of communism. They want to be equal. That's right. They wanted everyone to be down to their level. That was exactly what they did under the leadership of those who didn't know how to read or write their own language. They didn't have any education. They told us that their school was the rice field. That tells it all.
Have you been to Battambang or planning a visit? Let us know your favorite experience or what you’re most excited about in the comments!

Most Cambodian people are friendly, kind and polite. Still, there are few who try to scam tourists as well. But, it is all good.
We never experienced anything close to being scammed during our time in Cambodia. Everyone was kind without question. 🥰🫶
