    Wear eye protection my friend! My father is an ophthalmologist and he has seen way too many eye injuries. Even deceptively small injuries can leave you blind; don't risk it! Love the content.

    This was an excellent video! I learned how to do it right! Much better than slapping something up poorly, like the job I have to replace. Thank you!

    Good job. I would suggest using deck screws to secure the lattice instead of nails because you never know when you might have to remove the lattice panels to perform some work under the deck.

      Would you drill a pilot hole with the screws?

    If you live in a cold climate. You need to leave room for expansion from frost. If your deck footers are below frost line the deck won't move, but that 2x4 frame he installed touching the ground will.

    The days of hard working men willing to get their hands dirty and for a fair price are over. I'm a woman and it is so hard to find handyman I tend to do everything myself unfortunately but fortunately.

    • @jimmyraysorrells8415
      @jimmyraysorrells8415 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its that "for a fair price" bit that's to blame. You see, most people want to lowball skilled workers. And alot of women think they should get work done at cost, just because they're women.. HA! If so, GET A HUSBAND.. if not, pay my wage. This isn't 1950.

    • @ServantofJesus247

      @@jimmyraysorrells8415 i totally agree. My point exactly. If more men married women and STAYED married and were real men around the home ( and vice versa women played their role) I would not need a handyman as much. Times have changed. Men and women are not doing their part as a Team and when both go solo you have women that have to pay people like you tons of money and men ( maybe not you but like you) that have to eat single man sandwiches or find a woman they can shack up with that will do all the wife stuff

      @@jimmyraysorrells8415 yeah some women want a deal just cuz they are women. That ain't me. And to be fair some men take advantage of women just because they are women so what really is fair? But God sees all of how people treat each other and he will judge the manipulating woman and the man who gets over on women. As a child of God in spite of the way the world is God has taken care of me.

    Should the 2x4 on the ground be “treated”?
    Does that matter?

    • @fritzybrothers
      @fritzybrothers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, any wood outside should be treated and they’re 3 1/2 inch screws.

    No bolts holding those post to the beam supported buy a two x four attached to the post. Even at the building. WoW no bolts holding platform to posts either, must be some real strong glue being used with those nails. Only kidding.
