I think randy knew exactly what he was doing with confusing the brands and models. Both rel and rsl have some budget options and they should both be sending review samples.
You can get 2 RSL Speedwoofers for the price of one micro. What pushed me in the RSL direction was that it had both LFE and speaker level connections that could be used simultaneously. Makes for a pretty versatile sub in terms of setup possibilities.
@@erics.4113 RSL sells so many Speedwoofers they can't keep them in stock. Still, I wish Randy would review one. I have the Speedwoofer 10S MKii and it's great especially for the price.
I used to work with a speaker company in Seattle building their enclosures. As part of my 'payment' they gifted me a 8" one-off prototype subwoofer driver. I did the speaker math and built an enclosure for it and mother of God it was a beast. My normal subs for my home theater were 2 12" 350 watt powered in three feet tall enclosures. This little 8" with a crazy throw in a tiny enclosure (12x10x10ish) sounded better and equaled the house-vibrating of the two 12's. So smaller can definitely be better if done right.
Don't forget the Sunfire sub, it started the whole genre in the mid to late 90"s. I worked at a HIFi shop at the time and Sunfire had a deal where if you sold 12 subs you got a free unit.....I sold hundreds. Got so many free subs that I started to donate them to my friends. Good Times
Thank you for mentioning Sunfire.. I buy broken ones on eBay and fix them. I would put any Sunfire sub against any higher end sub nowadays. They are unmatched.
So they were being sold for 1/12th more than what would have been an already over priced amount... That being said - I should have tried to make some friends that worked at hi-fi shops.
I've never heard an SVS sub that I didn't love. I've got two hooked up right now. Even in a crowded market, their value + quality proposition remains extremely attractive
As a happy owner of an SVS PB 12 sub bought well over 10 years ago, I couldn't agree with you more on the value and quality of this company including an excellent customer service. My sub is fairly large, the settings were strictly manual, is used mostly for home theater, but some music too, SACD/Blu Ray/DVD music and in a very large room with cathedral ceilings and it does a great job. The cost was about $7-800.00 including taxes and shipping, truly great product. Thanks for resurrecting your "vintage sponsor"!
I intend to add the SVS Micro 3000 to my PSB Alpha IQ’s that I’m putting in my family room as I have begun replacing my Sonos kit, starting in that room. Already put a Pulse Flex 2i in the kitchen area in the room (inverted under cabinet, in the corner). I’ll have the IQ’s on either side of the fireplace. Can’t wait to hear this upgrade.
Was looking for a clean setup for the living room, got this sub with a pair of Buchardt S400 + Sonos amp and two Ikea Symfonisk as surrounds and could not ask for more. This little SVS 3000 Micro is such a beast for its size.
I bought 3 SVS SB-1000 Pro's for my large tall living room and couldn't be happier. When friends come over I play bass heavy "hippidy dip" to show them off and they all say it feels like a car audio system. Lol
Great video as usual! I'll refrain from sharing the 43 childish comments that my wife and I came up with about small packages and how far things "stick out" into the room, because I'm a mature adult... I was being sarcastic, where did u kearn that, I learned it by watching you!
You buy a 3000 micro to prevent your SO from mean mugging you. Especially since the SB1000 pro has more output and the PB1000 pro is on a different level but is also huge in comparison. SVS might not always be the best performance per dollar but it's hard to argue with their warranty, customer service, and features (app mainly) all while you can pick one up from best buy. Although one thing is with the dual opposing drivers you essentially get zero vibrations which is great for apartment people unlike most single driver subs.
You brought up a good point about bookshelf vs big speakers. That SVS 3000 Micro looks like a good candidate for a desktop computer work station sound system.
Don't buy a REL without running frequency sweeps through it first. My 12" REL couldn't play anything below 32 Hz without it turning into a distorted mess with a honking resonance at about 85 Hz regardless of the source frequency below 32 Hz. So you play 25 Hz and get a distorted 85 Hz honk as output. Returned it, ponyed up and bought an SVS SB16, and never looked back. Better in every way.
REL should send you the tzero or t5x. Fits into the micro sub and still somewhat budget. I'm using a pair of t7x and they're refined. No bloat or slam, just a smooth, rolling and fast textured bass. I also like kicky slammy bass for some music, the likes of JL audio W7s in my car. But I'm in a shared wall townhome and there's just no freaking way I could not piss off my neighbors more than with some JL subs. I was even concerned with SVS as I know they too can kick and slam and attack far above their price. If you're looking to hear all the bass with superb sound quality and integration the REL should be checked out!
Last year I bought an SVS SB-1000, then 6 months later SVS introduced the SB-1000 Pro. With SVS you can upgrade within a year and get full credit, but have to pay for shipping costs. So after contacting SVS and sending the requested photos, two SVS SB-1000 Pro were sent to me. I sent the SB-1000 back a week later. So much happier with a 2.2 system. I have Magnepan 1.7i 😊
@@orwhat24 two Crown Audio XLS-1002 in bridged mode with a Schiit Audio Freya+ preamp. My system was featured as the "Audiophiliac Viewer System of the Day" on the March 25, 2022 show. I've since upgraded to a Schiit Bifrost 2 DAC.
Upate: I've upgraded to two SVS 3000 Micros. Found two in the SVS Outlet store for $620 each. Definitely hit harder and deeper than the dual SB1000 Pros.
Get the SVS wireless pro prime or prime pro or...anyway - I am amazed by the things - exciting sound, clear not harsh on the treble, dynamics not manufactured by a U shaped output - just seemingly transparent and detailed. They also have a sweet tight bass sound - and I want more of that, and I hope this thing does the trick. A REL t/5x would probably be great, but I'm thinking I want detail and integration, but an occasional kick in the nads. SVS seems very good at that.
I hope REL send you something soon, because IMHO their subs are very good. I got my REL T0 Mk II brand new at an end-of-line sale (they were replaced by the Mk III) for the princely sum of £249 ($312) here in the UK. It is tiny (roughly a 9" cube), but sounds way beyond what its size would suggest. Even the current replacement, the Mk III, is only £449 ($563) in the UK. To be fair, the REL Mk III may be a bit more expensive in the US, but the same goes in reverse for the SVS Micro -- £979 ($1228) in the UK. The SVS may have an app, but the REL is very versatile in that it has several different input types, including the high-level one I use, employing a (supplied) Neutrik cable fed direct from my hi-fi amp's speaker terminals (as REL recommends). You can simultaneously use an AV amp's LFE sub output too -- if, like me, you have a separate AV amp and two sets of front speakers. Maybe, with ingenuity, you could drive the one set of front speakers from both hi-fi and AV sources, both using the sub, though I haven't tried that. For me, AV use is very much secondary to hi-fi. A £200 pair of speakers is good enough for the AV fronts, but I use a pair costing 5 times as much (or 6.5 times as much if you didn't manage to get them in a sale!) for hi-fi. You can set the REL to go into standby (< 3 watts) after 15 mins without a signal if you want, which I do because I don't want to have to switch it off after a listening session. I haven't heard the SVS Micro, and who knows, it may sound better, but I'd never pay the asking price even if it did. For the same price as the SVS I got both the REL and my Earmen Tradutto DAC (which some prefer to the Denafrips Aries).
Put them next to your seat and the sound level will be next level. The size allows that flexibility without moving up to coffee table size sub. Dual drivers should be good for that too. App supports several subs also?
I had one those cheap SVS cables connecting my node 2i and tube dac. One day my dac stopped playing only 192k songs. Swapped out that same cable with a better cable and it fixed the problem. Strange but true!
I'm gonna be honest. The only reason I purchased the SB3000 Micro was because I thought it would be funny paired up to the Magnat Transpuls 1500's.... I find it humorous, anyway. Blends well, and is wicked easy to dial in. And you don't even have to get out of the chair. Even if you need it just for those 20 hard to hammer Hz.
I think my next sub is going to be svs just because of that app. When you're on your 4th back surgery you don't have the ability to fiddle with settings and unfortunately that's what I like to do. I see you have a new addition to the wall, looks good hanging up there. I really enjoy this channel, congratulations again on such a monumental achievement.
I have one SB3000 it is incredible! Start with one you probably won't need a second. This thing shakes the walls in a family room that is open to a large space.
I like a small subwoofer such as this because I just don't want something the size of a coffee table in a sub sitting on the floor. Unlike you I prefer a floor standing speaker, so I'm already using a lot of floor space and small works better for me. I have just never heard stand mount speakers that have the sense of scale a good floor stander has. Maybe they are out there, but I haven't heard them.
SVS sub is double the price in my country for some reason ,while REL has only slight increment in price. Taking in account for the high customs duty in my country that bump in price is normal. I can buy 2 REL T5x for the price of one SVS 3000 micro.😅
I couldn't say Rel 3 times in a row really fast but my neighbor's dog had no problem. I hate that dog. This was an excellent video. I have been in a tizzy for some time over which sub to buy. This was a big help. Way to go Chief!
KEF kc62 is a better subwoofer. The svs sb3000 micro does not dig sub 30 hz. I auditioned both subs in stereo (2 subs) and returned the svs. Bass quality and articulation in kef is on another level and imo, it is worth the price.
Some months ago I got a truly micro sub, Cambridge audio Minx X201, which is quite good value in my opinion. For us in small spaces, I think it adds a lot of richness to a stereo setup at a very low cost. Not that many meaningful reviews here in TH-cam and would be cool to hear you impressions. Awesome channel!
Had that sub myself. Not very musically accurate or quick. It had a lot of rumble and seemed geared more for HT explosions than notes from a string bass. Passive radiator subs like the minx are like that however.
Great Zoom call last night! I ordered the Emotiva A2m today AND (you are correct!) I got a military discount. If any of your channel subscribers are on the fence about it, I got a lot out of last night’s Zoom call and I think I’m only scratching the surface.
Didnt knew SB1000pro was Your recommendation oh audioman, picked it up few weeks ago, happy, but sealed sub is somewhat new to me, so I need to setup it right, I guess
Still rockin a BIC F12 i got on amazon $185 in 2013. Only 150 watt but it's not failed in anyway in all these years and SubEQ on the Onkyo 6100 made it better. Tempted by a SVS or HSu but am fearful of going sealed after having ported all these years. Monoprice M-12 THX is sale for $800 right now... Sounds serious at 112 Lbs. vs a 42 lb svsPB1000.
Just a imo thing. I had dual svs pb1000 and went to dual HSU VTF-2MK5 and Im glad i did. I know it is a sin but i think svs is overated in comparison to what HSU has. You could check out Randy review on Starke subwoofer as well. Their 15 is reasonably priced right now for what you get.
The SB-1000 is legendary and super reliable. Used it in my office for several years. Has amazing punch 👊 but also manages to blend in well with the main speakers.
The SVS micro looks cool, but I agree, 2 SVS SB1000 pro subs would be a better choice. As for me I actually ordered 1 SB 1000 pro initially for a modest home theater application, but had to send it back to SVS because I realized by going sealed I needed another SB1000 pro to get a deeper impact in movies. Music on the other hand, the SB 1000 performance was its strong point. SVS has such great customer service, they let me send it back and I tried out the PB1000 pro this time…and for movies-wow! No comparison. If I had unlimited funds, I would like 2 sealed SB1000 pro’s for music, and maybe 1 for theater stuff. But for now since I’m a CheapAudioConsumerDude, the PB1000 pro is as good as I can afford. At least if you ask SVS they ship the PB1000 pro with those Squishy foam plugs…and yeah love the App-wow what a game changer.
I had the SB3000 Pro and after a few weeks, returned it. I did not like how the SVS sounded. It was EXTREMELY powerful (especially for it's compact size), but it seemed to overpower music, even after adjusting settings. I have a much cheaper SE8 that, to my ears, sounded better
I would like to hear what the cheapaudioman thinks about the "classic" cheap for real Polk Audio PSW10. It's been around since "forever" and is still going strong. Is it good or just good because cheap?
Ayyy, I have one of those in my living room. Sounds great. They have overwhelmingly good reviews. Not the most super-ultra-deep couch shaking bass, but more like a no-frill, get the job done type of deal.
@@chrishernandez2490 I do not think I would be allowed putting an earth shattering sub in our living room. And I would NOT be allowed to spend $800 on one either! :)
I can’t help but wonder when SVS is going to add automatic subwoofer integration in the app on at least the iPhone. Theoretically, it can be extended to all phones by including a microphone evaluation/calibration feature in the app. Heck, there are many subwoofer tone generator and spectrum analyzer apps out there. Why not integrate those into the SVS app? With this, you could get 90% of the way to perfection. My guess is that they are already working on it.
Hey Big Randy - I was sub shopping last month and picked up the REL TZero over the SVS. I paired them with a set of Kef Q150's - Bangin'. That high level output (speakon) connector makes a huge difference. Cheers!

Great review! Thanks for the info. I have a Jamo Sub650 that I am looking to replace with the SVS micro 3000. Do you think the SVS will be much better than the Jamo? 4x3 size room
I bought a Solid PB100 (a re-badged B&W) at a yard sale for $7. It's not going to blast you out of your chair but it is more friendly to music...and did I mention it was $7?
Where have you guys placed your sub? I’ve settled for nearish field on the same plane as the speakers. Found this best for music rather than in the corner which I found too boomy. Out front, the bass is tighter
REL does seem good, especially for music and its the music and vocals in movie soundtracks that I love but... I'm not buying the REL because it can't be controlled by an app and I need to remotely pref turn off or turn the sub right down because most of the time, the subwoofer would be too disturbing for everyone around me.
Question I have small room like 12 X12 . Which subwoofer is better. I do movies both streaming, and physical media. I have a record player and will have a cd player at some. I would say music gaming would be 70% and 30 music. i am thinking about svs micro but I would not be able to get two right know.
I don't know if you will see this but I was a winner of the SVS powered speaker but have not received or heard from SVS just seeing if you had a update thanks
Or, just use towers + sub, which is nearly universally better than bookshelf’s + sub. Or, get towers with built in powered subs, a la Def Tech’s or GoldenEar’s or Infinity’s or Aperion’s etc
Since the subs fire out the side is it going to be bad if it sits next to something like my tv stand? I currently have a aSB1000 and def tech 800’s and curious if it’s worth the upgrade. Really like the app feature.
The micro probably would have made my wife happier, but the PB 1000 pro is in the basement. It's in "my" side of the room. The app is amazing, and that alone made it worth it over the non pro 1000.
I have a question, I’m trying to look for a small subwoofer that I can put into my Winnebago Revel to make music is a VERY small space (Mercedes Sprinter Van 144). I have a pair of PreSonus Eris E4.5 “studio monitors” and I’m trying to find a good sounding very compact subwoofer I can add to them and continue to make music in the van. PLEASE let me know if you have some suggestions, I’ve searched and had to come to you since you’re the guy! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
A little birdie that owns a KC62 and a pair of Micro 3000's told me that the KC62 obliterates the pair of Micro 3000's for low level listening. It has more extension and detail retrieval at lower levels.
These small subwoofers are all about form over function, because for 900 bucks you can get so much more performance out of a 15-18" sub. So I like your initial comment because first and foremost - these are for people that want a SMALL sub and are willing to pay extra for more performance in that small package.
Perhaps true if you want the room to shake when you watch movies. But I heard that small subs, 8 - 10 inch will be faster than a 15 inch sub. So for music, I think smaller is better. I have a Rel t5x and I have the gain set to about a third to fill out the low end on my Elac ub52. So there is really no need for more power unless I had some huge speakers I think.
That's not really true. Think about it - nobody with a really high end system where space is not an issue is choosing to limit the drivers in their subs to 8" because they're "faster".
@@redstang5150 There are people who stack 2 or 3 Rel subs with 12 inch beside each speaker. At $5500 a piece that must be condidered high end. Of course there are probably very fast high end subs that have big driver size, with powerful amplification and perhaps some tech that helps the membrane to move faster. It doesnt mean that a $800 18 inch sub will be as fast as a $800 10 inch sub.
I had been looking for a new subwoofer for the past 3 months. I really wanted the new RSL Speedwoofer model. Small in size and from the specs and reviews it looks like a winner for musical applications. Issue with those is they sell out quickly. Next up I started looking at the Micro by SVS. Only concern I had was placement. Where was I going to put this sub that has woofers on opposite sides? With the layout of my home one of the woofers would have been closer to a side wall than the other side. Not sure how that was going to effect the overall frequency response. So I ended up ordering the SVS sealed 2000pro first to give it an in home trial. I never sent it back, I thought it gave me what I needed, same price as the micro at the time. But I am still curious as to how the dual 8 inch Micro would have worked out for me.
Same here on the placement for me. One of my spots is between a media cabinet and a dog bed, so I'm leaning towards combo's of down/front firing/passive rad/slot port, stc.
Actually, NOT having low frequencies emanating from equal distances from the walls is much better. Equidistant, both drivers would be exciting some of the same frequencies that the room dimensions emphasize and cancel. Subwoofer placement can be a real challenge. The opposing-firing drivers, although only about a foot apart, can make preferred placement of this subwoofer less of a chore. Besides, personally, I'd prefer to have that beautiful cabinet staring at me than the grill of one of the drivers.
@@Ratboy1 ok, I understand what you are saying. I definitely agree with the aesthetics of seeing the nice side of the woofer box..I would prefer that as well. And although I was concerned about this Equal-distance you pointed out I was more concerned of one of the woofers frequency's bouncing off one of the walls. I won't even try to pretend I understand how low frequencies work/sound the best when adding wall or floor reflection. What I do know is that for me woofer placement is hard. I would prefer the look of the micro over the standard somewhat larger sub boxes. But the sealed front facing SVS was the easiest to deal with. First time I've ever been able to put a sub up front with the speakers and get good sound/response, my rear ported sub sounded best way off to the left side of the room
Great review Randy, and what your telling me is this SVS Micro Subwoofer is smaller than my Proel Flash15 subwoofer (17" x 22" x 24" 70lbs)? Does that also mean my girlfriend won't think it's a end table too?
Thank you my good man for such a great review. It really stinks that TH-cam has the option to like or dislike your videos turned off I will always like your videos Cuz you’re cool dude
When I first seen this I thought oops the cheapaudioman must have dropped it because of the dent in the grill. Then I seen the other grill was the same LOL. Very neat little sub though the price is a bit steep for me.
Awesome review man! Discovering this brand introduced me to the world of "real" deep bass capable subs. Ditching my overpriced Klipsch subs that could barely manage 35hz (for PB-1000 pros) was the best and most fruitful investment I've made in this hobby in a looong time. Love how you've grown the channel! One of the best parts of this hobby is that joy of discovering new things and this channel really has that feel. I can't wait for you to get the home theater itch 😆
I'd love to see if any of the compact subs out there can match the bass detail and accuracy coming from the Criton 1TD. Can it blend in without muddying up the notes and drawing attention to itself? Inquiring minds want to know.
Glad to see you reviewing quality compact subs. They're a great compliment to bookshelf speakers, filling out the sound without adding bloat. Love the channel amigo. Keep grinding!
I've been considering purchasing a pair of these for a while now for my small 13 x 11 listening space. I have a pair of REL T5/i subs with 8" drivers in boxes because they had a hum that I could never get rid of and they drove me crazy. They were the right size for my space, so I suspect the SVS Micro's would work very well too. The bonus with the SVS is the app, and if they don't hum. (I have a pair of Tekton M-Lore floorstanders but I'd like some more bass).
Did you ever contact rel? My t7 pair had a slight amount (not audible unless you went right up to the driver and put your head in front) and it went away completely with my new amp. If yours hum when the amp is off, though, you are somehow getting something bleeding into the speaker cable or ground loop that you may want to correct regardless of which sub you go with.
Small sealed subs are excellent for music, and with enough power are good enough to rumble the T-Rex in Jurassic Park. Cambridge audio minx subs are what I use; SVS is two-to-three of mine in terms of price. If I followed that with “cheap”audioman would you know I’m just rubbing ya’? Here’s yer upthumb. I’m just rubbing ya’. Edit: I wrote ribbing. It autocorrected to rubbing. I disavow any freakyness inclined towards neckbearded audio rapscallions.
@@jetfansuperd with the sub shoved under a desk, I’ve found you can get away with about anything tiny. I’m using a fostex from eBay, but I’ve been pleased with Cambridge stuff, and happy enough with Boston acoustics and even a sub borrowed from a $250 Logitech kit. Being able to tune cut off’s and match volume is the most important. But the fostex six incher from eBay rocks plenty for games and casual desktop listening.
Thanks I was thinking Cambridge. I have a Dayton slim model that can go under desk or chair or the long way against wall. But have not hooked up yet. Svs that was reviewed sounds great but I would not get a 100 bottle of wine for a 20 dollar meal. Wife would strangle me lol
If you ever get a chance to compare a REL to an SVS you will immediately notice the REL has a flatter response. It's amazing what it'll do for music. It's hard to make it sound "boomy." That said they sound anemic for movies. REL's just don't offer that widow rattling bass presence like most subwoofers do. IMO they both have their strengths but they are in different areas.
I'm looking for a super portable sub under 30 lbs to move around the house/backyard/park, with my small PA speakers which I would line out from. Playing outside is challenging and that is where I would need the most volume. I realize that piano gloss will scratch easily for this type of use but I'm super careful with my gear. I have a pair of Bose S1Pro's or a single EV Everse 8, I would pair it with. Both can play about 100dB max even though I don't push them to their limit. Would the SVS Micro keep up? I know it doesn't have the mid bass punch of a live PA sub. I'm looking for something to play tunes on that is super light weight and able to play audiophile music cleanly to about 25Hz. I wouldn't use this for any type of live performance. What do you think, is it worth the $900 investment?? I already have a SB3000 that I love, but that 50 lbs monster stays put in the Man Cave.
Hey cyber buddy...think you're getting your Rel's mixed up with your RSL's. RSL makes the Speedwoofer. On another note; I bought RSL CG-23's and think they sound great with my FB marketplace Yamaha RX-A760 ($290 CHA-CHING). CG-23's were $200/ea, but discounted to $160/ea if you bought a few for HT. Maybe a worthwhile video topic. Also favorite SW choices to go with this small mixed music/HT system. I'm probably leaning towards 2 SE-8's, but also another good video topic, IMO.

Ya that’s a potent little beast! Maybe not the most articulate bass but for movies it can kick ass for a 8” sub in a tiny box.✌️🤟🔊
I have the Micro 3000 paired with the Emo B1+'s and Loxjie A30 and absolutely love the sub with that setup
I bought 3 SVS SB-1000 Pro's for my large tall living room and couldn't be happier. When friends come over I play bass heavy "hippidy dip" to show them off and they all say it feels like a car audio system. Lol
My Martin Logan 800x is 13.7 x 12.4 x 13.1 inches...fills a room very well and uses ARC room correction software...also only cost me about $600 new
Love those small little subs that deliver big bass
They are best for music. Same with all sealed subs. They look great with bookshelves
Great review! I used some Sith Audio wipes myself this morning. I got a deal. $99.

You brought up a good point about bookshelf vs big speakers. That SVS 3000 Micro looks like a good candidate for a desktop computer work station sound system.
The 3000 Micro can pressurize a living room, so...
@@photobriangray So did a JL Audio Dominion d108 subwoofer that I heard not long ago. I was surprised.
I have Magnepan 1.7i 😊
What are you powering all that air moving equipment with?
Nearfield sub placement is a secret many buyers know nothing about.
I had one those cheap SVS cables connecting my node 2i and tube dac. One day my dac stopped playing only 192k songs. Swapped out that same cable with a better cable and it fixed the problem. Strange but true!
Finding this channel has been a blessing. Awesome content.
Just purchased 2 of these subs. Cant wait to hook them up. Once i fly home in a week.
Steve Martin in The Jerk had a “special purpose”. I don’t remember him talking about needing a subwoofer though…

Svs return policy is great, but the upgrade program is phenomenal!
Mentioned in your video review..but REL and RSL Speedwoofer 10 are two different companies. I can see where the confusion comes with similar names.
Dual 1000pro vs Dual 3000 micro vs SB 3000. Which would you choose for a small room?
I have one SB3000 it is incredible! Start with one you probably won't need a second. This thing shakes the walls in a family room that is open to a large space.
Just got a SVS 1000 Pro delivered this week (Memorial Day Sale). Love it.
Would love to see you get your hands on a Rythmik Audio L12 subwoofer - Rythmik is another direct-to-consumer US based shop (Texas I think?)
I am in the UK and the Rel Quake is a nice 8 inch subwoofer.
Kef R3
SVS sub is double the price in my country for some reason ,while REL has only slight increment in price. Taking in account for the high customs duty in my country that bump in price is normal.
I can buy 2 REL T5x for the price of one SVS 3000 micro.😅
I couldn't say Rel 3 times in a row really fast but my neighbor's dog had no problem. I hate that dog. This was an excellent video. I have been in a tizzy for some time over which sub to buy. This was a big help. Way to go Chief!
I use a car audio stuff in my home system, Kicker square solobaric in a BIG box, and kicker amp powered by computer power supply.
I have the SB1000 Pro and, for my space, I can't imagine needing anything more.
Great review as always Randy.

RSL makes the speedwoofer. Rel makes fantastic subs. Svs does as well. They are different sounds.
My sb1000 is the most important component I've added to my system. So I don't doubt that this one is also awesome.
I will stick with my emotiva SE8 for my desk setup and my SE12 for my HT setup. They do everything I need them to especially at this price point.
I was told by svs that you don't even need to mess with the app. If you have a receiver, stick to the defaults 120.
I would like to hear what the cheapaudioman thinks about the "classic" cheap for real Polk Audio PSW10. It's been around since "forever" and is still going strong. Is it good or just good because cheap?
Yes
Ayyy, I have one of those in my living room. Sounds great. They have overwhelmingly good reviews. Not the most super-ultra-deep couch shaking bass, but more like a no-frill, get the job done type of deal.

Yeah well said about the SVS with your phone.
I wonder how this would compare with a Paradigm Seismic 110?
REL does seem good, especially for music and its the music and vocals in movie soundtracks that I love but... I'm not buying the REL because it can't be controlled by an app and I need to remotely pref turn off or turn the sub right down because most of the time, the subwoofer would be too disturbing for everyone around me.
Question I have small room like 12 X12 . Which subwoofer is better. I do movies both streaming, and physical media. I have a record player and will have a cd player at some. I would say music gaming would be 70% and 30 music. i am thinking about svs micro but I would not be able to get two right know.
Musical, nice features, deep bass and punches way above its cabinet size. Confirmation bias giving you a view for your stats.
For movie use you recommend a small to medium room but not a large room. How would you define those different size ranges in sq ft?
Since the subs fire out the side is it going to be bad if it sits next to something like my tv stand? I currently have a aSB1000 and def tech 800’s and curious if it’s worth the upgrade. Really like the app feature.
I debated with myself for months about the SVS SB-1000 Pro vs the RSL Speedwoofer 10s. Finally got the RSL. Love it. But, they're a toss-up for me.
But, the SB-3000 Micro is a horse of a different color altogether. If size is a big factor, it's a winner. But it's not for everyone.
I havent even watched it yet, but have been saying for this as we Both have the SB100 Pro then I got the micro, she's a beast!
The micro probably would have made my wife happier, but the PB 1000 pro is in the basement. It's in "my" side of the room. The app is amazing, and that alone made it worth it over the non pro 1000.
How do they compare?

15 - 18" is a joke - nothing less than 28 - 47. is worth sh*te. My cat's head exploded, but I didn't really like him.

You should've gave nemo a shout out, a bit of love he is the sub man.
@@B.A.Bassangler I know what you mean. Just stay away from the rear ported boxes like you said.
@@Ratboy1 I still have a lot to learn when it comes to home audio subwoofers

When I first seen this I thought oops the cheapaudioman must have dropped it because of the dent in the grill. Then I seen the other grill was the same LOL. Very neat little sub though the price is a bit steep for me.
I have a dual SVS SB 1000 pro some people telling me it’s better to get 10” subwoofer for two channels music what do you think?
Awesome review man! Discovering this brand introduced me to the world of "real" deep bass capable subs. Ditching my overpriced Klipsch subs that could barely manage 35hz (for PB-1000 pros) was the best and most fruitful investment I've made in this hobby in a looong time. Love how you've grown the channel! One of the best parts of this hobby is that joy of discovering new things and this channel really has that feel. I can't wait for you to get the home theater itch 😆
I read through all the comments and was very surprised no one commented on that fine mess cover reducing air flow. Hmm, am I not thinking straight?
If it goes up to higher frequencies then a stereo separation could be utilized I figure.. anybody use subs in stereo ever?
I'd love to see if any of the compact subs out there can match the bass detail and accuracy coming from the Criton 1TD. Can it blend in without muddying up the notes and drawing attention to itself? Inquiring minds want to know.
Glad to see you reviewing quality compact subs. They're a great compliment to bookshelf speakers, filling out the sound without adding bloat. Love the channel amigo. Keep grinding!
Hi thanks for u video which sub svs 2000 pro or svs 3000 micro you recommend with my klipsch fives ??
B&W make a similar dual-8 compact sub, but it's like 3x the price of this, so it's probably academic to compare them.
The 3000 sounds like a great fit for higher priced desktop. Mine is only 300.00 powered speakers. Hard to justify 900.00 sub.
Would this be an improvement over a ml dynamo 700?
If you have the DX3 Pro+ lying about? You should try the BT with Amazon HD. Sounds better than the Wiim mini (IMO).
They’re sealed 1000 Pro looks promising for music. I would want two of them though. LOL
Just get the new RSL Speedwoofer, it's alot cheaper and not that much bigger....
