You are doing exactly what I had hoped to do before the commitments of being a family man took hold, bravo from an envious new sub. I have been one of those pain in the arse holiday makers but I also do sail so I aknowledge that the vast majority of the hire boat tourists have not got a clue and feel your pain. Your videos are thoroughly enjoyable thank you for the insight into what may have been.

Thanks but things are never quite what they seem. I have to make some sacrifices to do this.

fantastic!! Thankyou for doing all these, it must seem a bit of a chore uploading these and editing etc, so i want you to know how much we enjoy them. Watched them all start to finish recently, (many for the second or possibly third time) looking forward to the next. Cheers. james

Thanks for the catch up. I imagine some boats that are left in during the winter months must suffer damage when the river ice is that thick..

If they don't winterize they can expect anything.

Just watched all your vids over 4 nights. I have been going broads for 41 years (I'm only 42) my dads being coming even longer and we are in a house boat a Moon boatyard Stalham in April and then hiring a boat from richardsons in June. Hopefully our experience will make us more responsible hirers. Hope your well and will give you a toot if we see you.

Most subscribers seem to favour the longer videos, however general TH-cam audience seems to favour short ones.

Unfortunately the rubbish issue is not just on the broads it seems most of the road verges in Norfolk are full of litter lately. Take a look on your next walk or drive

Maybe you could try using wetter wood. It might take longer to burn and not burn as hot, putting a lot of energy into getting rid of the moisture in it.

Burning wet wood clogs your chimney up and is dangerous

You'll find it a lot easier cutting unprocessed wood with a saw with bigger teeth...even a £15 folding camp saw..
The hatchet is bad as metal handles change the balance & little axes are more dangerous than longer ones....wood handles absorb impact rather than sending it through your arm...
Split with the grain & sharpen the axe to keep the convex shape sharp...
Never hit an axe with a metal hammer or you'll bend the cheeks & the head will loosen...use a wooden mallet or log.the impact will push the axe through better rather than bouncing off effect of metal.
Hope this doesn't sound bossy or judgey it's using them tools look obvious but there are some good tips to make life easier.
    Thanks for the video..

It is all flat out now to get to a new destination. I have liked it up here as moorings are in no way a problem at all.
