As an American, I look forward to visiting England-land so that I, too, can admire the beautiful scenery from the Maud!

Hi Tom. Lovely video. I skippered the Wherry Albion in the late 90s my 'boy' was a chap named Ray Sonman who was in his seventies. He taught me all I learned about wherry sailing and quanting although we had a pusher engine on the dinghy. So glad you experienced the serenity of Norfolk and this type of sailing. Keep well and keep vlogging.

A littany of stupidity and deliberate neglect. Thank the restorers for preserving another piece of our amazing industrial history.

Fascinating film Tom. I first came across wherries and Thames Barges in Arthur Ransome's Coot Club, atmospheric evocation of sailing on the Broads back in the 30s. In fact, how about giving us your thoughts about the best sailing literature? Best John

There were many wherries sunk on Ranworth at that period. I can remember crewing Albion for Vic Dow, sounds better than it was for it meant young men could use their muscles on the winch, and as we entered the broad he would point out the ribs of sunken hulks and chant the names - I recall the Doris and the I'll Try amongst them.

A lot of men needed to hoist a sail on a boat of modest size but the mechaniical needs to power the boat is efficient. An interesting concept but ridiculoust.
