I remember being absolutely fascinated by Tim Curry in Wil Shakespeare (1978 BBC) probably in my last year of high school. Then only catching RHPS in 1980 or 1981, 5-6 years after it came out. Good actor, but he aged out of heartthrob status pretty quickly after that. Saw him in Times Square (1980 movie) and almost didn't recognise him at first especially out of fancy dress and tights.
Yes it makes me sad too. His acting, actions , and vocal talents r completely unfathomable. His voice was so crisp. It's crazy if u think about the this storyline, but if u just enjoy the music and praise this craziness and participate, than it's the best thing to ever experience .
My stepdad showed me pictures a while ago of him dressed in drag. It looked eerily realistic (in the sense of femininity) and he explained to me that he wore that outfit with his friends every time that they went to the cinema to watch RHPS. He apparently got hit on by MULTIPLE dudes. It was a very good bonding experience, and it helped us bond.
Step parents and step kids often feel like the world is stacked against them. Family dynamics can be so cruel. I’m glad you had that fun bonding experience, and I know he is too! And Tim Curry would have been happy to know that as well.
I absolutely ADORE Tim Curry -- so sad to see him confined to a wheelchair. He is one of the greatest actors of all time. I agree with Carlise who says Tim Curry should have a star on the Walk of Fame. If I knew how to start an online petition I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Stop using shitty ableist terms like 'confined to a wheelchair'. Wheelchairs get you out of the house and enable you to travel and do almost everything a walking person does. There's nothing 'confining' about them. We disabled people don't want your pity.
Hey jsyk "confined" to a wheelchair is broadly considered a vaguely shitty thing to say. They're not confining, they're liberating! (otherwise he WOULD be confined - to his house, exclusively). Wheelchairs are a blessing, & if our society wasn't designed to be so inaccessible, they wouldn't "confine" you from anything!

True story. When I was young I went to RHPS live production in a local theatre. It had many of the original cast, including Tim Curry. At the show I was one of the few who sat right up the front, and when Tim chased his creation, Tim stopped, looked at me, sat on my lap and pretended to kiss me (his hand was over my mouth), AND then winked at me on stage! Was a pretty incredible moment looking back, something to treasure.

i had the pleasure of meeting barry bostwick in person at summercon 2023 and he is SUCH a legend!!! he gave a dear friend of mine a comically oversized jar of pickles

This movie is one of my great memories of cinema experiences. Went to an all night showing in the tiny old cinema in Windsor with my brother and a bunch of friends. Thier was a scattering of fans shouting at the screen and throwing popcorn etc. Fabulous experience!!

Omg it would've been freaking epic af to be there when Richard O'Brien introduced Tim Curry and he walked up talking about how he is the only one there that doesn't look like him. It breaks my heart every time I see Tim now he was my first childhood crush when he played Rooster in Annie, that was my favorite movie as a kid in the 80s and he is still one of my all time favorite actors being in my all time favorite movie Rocky Horror Picture Show, I saw it in the early 90s when I started high school and have been a die hard fan since the very first viewing. What I wouldn't give to be able to meet any or as many of the stars of this movie, I'd die a happy person. DON'T DREAM IT... BE IT
Love this movie and Love all of the cast. A film which I watched as a young 13 years old and still watching, seeing the stage shows, gone 50's now. A film full of fun, joy and happiness.. Continue to make me smile and laugh forever and ever. Even my now grown children caught the RHPS Bug.
First saw RHPS when it first came out in the 70's and been a fan ever since even though I'm now in my 60's....got my grandkids into it now..they love it
"WOW a well hung navel base you call that well hung? must be a virgin stop you may be ruining it for (semipopular person)" will always be my favorite audience participation moment :D
I remember the first time I saw RHPS I was 6 years old and I couldn't sleep, my older brother was watching it on TV so I watched it with him not knowing what it was about, I just loved the music. My mom caught us and started chewing out my brother. He told her to relax I didn't know what was going on, then he gave me a look and said 'well she might know now.' I had to wait until I was of age to watch it again lol. But always will love this version above any others.
First let me wipe the tears from my eyes. At the very end she says ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and they all say TIM CURRY made me cry what a guy. Saw this on my 18th birthday ( now 64yrs old) had to go back the next weekend too convince myself I had seen what I saw, and I WAS HOOKED. Best scene in the entire movie for me is when Frankenfurter comes down in the elevator until he goes back up. Fan me off, give me a cigarette and I'm good, don't even need to see the rest of the movie, but of course I do.BIG BIG BIG FAN FOR LIFE!!!!
i don't remember the last time i watched anything to do with rhps on youtube but this came up on my recommended and i just wanna say thank you bc his is my favourite film of all time and i've never seen these behind the scenes clips before
My most watched and participated in movie ever @ over 350+ shows back in the 80s. I have been a long time fan of Tim Curry's musical career and acting career. Even to this day, if I hear his music, I have to sing along with him. As for the whole cast, I love them.
One of the best classic movies of Etc. And still today. When I was a kid I went to a theater and I saw it and it was awesome. Everybody got up everybody was in costume it was outstanding!
I watched this when I was 9, On the opening night of Channel 4 in the U.K……and I knew then I wasn’t alone anymore ❤ I got to met Richard O’Brian many years later when I was a stage manager and told him this, he was an absolute peach 😍 xx
One of my all time favorites ❤ there’s a clip in this video of Barry Bostwick singing Once in A While at a Q & A event in my hometown- I was there and it literally moved me to tears to hear him sing live!!!
I'm a bass player. I've playerd bass in the pit orchestra in a few local theater groups' productions. I never really liked the music all that much (and I've done Fiddler on the Roof to Cabaret, to Chicago, etc.), but I always loved the RHPS soundtrack. Finally, a few years back, One of the theater groups decided to do RHPS and asked if I was interested. We had a pretty good band, and I got to play the entire sold out run, and to this day, it has been one of the highlights of my "career".
skeeter197140, a slight correction, if I may. If the theater group was doing it, they were doing RHS (Rocky Horror Show), the stageplay. RHPS was only the movie.
Tim curry is so great. Yes he needs a star in Hollywood. He is so great in everything he has been. God bless him, sorry I heard of his stroke. Wish he be still acting he is so good 👍
First time I saw it was at the local midnight movie… I was 12 years-old at the time. I felt so grown-up. So glad I was a child of the 70’s and had parents who didn’t know any better. It left such an impression on me in the best way possible. ✨🖤✨
I absolutely lost it at the end💔😪 I hate seeing Tim like this😪 My grandma and grandpa introduced me and my cousins to this when we were little and it was a family favorite❤️ Sadly my grandma who absolutely adored Tim passed away due to her stroke that left her whole leftside paralyzed💔😪 Sure hits me hard in the gut seeing him like that and knowing how he has to be feeling and his loved one's🫂 Give him that star before it's too late Hollywood👏👏👏
not gonna act like it’s not hard seeing tim like that at the end, but he will forever be a legend, not only for this movie, but *especially* for this movie. i hope he knows how many queer lives he’s helped empower to not just dream it, but to be it.
Not just Queer or any other of the chosen labels of the "Community". He changed perspectives on freakyness in general. That will always be a special empowerment for Me, You and so many others that felt like the oddball for whatever imagined or deliberate reason. Long live the Freaks.
Awesome, thank you for reminding me of something that had such a profound effect on my life, that I actually referenced it in my Senior eulogy quote for the yearbook! We only had like, 75 or 100 characters to sum up -in total, our high school years. So we abbreviated everything, didn't use spaces or punctuation etc.,&it was tough to squeeze in everything that meant something to us. So for me to include RHPS, you know it had to be important to me! Part of my senior memory/eulogy read: RHPS Pas! (A friend from school who introduced me to RHPS).. I used to have the whole soundtrack on cassette & I still love the music from it.. & I'm 56!

Hearing where Tim got his, "let me show you arrrroueeendd maybe play you a souuueeendd" was magical ❤
Loved this. I guess Brad was a bit cooler than I thought... Tim was just getting started with the make-up wearing for his future roles of the devil and clown, way more make-up there. Absolutely fantastic clip. Thank you for posting this, it was very nostalgic!💖💖💖
Just went and watched this in theater with live performances. Patricia Quinn (magenta) was even there to speak, her 49th anniversary tour. It was fucking awesome ❤️❤️
It is incredibly iconic. Like, it is only happening once for every decade 😄😆 They are all extremely hilarious. The „sleeping with director” remark aged gracefully... She's ahead of her time
This brings back so many wonderful memories from my youth thank you for posting this
He really was a great singer people don’t give them enough credit for this role
Do you mean Barry Botswick?
I'm so glad I was among the first to see Rocky Horror. You had to see it more than once. It was that good. It's timeless.
In absolute tears! This movie and Tim's body of work has always and will forever inspire me. Thanks for posting this ❤️💯
i had the pleasure of meeting barry bostwick in person at summercon 2023 and he is SUCH a legend!!! he gave a dear friend of mine a comically oversized jar of pickles
I met him a couple days ago at the 2024 Denver Fan Expo. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met
I can't get over the fact that they chose to bleep the word "hole" instead of the first syllable.
My son called me and asked how to get fake nails off! He had gone to a show and he and his friends all dressed up. I told him to soak them in polish remover. The pics were great.
OMG I'm shivering with antici-
-pation
…..
Pation!
This movie is one of my great memories of cinema experiences. Went to an all night showing in the tiny old cinema in Windsor with my brother and a bunch of friends. Thier was a scattering of fans shouting at the screen and throwing popcorn etc. Fabulous experience!!
I played Riff Raff in an online production & it was just WONDERFUL! RHPS is still INCREDIBLE! 🎉❤🖤 It was WAY AHEAD of it's time and it's why I ❤ it SO MUCH. Tim Curry is ABSOLUTELY one of my idols. Of ALL-TIME. I JUST ❤❤❤❤ him! "Dont Dream it, be it" is one of my life's mantras.
i remember the first time my mother showed me about the rhps and she made me watch the Time Warp part and she was doing the dance and i thought she was trying to summon a demon 😭
BE IT
I met most of them & kissed Tim Curry, at the RFPS 15th Anniversary Party, in LA.
It was AMAZING!!! 🥰
I love the resurgence of RHPS fan content
65 going on 66. This movie changed my life.
**Ikura Prime,** - Around the same era, "Clockwork Orange" was released.
That movie bowled me over, especially the soundtrack.
Why?
GOING ON 70YRS. THUS DEC. 2022!
RHPS IS THE BEST!!!
i'm the brad cosplayer walking in in the world's cvntiest outfit and saying "rice."
That ending was so perfect. Tears. When they all say Tim.
First saw RHPS when it first came out in the 70's and been a fan ever since even though I'm now in my 60's....got my grandkids into it now..they love it
"WOW a well hung navel base
you call that well hung? must be a virgin
stop you may be ruining it for (semipopular person)"
will always be my favorite audience participation moment :D
I remember the first time I saw RHPS I was 6 years old and I couldn't sleep, my older brother was watching it on TV so I watched it with him not knowing what it was about, I just loved the music. My mom caught us and started chewing out my brother. He told her to relax I didn't know what was going on, then he gave me a look and said 'well she might know now.' I had to wait until I was of age to watch it again lol. But always will love this version above any others.
I love Tim Curry so much! My favorite actor 🖤 Brooke my heart when he had his stroke, but still love him as much as ever.
the interview at the end seriously got me crying, Tim Curry is such a treasure
“CAUSE HE’S BORING??” 😆
All I can say that Barry Bostwick has the best legs in show business.
i don't remember the last time i watched anything to do with rhps on youtube but this came up on my recommended and i just wanna say thank you bc his is my favourite film of all time and i've never seen these behind the scenes clips before
My most watched and participated in movie ever @ over 350+ shows back in the 80s. I have been a long time fan of Tim Curry's musical career and acting career. Even to this day, if I hear his music, I have to sing along with him. As for the whole cast, I love them.
Extra, Christopher Biggins played Nero in 'I, Claudius'- recognized immediately... and of course, Patricia Quinn was also in 'I, Claudius' as Livilla.
IM GONNA CRY AT THE ENDING RIGHT NOW I LOVE HIM SM
An absolute favorite of mine. I'm 53 now and still enjoy.
I'm not crying at the end🥲 you're crying at the end😭😭😭
i did not know this even existed. excellent to see these interviews and outakes of this historic movie. 💋
i just love this film so much, this video made me so unbridledy happy 😭😭
Saw it live in London in a litle theatre, we even got up and danced The Time Warp with the cast. Will never ever forget that!😍
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I love Tim Curry, he is such a great man, and actor!
My fave musical. Just love the cast, especially Tim.
Oscar for this movie and Oscars for all of those involved. ❤
Tim is a GOAT. True legend.
Love that movie. Went to midnight showing in Georgetown DC and then got the album and that was it! Total fan!
I saw it for the first time at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco in 1982, it was a memorable experience.
Tim Curry was an accomplished actor. He was also the first penny wise the clown. I watched it on tv...rip bro
Tim Curry is Not dead! He's just had to slow down a lot because of his health.
Some actor 🙌 his portrayal of it the clown is one million times better than the new ones absolutely iconic
@@odonovan Right. Sorry about that.
Barry Bostwick is just hot! He aged like a fine wine !
I saw it hundreds of times and still love it.
"It's not easy having a good time...
Even smiling makes my face ache..."
I remember people cosplaying to this movie. It was at the midnight movie every weekend.
not gonna act like it’s not hard seeing tim like that at the end, but he will forever be a legend, not only for this movie, but *especially* for this movie. i hope he knows how many queer lives he’s helped empower to not just dream it, but to be it.
god i just fkn adore nell & patricia
A truly great movie! I was mesmerized throughout!
