This clip was shot in glorious colour on location in London and Rome, this 1966 film feature was originally screened as a support feature in the cinemas. This is my favorite song of Matt.
Because they actually sang. They're are singers that good out there, but the current style dictates an okay voice that can be enhanced and altered. I miss singers, actual singers.
The sad untimely passing of Matt Monro left a big void in the wonderful but now forgotten songs of yesteryear. He was one of the last of the great crooners and was sensational. He is unforgettable and sadly missed..

As a 52 year old man, I inherited my love of Matt Monro's voice from my dad's LP's (and also from watching Born Free when I was a kid - he sang the theme tune). I caught the train the other day and it was packed to the rafters, I was listening to Matt Monro through my head phones and became lost in the music. His voice was so rich and full of character just like the roast pork and beer that I had the night before. I failed to notice that I was farting right next to an elderly woman sitting beside me but to make matters worse whilst I was passing wind poos came out and dribbled from my seat to hers. Yes I love the song. It always brings tears to my eyes. His voice......WOW. My parents always played cassettes of him. I am now 61 years and yesterday I bought for 0,50€ a beautiful CD of Matt in a charity shop.
Such a wonderful gift he was given with a beautiful voice.
😢
What a voice, he should still be here showing today’s singers how it should be done.
His voice is so mellow that’s why I love all his songs.
He spoke the king/Queens English as did Sinatra, Bennett, Davis, and maybe one or 2 others

Maybe you haven't heard enough of his great body of work. Best recordings of Skylark and ALL of Hoagy Carmichael's songs. Best recording of To Dream the Impossible Dream, Who Can I Turn To?, his recording of Sir George Martin's beautiful There's a Place, best recording of Laura, and Portrait of My Love, and Softly, and BORN FREE! Best recording by far of The Shadow of Your Smile, Other People, and I Get Along Without You Very Well....
