MW3 shouldn't cost $70 (Beta Impressions)

  • Played the MW3 beta this weekend. Will MW3 multiplayer be good? Probably. But this game is simply a MW2 DLC with slight gameplay changes. If this game didn't have the remastered maps.. I don't see how this is much different than MW2. Like and subscribe if you like content like this :]

I mean back in the day youd pay for map packs, theyd charge you $15 a pop.. MW3 has about 4 map packs worth of maps. Adjust for inflation and $70 kinda makes sense, the math works out at least. Sequels also routinely use the old games engine, and remasters/remakes have been around for awhile. Granted i never feel like remasters should be full price, the real issue is that COD basically said it wasnt gonna be a standalone game, then did it anyway. Setting expectations means a lot.

I'm sort of getting fatigue from these FPS games, I think the only reason that the reboot of MW worked was due to the great graphics, design, cinematics, and overall gun sounds all that along with the fact that we had a pandemic going on. MW2 was and still is (in my opinion) a lot worse than MW1 (2019). It just felt cheap, from the sounds, the skins, the graphics, and the horrible interface.
Also the fact that MW3 is going to have unoriginal 6v6 maps is just asking for those nostalgic players to stay or come back.

Idk I didn’t pay for MW2 and hardly played it so it’s nice to have something new in rotation.
    Hopefully the zombies is fun

idk I have different feelings towards mw3 from playing the beta. As a preface though, the last COD I bought and played was Cold War so i never even played mw2. I think because I never played mw2 I have no problem paying $70 for mw3 and I actually really enjoy playing the game a bunch ( I ended up putting in 19 hours in 2 days and skipped a lecture to play )... that being said I totally understand where everyone who did pay for mw2 is coming from, its crazy how they are literally just using the same engine but tweaking minor things based on player feedback. The game literally uses the same launcher as mw2 and will have basically all the mw2 guns,, essentially everyone is paying for a revamp with added maps and weapons

I enjoyed my time with the beta, but what rubs me the wrong way is that they've clearly had these mw2 maps on standby instead of giving us a mw2 remaster that we wanted, and we dont even get sm2 now....yeah just rubs me the wrong way

I get what you're saying - they're offering what a "typical" COD game releases with each and every year. But when it comes down to it, it is literally an expansion that was originally planned disguised as a new release to charge $70 and claim new tech is what helps justify it.
We wanted MW2 maps the entire year, what happened? They kept all of them from us to resell back to us at a $70 price point. Sure it's cool that everything I got storewise will carry over, but people will expect it going forward and this is the first time we got a direct sequel to last year's release.

cringy halloween skins suck man, it'd be awesome to have an optional feature to turn every skin into "base skins".

in my opinion mw 2019 was the best cod in years, its clear its all about the money for these companys and they all have their own lasting problems with development. If i were to create a new cod i would take the guns and sounds from mw2019, the zombies from cod cold war and the maps would have to be a mix between new maps from mw2019 and remastered maps from mw2 from the people who made mw 2019, these clowns have been just producing downgrading copies of the same game over and over. shits almost a mobile game with the pea shooters and weird graphics
