The biggest problem with the sbmm is that once you win your first 2-3 games, the game gives you 5 other half dead guys while you go against 6 copies of yourself.
6 copies of myself? My man, it's just 6 pro players. In all these games I average like a 1KD if not lower and the entire enemy team after the first 3 matches average a KD of damn near 9.

Our friend groups has 2 guys that play the game a lot but aren’t very good at it, so when we play with them the matchmaking balances around the lobbies a lot better. Sometimes it even feels like old school cod lobbies.

nah dude you arent crazy, Ive been playing since 2010, and average a 2 kd in all the cods, enjoyed cod, played it everyday and didnt get tired of it.. but after mw 2019... I been taking breaks, and if I do hop on its for maybe an hour cause I get so annoyed with having to sweat my dick off every game because I have put the time in to get good. CW was the last cod I bought with my own money. my friend bought me mw2 cause I refused to buy it. and I refuse to buy mw3 SBMM is ass. let the noobs get shit on, if they want to enjoy they game they will get good. I did it, Im sure 80% of cod players did it. SBMM needs to go, I wont buy another cod until its removed.
Yeah man! In MW 2019 I had a 2.20 KD and it was so unbelievably hard to keep that. The only way I had fun was playing with my friends and try harding Dom trying to win - that was the only way to have “fun” was try harding public matches and keeping our win streak alive lmao
Same here when I was playing from 09-2013 I was having a 2 KD and now since mw19 it’s been downhill
I haven’t played since BO3, and I am absolutely shocked at the amount of “movement” tech that EVERYONE uses, literally every single game is a slide cancel, jump shotting, and drop shotting extravaganza. Sometimes, I just walk around watching my teammates in awe that they’re seemingly playing a game that’s at 2x speed.
I feel like they make the "fun" part of the game so hard to obtain. I miss being able to get a nuke w out being a cdl player. I miss getting a 10 min time out instead of kicked from the game for tk in hardcore.
I miss when people could say whatever they wanted w out being voice banned.
I miss when calling cards were more about your personality than a status symbol
I miss when everything wasn't fucking gold.
I miss a crazy colorful camo was a symbol of hard work for the grind instead of what you bought for 20 bucks or what you got by doing some glitch to obtain some kind of in limited in game currency so you could have a camo day 1 instead of grinding it out like a normal person
I miss when shit talking was for when a person actually was doing bad and not dying from a 1v6 in snd while your team mates won't stop back seat gaming and yelling at you while you hear smoke detectors and shitty mumble rap in the background.
I miss when eery piece of content was able to be earned and not, ether bought in a bundle shop or given away to content creators for being human billboards

I'm pretty sure they are controlling hit detection and nerfing connection also you can see when at the middle of a match the "system" decides you are doing too well and that the other team needs to win then all of a sudden there is like a stutter and then your bullets don't land, you die from people looking at you you begin to spawn in front of people already aiming etc etc this is no longer an fps more like an FPS SIMULATOR
This shit has been happening to me all the time, I start the game, pop off and then halfway through the game I start lagging like crazy and can’t even react to the guys I was melting a couple of minutes ago.
It makes you think you’re going crazy but you’re not. There’s a patented algorithm they use that controls everything. As soon as you enter a 1.0-2.0 K.D ratio you enter the cycle of win 1 game get hammered in the next 3. Everything from hit reg, weapon damage, spawns, connection, health all gets fucked with in real time when you start playing well. We all remember killing the same player over and over in a certain game and they all of sudden get really good and start cooking you. Sometimes it feels like you’re playing a completely different team because the algorithm starts buffing the losing team
Oh I know they are. I know for certainty that they are doing that. Last night on world War II, to get my 1911 gold in that game I had to get you know five more kills with out dying, I went on a f****** 9 streak, a nine kill Streak with just pistols. The game just straight up didn't give me the camo. I thats not the only time s*** like that has happened, for me it's quite frequent.
Watching the old cod gameplay made me want to play and looks fun but as soon as it cut to a modern cod it just looks so unfun even from just watching. I've played from mw2 up to mw 2019 and i can't stand a lot of the modern games
MW 2019 was fun because it was fun to play during the peak of COVID, even the campaign was amazing imo. But now it seems like everything revolves around Warzone - even the newest MW3 campaign have a lot of Warzone missions and it’s so uninspired and cashgrabby. Old CODs is where it’s at 🔥

I never like the SBMM system in multi-player games. I wish they have a sperated playlist but I haven't play COD games since BO4 zombies.
I wish I had seen this before I bought the MW III game because I'm from the old game days and took a 10 year break from PC. I went back to play Enemy Territory Qwake Wars first and have been slowly improving, getting closer to where I used to be. So then I went back to CoD and couldn't figure out why the same wasn't happening there. Now, thanks to your video I understand why! When I came back, it took me like 5 games to get my 1st kill! And since then every enemy I go up against kills me before I can even turn around to aim!
I started out playing multiplayer (almost exclusively S&D) in Ops1. K/D had to have been ~.30. But as you grow to learn how weapons behave and how the maps flow, its rewarding to see your K/D climb showing your improvement. I don't feel SBMM encourages and accurately reflects that growth, therefore the reward just isn't there anymore. I miss region based matchmaking so much!

Old CoD matchmaking was great. Yeah it lacked the community of servers but I remember somehow meeting a middle school friend who moved schools in high school in MW2 randomly in a lobby. Skill Based would never allow that today.

When ping is part of SBMM…., it becomes company approved cheating.
Its rare to see someone with 20+ kills actually have more than a 1.5kd. Its usually 25 kills 19 deaths etc. it completely kills an feeling of momentum when you die after every time you get a kill.

Yeah I just started halo infinite a week or 2 ago. Matches were fun the first few days until sbmm kicked in now it's hit or miss. I will say sbmm and eomm is way thicker in COD though.
The last CoD I played was MW3, I was all over CoD4, MW2 and Black Ops back in the day. I still might get the new MW3 just to see how much it has changed and I might be able to get into it

Great video man, everything you said is on point, I remember ''wasting'' days on days playing OG MW 1 and 2 just because it was thrilling and fun, after playing MW2019 for 2 years I just gave up on it, there was 0 fun to be had, or even when it was fun somehow the next 30 minutes just made me quit the game because it felt like a job to keep playing. I don't want to go pro or become some cracked out of existence master at the game and it really felt like the system was making me go that route. Been COD clean for more than a year now... I am just sad to see people support this greedy scheme that Activison is doing for the last few years and not respecting and paying tribute to their fans and players by releasing something that we would want. What a shame...

Here's an idea. Nobody is going to play a "ranked" playlist with the highest level of sbmm unless you give them a reason to. So give them a reason to. Make it so that some camos or operator skins can only be obtained in ranked matches, thus making them more prestigious.

Been playing COD since COD3 and my last COD was MW2019 but i bought MWIII to game with some coworkers and they always get stomped and get bummed out playing with me while i can finally relax and have fun and playing with them is the only fun i have in the game. This is part of the reason why the social aspect disappeared from COD as well is because no one is partnering up because SBMM averaging the skill of 2 or more players in a party will kill the fun of the majority and only 1 player in the party will be having fun so everyone just solo queues.
I have only this to add. I dont play CoD. Havent in like ten years. Only clicked on this video to see what sbmm stood for lol.

Always always will start getting lag or the feeling my shots are missing
Then back to back hit markers
It feels the hit box gets smaller
The enemy seems to last minute slide out of the way
My gun will slip off them and I just so ever slightly miss
I was behind someone and hit him with a marksman rifle in the back point blank - hit marker. He then turns around and ko me in two shots
Always feels the players with skins and special gun camos seem to always win
It hands down changes you mid game
I went off one game at surprising decent ping (50) for cod
And then couldn’t find a game
Went to 200 ping and sat searching
The game is an “experience” and “equitable experience”

My experience from previous cod, you get a kill you will get shot. Back n forth playing high end opponents and when your team is trash and you feel you carrying the team.

went back on cold war recently and was either winning seach lobbies 6-0 without dying or losing 6-0 without a kill, no inbetween whatsoever
They’ll give you a couple matches here and there but you’re right, there’s no in between 😭
I remember I bought CoD WW2 back in 2017 and pulled an all nighter having a blast playing mutliplayer. Now I can't even play a full match without logging off because of how hard you have to try in matches only to STILL go negative or just break even.
Thank you! I'm a grandpa today. 36 and my back hurts. And this is no fun way to play, I'm exhausted after a couple of matches. I preferred DMZ, I think that has the perfect balance of slow gameplay and focus for my old age.

I’ve been playing since BR1/Cod3 and I’ve always been a 1.6~1.75 KD player, I’d consider myself above average. I’m not the best but I’ve always been able to well even against an organized team. But I noticed post MW19 is when it became a real struggle. Even newer games prior to MW I did about the same or a little better KD and SPM wise then I usually do. But with MW2019 the SBMM was just a chore to deal with, if they want to have a protected bracket for people with .4 or less that’s fine but everyone else should be grouped together. I don’t necessarily like partying up with people I don’t know because they always end up being on some bullshit 🤦🏽♂️ I have a friend that won’t play CoD with the rest of us because the lobbies are too rough for him to compete. I used to get shit on when I first started playing CoD multiplayer. I remember going into the CoD4 campaign on veteran to work on my aim and familiarize myself with different guns because I was tired of being the enemy team’s gas station toilet. I slowly improved. I skipped WaW but by the time MW2 came around I was above a 1KD albeit only slightly a W is W. I mean even in other games, even in games that aren’t shooters they will not hold a new players hand IE the soul series lmao it literally spawned the term “Git Gud” you either got good or you GOT SHIT ON. They need to leave this everybody wins and everyone gets a trophy for showing up bullshit out of FPS, CoD especially. You as the player are responsible for how well you do, the game shouldn’t do it for you. If you don’t like it Git Gud or get gone bro.

as someone else who is a nobody that pops off, I can corroborate they 100% keep tabs on players, basically stalk them indefinitely until they feel they have enough evidence where they can ban you and you can't sue them for first off being wrong, and then stalking you in an online game.
the game has never asked me for my phone number. I think it already has it. But I have been shadowbanned twice and after both shadowbans in two different games my Game client has ALWAYS behaved strangely. It will typically crash at very inconvenient moments, never in a moment when nothing is going on .
it literally ALWAYS crashes the moment it looks like im about to make a really good push because i saw someone's foot going behind a wall out of the corner of my eye or i could hear someone reload, and god forbid you ever actually played a real sport in your life and understand a pursuit angle where you may see another player running one direction from you but they are clearly going to run behind a small hill or a stump that will break LOS for 3 seconds... god forbid you think for yourself and immediately either try to run to the top of the hill or farther up the road past the hill so you can shoot them. The game has CONSISTENTLY disconnected me during moments like this. Its to the point even in ZOMBIES, if i start getting too many head shots and snapping from zombie to zombie on MnK the game will disconnect me or crash after about the 10th to 15th zombie in a a row causing me to constantly lose items to the point I can't really play that mode, or its constantly putting my insured weapon slot on cool down.
So yes there is something in the background doing this intentionally because it never happens at a time where nothing is going on which would suggest randomness. But, Whether its a braindead mentally ill employee or the algorithm doing this is yet to be determined, but there is 100% something going on and the weirdest stuff happens when you can sometimes drop kill numbers like their coveted streamers, but occasionally creep over that 1KD they want you to have.
A lot of the creators via their videos say Activision and other COD studio devs completely shutdown if any of them try to ask about SBMM or the machine learning in Ricochet. I think they are the same algorithm and i think ricochet has went haywire a long time ago before it was called ricochet and its been incorrectly matching players or unfairly applying riccochet "penalties/conditions" to players, and there's way more penalties than the ones they openly share with us in social media posts or what people found in a patent.
I believe there's other penalties to make it look like you are organically having problems with the game(lagging, errors, fake packet loss) but really its ricochet kicking you out or manipulating your game because you're doing too much in a lobby and its ruining the game for others, but they can't label you a cheater because there's no injection or VPN. Sadly there is no way for us to tell really whats going on as long as the devs keep their mouths shut on what the algorithm really does.
but again yes I have also witness the game or Activision framework behaving suspiciously if you pop off too much or in certain ways they don't like.
Its ok for huskers to get 10 headshots in a row, and then mysteriously call out a player's name in game before he or anyone else has a chance to spectate them to see their name, but god forbid you are random joebob and you pop off like that and DON'T even make a suspicious call out. They will stalk you with the algorithm for as long as you play the game. What's probably going to happen is Bobby K is going to croak in the next 3 to 5 years, and that's when all the real stuff about this algorithm comes out so he can no longer be liable even as the former head of Activision for any past or future violations of Biden's AI rules.

Ever since the rebooted Modern Warfare, the SBMM is broken as every time you finish the match, you instantly get booted out and instantly find a new set of players where parties stay the same no matter who they go up against.
The OG cod games keep you in the same lobby until you decide to leave then you just find the match and if you don't like the next one like you see a large party or remembered someone who's bad at the game, you can leave.
The connection match making is better as it pairs with the Internet connection. Can't stand having to face against sweats almost instantly after hood matches and some players are doing the Fortnite PubG SBMM strategy to get out of fighting against sweats where they do badly on most matches hoping that they get into matches they will be better at just because they want to win more and look good.
In the OG its pretty much a mystery box draw where you could have any type of players and be good, average or bad
They'll be following a sports analogy of their own. In that, as you improve as an individual, you generally find yourself in more talented company. But the key word there is 'generally'.
As a footballer/soccer player, you start off at grass roots level, into an Academy system and then have the opportunity to break into the senior team. You could also progress up the league system, within that team. The difference is, you'll always have weaker teams to play against. There isn't a situation where you're the best, only ever playing the best, even in tournaments. One of the many reasons the proposed 'super league' faced such widespread opposition from fans - it just wouldn't be fun.
I agree. We had a trios party, 2 of us 2kd and 1 is 0.8kd and he HATES playing with us. Constantly goes 3-20, 1-17 and he doesn't even want to play it anymore :( we used to have fun back in the day...its sad. We all got jobs and life it's hard to "stay good" all these kids gaming since 3 yr old. I think my KD in MW3 is 1.2 now. I mean whatever I use dumb weapon builds but still. Thats 1 kill, 1 death everytime, hard to get a nice streak going.

COD is the only AAA franchise that doesnt have a proper ranked mode and forces you to play SBMM like ranked mode in casual games. While other games offer a casual mode and SBMM like ranked mode COD said nah fuck that you will play SBMM all the time
Everyone and they mamas claim BO2 was the best cod. I don’t agree. I’m more of a OG MW2 and BO1 kinda girl. I miss those days. No microtransactions. Great maps. DLC map packs for $15. Smack talk in lobbies, great perks and weapons and also unlockables with in game money. No need to buy skins. All earned by doing contracts. Spec ops and also zombies in BO1 kicked ass. Everyone and their momma was playing back then. I had 4 friends over at my house on PS3 playing Kino.
BO1 was a great time for me. Everything made it a great all around game. Zombies was S tier, multiplayer was super fun, and even the campaign was probably one of the most memorable ones. Definitely agree with this!

I found after playing infected on mw2 for a few hours it would reset sbmm but yea my kd hangs around a 1.0 and I consider myself good not great. I always play solo and I'd imagine playing in a party would help your KD a ton. Back in black ops 1 I even had a higher KD and I definitely wasn't as good back then.
5:00 and 10:00 holy crap. I played COD 2 back in the day, but I never saw that map - that's a recreation of the old MOHAA and Spearhead map, The Bridge. Makes sense, the original COD was made from some of the devs from MOHAA. Wow that brought back some awesome memories.

Not to mention how rigged the algorithm is, if you start doing good the game will purposefully make you miss your shots, or even make you shot some mf for like 6 shots when the other guy takes 3 to 4 shots to kill you. And also itll make you not register your shots at some points, it's so corrupt.
My friends were laughing at me when i swore i was hitting people for 5 to 6 hit markers. They didnt believe me. I sit there and count the markers. 5 is average if im not cheesing with a shotgun. Its crazy.
I started noticing shit like that in Fortnite which is why I quit. Guns start doing way less damage like shotguns doing 20 to the chest despite being at point blank meanwhile you get one tapped while at full health. The game literally fills the lobbies with bots to let you win easily and then puts you into a pro lobby immediately afterwards.
It's pretty much in all multiplayer games now. They're designed to stop people from having fun if they're not sweating constantly and playing like there's $10 million on the line.
I have a video from yesterday of someone with their back turned to me sitting still not getting hit by any bullets whatsoever, zero hit markers. Then I get sniped from off to the side.
@@coltonwilkie241The difference is that fortnite doesn't have skill based damage. Damage Is determined by many factors like range, how much that individual weapon does, or critical hits. Damage with shotguns are determined by how many pellets hit your target, how far away you are, or critical hits

MW 2019 and Cold War was the peak of the 2020’s especially with warzone and the Cold War event. I miss those days, playing it during the Covid pandemic was quite literally peak for all of 2020. Even the SBMM was bearable. I hope COD gulf war and its zombies mode can bring the franchise back.
1 looked at my 50+ friends stats yesterday and literally 45 of them are between .90-1.10 kd and these are ramges of ppl with 2-3 days played already and guys with 5-10 hours in the first month so how are they exactly the same skill stat wise? Its obvious yhe game forces u into games that balance out your stats based on how you do game to game, i really felt it when he said its just exhausting to play this game now i used to play 12 hours strait no problem but now im so mentally exhausted after less than two hours
Crazy, tbh I never really knew what SBMM was until now… and now I know why my K/D & W/L Ratio has been fucking shit for the past 8 years lol.
after MW2019 i said i was done with COD. A friend bought MW2 for me even though i made it clear i didn't want to play it, so of course i had to play with my bud since he spent the money, i got shadow banned over the Christmas holiday, so all i was able to play was DMZ, i got banned in the middle of a match, because i magically used all my gamer juices to lead my squad to a clear against 3 different 4 man squads. So your only option is to cheese sbmm, accept getting shit on by tri-hard no recoil users, or get banned if you manage to somehow win out. I will never play another COD.

When Cold War came out I played on my friends account while he had a 1.75k/d, I was going triple positive every game, even losing a TDM game on nuketown going 49/9
I play mw3 and after 30 hours or so have a 1.2 k/d. The competition feels so much higher too
it is the most frustratingly obvious sbmm i’ve ever seen, if they don’t dial it back i’m never playing cod again. literally spawn after spawn i’m either killed bc of shit spawns on 10 YEAR OLD MAPS, and get put with absolute shit cunts that don’t even take trades when they’re right next to you, instead they sit in a corner while the enemy on 10hp heals and then eventually kills teammate too…. worst cod experience i’ve ever had

Even in destiny 2 my skill isn't where it once was so the people it put me up against I was know where close in skill for.

Bro, I'm a top 2% player in the leaderboards. I have 5 wins and 27 losses. I don't get placed on winning teams lol. What a great experience so far.
Bro when the game came out I got like a fourty bomb in like three games, SINCE THE. I’ve been in a bracket where I’m getting flicked head shorted like 0.99 seconds into a fight, I went from the top of the leaderboard to the bottom consistently in every match and I cannot run the map like I used to. I don’t even wanna play the game anymore cause it’s never easy at any point and always me being pinned trying to go positive one kill every match
Gaming is now competetive sweating more than a relaxing hobby, even in previously casual modes and games.
MW2 is doing the same now, just today I stuck 3 people in 3 different matches with a sticky grenade, it didnt kill them, i was playing with a friend and he ducked behind a wall off to the right when i threw sticky at him, some magical way the sticky hit a right apparently and wasted him before it detonated... some people can shoot me through a shipping container wall, but i cant shoot someone through a bathroom stall wall.... the COD we knew and loved is a memory now.
I've gone back to MW Remastered andTitanfall 2, and it's been a blast
These arguments, while valid to a certain degree, are so hilariously bad from the players they are coming from at times. Non-skilled players getting into a higher tier from one good match is not a good way to do it. But I’ve seen way too many higher tier players complaining that they are playing against players of similar skill. So ultimately a large portion of this argument is “we can’t feed off of much lower skilled players anymore. Your game sucks.” I get that this year it probably needs to be tweaked a bit but the idea that you can’t just “have fun” beating up on lesser players tells you everything you need to know about the hardcore fan base of this game.

Wheres wager matches. Wheres theather mode, wheres the custom emblems and tags, where are special weapons, actually NEW MAPS, wheres the ORIGINAL MW3 MAPS IN A GAME CALLED MODERN WARFARE 3, Easter eggs hidden in MULTIPLAYER MAPS like nuketown in black ops 1 where you had to shoot the dolls heads off and some extra steps,etc.
Try out The Finals when it comes out. The beta was some of the most fun I have had in a multiplayer game in forever. I probably won't touch cod much at all once it comes out

This server browser system is the same reason why a game like Team Fortress 2 feels so lively even after 16 years.
As a PC gamer it makes me sad that server browsers are gone. I mean there is the problem of the game being modded and not the vanilla experience. But overall it is a more lively feel.
I downloaded cod mobile on pc recently and it’s been a much greater cod experience than I’ve had in years. Jjst casual arcade type of cod that you can kickback and just mindlessly play without sweating. Ranked is pretty fun as well. After seeing this though I’m re downloading cod 2 and hopping on these servers it looks so fun.
I remember when we had a full group of friends (Clan) we always joined one of our friends with bad KD for easier wins as the majority of the clan was good af
I think it would benefit from a kind of 3 bracket system. Low, medium, and high skill. Depending on how consistently hard your stomping or being stomped it'll adjust your placement. Maybe a 5 tier system would be better but my point is it should be loosened up.
Nah dude. I spent my time getting smacked and it motivated me to get better. Now I am and what reward do I get for that? Nothing.

I despise this game. I can’t go half a match without getting so many hit markers and then instantly dying. It makes no sense. I’m back on the Battlefield where my bullets count.
I don't plan on buying MWIII solely because of SBMM but Warzone is a completely different story.
It has the guns and mechanics of the multiplayer that I personally like, but since its free and lobbies are bigger, I feel SBMM isnt near as strong in BR or even Resurgence as it is in MP.
While it may be awkward to go for camo challenges without MP I'm sure its still possible since the challenges seem real easy, but even then I'd rather play Cold War and MW19 since they are less strict with SBMM and are still very good games (aside from the campers in MW19 and the Tec 9 abuses in CW)

Yup. I'm in the upper echelons of skill based match making, and every single match is an absolute grind. So what I do is limit my time in one cod, and I'll swap to a different cod. I refuse to buy cods at launch now. I doubt I'll buy mwIII
How about have servers for both ? Ranked with sbmm and unranked without it
Also: cant u just use the controller with ur PC? Then pc is huge advantage with more fps
Dude I should be playing In mlg with some of these lobbies. The fact that I get any kills in these lobbies prove I’m capable cz the ppl I play against are ridiculous
I turned off crossplay on xbox and the lobbies are far less stressful. Still dealing with alot of gamers on that camo grind, but other than that there's no sweaty PC players with crazy movement and magic shots.
If your on xbox and turn crossplay off, the game will ask for your account password on main menu, after you enter it once, you can press B every time it asks again for your password. If you go back to the main menu, then you'll have to re-enter your password once again. Game works fine, finds matches just as fast as if crossplay was enabled.
The only thing I disagree with is when you said cod now has bunny hopping and can be a issue for newbies or people to try learn how to do it when bunny hopping has just been a Tec since quake
Cod 2 sounds like minecraft before realms.
So when me and my brother were playing earlier tonight we had a couple matches where we both did good. Then we went back to the lobby to queue up again and I literally got signed out of my account 😂 nobody hacked me or nothing, I just got randomly signed out. Never had that happen in my whole life.
this video makes a good point but its clear you havent been in a really low level lobby in awhile, its not easy and usually filled with reverse boosters its hurting low k.d aswell.
