  • @LetsCleanaRecord

My second favorite Jan Garbarek record, Star being my #1. Great stuff, thanks for sharing.

  • @timothywebber7404

Love your enthusiastic and professional reactions to ECM.

  • @Daniel-hk3ru

Enjoy these reviews that dig into the differences of the OG vs Reissue that requires critical listening. . At some point I must dive in and go for ECM ! Thank you, Michael !

  • @seekingathread

Afric Pepperbird is one of the absolute best ECMs. Happy to have the 1st German as well and wondering how it stacks up to the reissue

  • @chronomaster.

Thanks for the great review Michael. 👍 I ask for more of these. 🙏

  • @Markymarkvinylnut

    Azimuth on my list! Beautiful!

  • @Marnikvil

Norwegian jazz icons; Jan Garbarek and his musicians. I am waiting with excitement for "Witchi Tai To" & "Belonging" ...

  • @saarinmaki

Wonderful news:) As the original is so difficult to find this will be an instant buy. Have been looking for this for years!

  • @marklatkowski9327

    Thank you for the review.

  • @marcellavankraaij

    Great buy!

  • @RaviNewfarm

Got the reissue 2 weeks ago and got a listen or two, really great record and very nice re-issue. Hard to find good originals of this , even here in Norway. Only managed to listen with headphones before going on 2 weeks holiday, but today I will listen on speakers!

  • @oldloaf

I love your vids and just gave the Afric Pepperbird a listen. Not for me, really. BUT...I did discover the Arve Henriksen, Harmen Fraanje Touch of Time album. And that hits me just perfect.

I've been looking forward to this re-issue. Nice to hear it compares favorably. Just back from the local shop - they text me last night they found the Charles Tolliver I went for yesterday. Seems they had a 2nd copy, lucky me. While there I bought a Mint/Sealed copy of David Holland Quartet / Conference of the Birds (US ECM/Polydor 1973.) Excited.

  • @christinezuazua2218

Great video as always 👍🏻 On another note, I’d love a video on what valve types and brands your electronics have in them 👌🏻🎵

  • @onsenkuma1979

I'm looking forward to this, and to the Azimuth self titled (their first). Later this year we'll have Rainer Bruninghaus and one of the most difficult to find OGs: Bennie Maupin's 'Jewel and The Lotus'. I hope they might consider at some point Michael Naura's 'Vanessa' and Double Image's 'Dawn'. This really is a great series so far...

  • @JBLClassic

    I’ll check it out

  • @thehater8389

Im super glad that ECM doing this series. What I notice when I compare this reissue with original that luminescence series is a little bit wider than the original when it comes to sound stage, but I take it as a pros, great high quality jacket, can't wait for more, maybe Terje Rypdal's albums in the future, I hope so 🥰 peace, love & music

  • @planetaufplatte

Hey Michael, schönes Video. Ich werde die Reissue auch zeitnah bekommen hoffe ich, ist im Versand. Bin gespannt auf den Vergleich mit unserem Original. Grüße

  • @deny749

Hi Michael, can you ask your contact at ECM why on earth are they ignoring the great Eberhard Weber. To my knowledge not one of his works has been reissued on vinyl in the last twenty odd years nevermind this Luminescence series. Criminal almost. The Following Morning. Wow! Chorus. Wow! The Colours of Chloë. Wow! The list goes on….and on. Thanks for this and all your videos. Love your enthusiasm.

  • @NicoMalcolm

I really love the album Afric Pepperbird. It's great to see that ECM has done a high quality reissue, gatefold sleeve and everything. If you are not familiar, I strongly recommend you check out Min Bul. It's an album by Terje Rypdal, Espen Rud and Bjørnar Andresen from 1970. Somewhat in the free and experimental vein as Afric Pepperbird, but with more emphasis on Terje Rypdal's guitar. A fantastic album indeed! Look for the original Polydor issue if you like it. Very rare and higly collectable.
