@@markus2151 its fixed. I manage to replace the spring(rusty and stiff) and place the gears in its proper place. (Originally i had no idea how those gears work or what specific gear does).
@@markus2151 my knowledge about stuff is fairly limited too. But I just seen this video and remembered that it had the same mechanism and gear sets as my antique wind up clock when I last tried to fixed it.
If you are referring to the winding spring, it's not technically a sping. It is .006 thick by 1/2" wide stainless shim stock rolled into the housing. You can get a 25' roll of it. I used about 12 or 14 feet I think.
I've achieved a time of just over 21 minutes of run time with my exact setup. I'm sure if you used a longer piece of shim stock for the sping it would run longer. Over 20 minutes was plenty long for me. Lol
Can you put an amazon link to the shim you use for the winding? I am Australian and it's kind of hard to find 1/2" .006 shim stock on eBay, because of conversions. Much appreciated if you could.
Not sure if they would have it there. Was pretty hard to find on amazon too. I got mine locally as I work for a machine shop. Try checking with one in your area if you can't find it. www.amazon.com/dp/B00065UZCC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_G0ybGb5TBXVR1?psc=1

I have this old antique Wind- up clock that has the same mechanism..
I think i just figured out how to fix it.

@@colleshion9630 amazing. I love to “fix” things but usually I don’t have the knowledge or skills needed.

That is amazing. Bravo
I... I thought this was gonna fly or something...
One more thing, what is the blue filament you used? It looks like blued steel!
Silk sapphire blue from CC3D. I got it on Amazon.
how long does it run fully wound?
I don't remember off hand but it was over 10 min for sure. I wanna say like 15 to 20 min.
You should make a looping video clip of it
Amazing work🔥👌👍
Yo this is cool. Im gonna make one.
what is the longest duration you can achieve with this exact setup?
I haven't done much testing but I'd imagine it would run for 20 minutes or more.
@@timkowalik thanks
