Good start. If only they can hurry up and hit Runick, Lab, and all the floodgates, I'd be happy. They finally shallowed their fucking pride and banned those 2 dumb ass cards with Rhogo and Bish. Can they clean up the game some more!!?? Where's Runick hits? Where's the Labrynth hits?! I hate how they're okay with decks that can freely spam floodgates with no downsides. Those decks need to be hit on the ban list. Also, where is the Maxx C hits?? Why is skill drain still in the game???!!! Why they banned Bish FTK but not all the others!? Just fix the game!! Clean it up!! God!!!
Noticed these small changes on the website the other day. I really like details like this and this looks pretty clean. Especially for newer users this could be a nice help. I sometimes saw people get a bit confused about expired packs. And these "craftable only URs/ bundle URs" helps to seperate a deck on what is the main core and what is the expensive extra fluff.
One of my biggest gripes with MD is how weirdly they handle this secret pack/selection pack nonsense. Why is floo/exo/dinomorphia still not in a secret pack? Sword soul JUST got one, like why do they hold off on releasing packs so hard?
Same. Finally learned what they did, loved them, but my love didn't last long when I saw that the deck needed 3 sets of URs which now you can't pull for.
It's insane how many URs some archetypes have that are exclusive to selection packs. A deck like Libromancer looks fun to play but not worth paying all the crafts to make.

I feel like the Bishbalkin hit was more a future response to the Crimson Dragon/King Calamity combo thats bound to pop up when it and Manadium release.

@@shadowspector3611we’re a trap deck with very limited good traps to keep up with the meta, let us have our d barrier and eradicator, eradicator really isn’t that strong and most of us don’t use it, when we get karma cannon i’ll settle for barrier being banned but until then no.
To avoid spoiling yourself, you could react first to every change before looking up decks and then make a second round where you talk about the implications.
My honest opinion is that he already knows beforehand what the banlist is and just puts on a shocked face for video purposes and people who might not have seen it which is perfectly fine.
Definitely the best ban-list so far. Merrli banned, Agido banned, Block Dragon banned, Kelbek to 1 etc. I admit the Branded Fusion hit was kinda heavy since I'm a Branded main but overall I'm happy with this ban-list.
D.D Crow doesn’t do much since BF would still be accessible through Springans Kitt, which is most likely gonna be played at more than 1 now. (Not to mention, Sprind the Irondash Dragon is a really good Albaz fusion target)
Yeah, Aluber is looking a lot less interesting compared to springans Kitt with branded fusion at 1. Also, once branded gets the newest support in master duel, branded fusion will not be as crucial.
The reasoning for the merli ban instead of kitkalos because they still want your turn to be good just not as good also the spright link monsters being allowed to stay is another. This list more then any other seems to really take the best of 1 format of master duel serious
They really hit all the meta decks, Tearlaments might even actually just completely fall off now. I am now a bit tempted to play my rogue decks again in ranked lmao.
@@davidjimenez3822merrli is quite literally the best hit they could’ve possibly made next to Kit. Tears drops a considerable amount from that but it can still hang around. It’s just gonna be awkward as hell
I was hoping they would hit kit and elf instead of merrli and hit kashtira by getting rid of mind hacker so the kashtira winter won't be so rough besides that im cool with the list
I was using a bunch of Tearlament stuff in my Orcust build, so while it's mildly annoying to see it hit, I was advocating for those 2 specific bans (Merrli and Agido) for a while. I've actually gotten surprisingly effective use out of Azalea, Zeke and H.A.M.P. in my build for the Light v. Dark event, which is a modified version of an experimental Orcust Striker build I'm working on(that's currently using Tearlaments as a mill engine). Earth Box is nearly dead without Block Dragon now until the Superheavy Samurai support comes out. So that must be on the way soon. Maybe. Dragon Link, Branded and Dracoslayer are probably the best Bystial users, though Dogmatika, Orcust and even Sky Striker have managed to make decent use out of them too so that's something to consider for why they left it alone. The only way to search Grass until Triple Tactic Thrust comes out is Left Arm Offering, which only really Branded(which might consider searching Fusion with it now), Witchcrafter and Infernoids are fine with(and I guess a couple other banish focused decks off my radar, MAYBE Ghoti likes it with certain hands?). Rhongo is fine in the OCG since XYZ Encore, the new trap Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon, and even sometimes Herald of the Abyss are all played to deal with both Purrely and Kashtira. But MD can't side so you can't expect as many people to have those as contingencies. Bishbaalkin gets used in some annoying SHS FTKs in the near future, so they probably wanted it gone since it's already an option in P.U.N.K. and formerly Scrap Dinos.
This list will be considered good but it's very clear to me they are tired of players using the same decks from months ago. This was done to force people to buy the new cards
Yep weaken the older popular decks in the meta. So people start investing in other archetypes and the newer packs. I only used 3000 gems on Kash. I freaken hate Kash and Labrynt. Not going to invest on that at all.
@fjo9492 I mean, the spright jet hit is really rough for any lvl 2 strategy cause his search let's you out more stuff so with only 1 jet are you gonna see less spright spell and traps in the deck? I know I most likely will not be playing the spright trap anymore because of this
As a Evil Twins mixed with Spright player, I'm kinda surprised and somewhat glad (cuz I actually find them fun when mixed with other decks like Tri-Brigades and Evil Twins) that Sprights didn't get hit as hard, like I honestly thought they were gonna at least limit Spright Elf to 1 or Gigantic or do some banning with one of them but instead they kept those around and limited Jet to 1 which to be honest, I might have to test but I don't think is much of a nerf? as 1 is usually what I personally summon per duel before someone presses the surrender button. lol at least I summon 1 and you can recycle that one with Elf if you need it for searching Gamma Burst or something that can give me the win, assuming I don't get negated etc.
@@ThatGuyKamari I'm honestly shocked that Elf didn't get touched, that is such a good card for so many decks. I was mentally preparing for either a ban or a limit to 1, already thinking what to do to make the Twins be capable and at least put up a nice fight in ranked against the popular decks. lol
Still kinda bad for marketing though to hit Branded fusion what with Chimera coming eventually as well as the last batch of Branded cards such as Sactifier coming. Im hyped for Mikanko though

Since you know you can’t make money off of that. If Konami was smart there would actually be an average power level and there would be more variety in the game. Fun deck vs deck that can win wouldn’t be as big a distinction. But that requires long term planning and money grab is antithetical to that. TL;DR Ban List 4 Cash$
Only on a casual level. Especially ones branded gets the new support like Quem and there synchros. Branded fusion is barely used as much in current TCG. Plus, springans kitt can get branded fusion from the gave yard and banished zone. So branded in platinum may not change too much, just changing the deck around.
wow I'd like to see the impact of tearlaments deck after Merlii is banned.. personally, I like this hit better than banning kitkal.. well, either one is fine by me as long as the power(our turn) level is finally getting nerfed!
People actually summoned rhongo normal? Most people cheat it out with the one spell then use sales ban to basically make it immortal, and it's effects eternal, b/c it couldn't detach material anymore...
I believe at this point, MD unban almost the entire "Eternal Format". That is wild, and also a good news for returning players too, they have something to try and stick around with.
As much as this ban list is good, im going to hate that this spells the doom of chaos ruler dragon. I use him in so many rogue decks that benefit off of him but i do understand why he'll be getting shot down in the upcoming ban list. Just gotta wait for his time to fall.
Rogue and casual decks are always the biggest victims of banlists, since moves that barely tap top meta tend to completely crush them. That said, Chaos Ruler is a disgusting, disgusting card who never should have existed, so I won’t cry if he gets banned… then again, OCG seems to really like him and Snow, so sadly I don’t share your certainty that he’s in any danger.
@@lancerguy3667 I agree, chaos ruler is one hell of an offender. I guess the ocg does have a slightly bigger influence on master duel but I do think that chaos ruler will be getting hit at some point, given that he'll be getting more use out of top tier decks in the coming future.
I wish that when Konami decides to ban cards like Chaos Ruler, they go back to rogue decks that rely on a card like that and give them their own archetype-locked version, even if it's a little weaker. Rogue decks need a card like that to make plays. For meta decks, it's one of 20 plays they'll make that turn and they'll barely miss it. They'll find some new powerful cards from other rogue decks and abuse them until they get banned too.
As a chaos player I hope they don't but at least have my chaos synchro's now to compensate if they take my Ruler. Funny that the dragon rulers are slowly coming back when we will probably lose Chaos ruler.
The forbidden list is just awesome, especially rhongo cuz there's just no option but to surrender and save time. Block was also hell lot of annoying with just drawing 3 cards again and again like crazy, branded fusion really didn't deserve it though, time to add verte for easy access lol and better add some chainlink blocks so it doesn't just get ash everytime
So for a new player what deck would be worth investing in after this ban list hits? I’ve never played master duel. Only duel links but I want try this game.
Spright, DLink, Swordsoul, Labrynth and Rikka are what I would expect to compete for tier one contender, with some other decks like Pend Mage, Branded, Sky Strikers, Runick variants, Punk variants, Traptrix and Kashtira slops sitting at the lower tiers. Tear is also very much playable, just less consistent with lower paper ceiling. If you're new I recommend either spending in the Swordsoul or Lab packs, easy to get into decks with decent ceiling
My only complaint really is that I wish all the dragon rulers were at 1. I played them back in the day and loved them. I also know how strong they can be. I just want my boys back in a fair way lol.
You could also use left arm offering for coszmo Deck, banish for field spell, when it was destroyed (when it was negated mostly), you searching it for 2 times in a row (which needs 2-3 negates to stop that) and you can play the banished monster into your hand and summon them. Idk which other decks are good for coszmo, DD-/D i thinking at first, but i dont know any card.
Sprite as an engine needed to be tinkered with on the ban list. It’s a splashable engine which puts a target on its back. Will be interesting to see if these changes pop into a tcg or ocg ban list in the near future. Dragon ruler especially.
This is why I like playing ygo omega more, because you can select what type of ban list you want to go by, tcg,Ocg, goat, and master duel, unlimited,etc. and all the cards are free
Branded is slowly moving away from branded fusion and so many cards can grad it from graveyard and springans kitt can get it from the banished zone. So it honestly does not change much.
There's some big brain lines with branded in high spirits + verte that tcg/ocg can't do. You don't even use the branded fusion in hand and it's immune to ash, that usually kills a branded turn.
@@izzydarkhart4144I mean it changes card consistency. Especially for people who mix it with rogue cards and don't want to strickly play Branded/Despia all the time. I've seen alot of hybrids like Dark Magician Branded, Buster Blader and Branded, as well other crazy combos. The hit feels bad for marketing in all honestly especially since Sactifier hasn't been released yet and Chimeras haven't been released either. Just feels like a bad move. The Tear and Ishizu hit had it coming though. Ishizu are just absolute menaces and hitting one of the actual fusion cards really puts a spin on it rather than a barebones slap like the Kitkallos ban. Personally though feel like they should have hit Elf over Jet and maybe limit Mind Hacker. It seems more like a problem at 3 than it would at 1. Especially if Dogmatika Ritual is gonna have full power starter to break extra decks.

The only thing i don't like about thos banlist is that they are hitting every deck who could defeat Kash meaning prepare for another tier 0 format but with the most toxic mechanic in Ygo instead of graveyard fusions...
My galaxy eyes support is coming next month, agito and merrli getting banned, master duel really trying to get me playing regularly again. Only way to make it official is if they add the red eyes support.
Somedays I feel like I was the only one not playing bishbalkin in an ftk deck. I liked using the card in my PUNK+Reptilianne decks, getting 5 searches from the Link and 5 draws from the lvl 6 synchro (can't remember their names lol) was damn near orgasmic every time it happened. Looks like another one of my fun decks is going into the trash can...
Woah, what a PUNCH in the stomach to tearlaments...oh man that feels good af. If I never see tearlaments again it'll still be too soon. Also the community once again shows how dence they are and keep forgetting how Konami operates with these banlists (primary example: Destiny HERO - Celestial). Truly 5Head and I wish Dkayed brainstormed about the banlist like he used to, it's very educational for me to learn about the impact certain cards have on the game, outside of the obvious (even though he does do it throughout the video anyways). I am a bit disappointed about grass, if anything...we all know that grass is glued to our opponent's hand so it'll be just that much more frustrating when they open it even at 1 anyways...now all of those 60-card decks are just pure rng on whether you pull it and play or don't and scoop...same goes for branded ig but at least that one can be searched in a variety of ways so it's not as bad, as well as the follow-up being possible through tragedy, on top of everything else. P.S. Petition for the devs to not implement the limits on cards on the website until Dkayed has uploaded his video so we don't get spoiled by him going through the decks...it happens every time and it's kinda annoying.
Honestly, pretty good banlist overall, but it's missing the one big hit D-Link needed. Either limiting Wyver/Collar/Striker Dragon, or banning Chaos Ruler.
Branded to 1 means more brain plays to get your best card back zo your hand more than once. I think this will make my rounds more complicated bit i love it
If you just started playing now, previously played DL, what would you build off the start? Have 9k gems, bought some of the masters; Solumn, Droplet and Ash( crafted 2 more ash)
I feel like Konami hits a lot of cards way past the time they are most relevant. Spright didn't need two hits in the current format. Maybe they're scared it'll be too strong when tear falls off? If that's the case though, you'd think they would have hit Dragon Link in some way. How is it not the best deck going forward, at least until new Kash stuff comes out? Rhongo getting banned now does basically nothing. They should have banned it back when it was actually a relevant problem in the meta with Phantom Knights. Branded Fusion to 1 is...annoying, and I don't personally like it. It doesn't quite kill the deck, but it's a hard hit for sure. The problem with that is that Branded Fusion actually makes a lot of non meta decks able to somewhat compete. Kinda glad for the tear hits. I was getting tired of tear rematches a month ago, but the way they hit the deck feels kinda wild. Guess they hit Merrli to further hit the potential Spright combos. Block dragon was definitely deserving a ban or a once per turn clause at the very least.
To incentivize us to buy a new pack, of course. Even if the new packs are better, some players will not buy them if their decks are still good enough. This is also the reason why we rarely see any cards being addressed when they are still new, even if they are clearly the problem, like Ishizu.
@@aciesara5444 It just seems like some of the choices are odd. They'll hit a deck like Spright pretty hard over an arguably stronger deck like Dragon Link. It'd be different if some of the choices were reflected in the TCG/OCG, but the Master Duel banlist is just a bit more unpredictable.
Banning gossip shadow prevented it's use in phantom knights. The only deck that can make him now are heroics and even then it takes a lot of investment. Imo they should've banned the card that cheats him out aka numbers eveil.
After the hits on Tearlaments I also thought in Dragon link going up. Time to play branded Despia but the hit on branded fusion hurts a lot also. Now you can negate it with a "negate the activation" card without thinking what if they have another in hand. Now Branded Despia, Super poly is the way to deal with Dragon Link. Protos also.
@@shingkung3974 D Link is an extra deck based deck. it can prolly counter it but without enough Interruptions DLink can somehow over power my 4k atk Alba Zoa after destroying my 4.5k atk White Relic. Dogmatika did Carry me to Diamond tho. Also the Branded nerf isn't that bad I don't think. You're just gonna have to restructure the deck Abit.
I'm surprised they let Kashtira go untouched. No primitive hits. But actually, then again, they prolly wanna sell Arise whenever they release it, to make money. Then after Kash rides at tier zero for a while, THEN they'll limit Arise to 1 and ban Mind Hax.
Im guessing they banned merrli to make it so tear doesnt get splashed into other decks anymore since you could just access that part lf the deck by summoning sprind. A weird change but i can see where they were coming from
This banlist is GOATED, tons of UR dust, toxic cards banned, top tier hits. The games gonna be good until full Kash comes in like a Nibiru (ironically).
This change looks awesome. I only don't like limiting branded fusion because I'm a branded player, but it's understandable. However, they should have definitely banned dimensional barrier.
I wanted more Lab hits more than anything to be honest. It’s legit unfair that they can consistently skip your turn with D Barrier and skip your next three turns with Eradicator.

With the 370 that I already have and with the 80 from the next battle pass I will probably not open from packs for the next 3 months. I already have a Labrynth, Dragon Link, Naturia Runick and all the Kashtira Cards. I love how free to play frandly is master duel
My branded tear deck is screwed. I’m down with MD. Haven’t played the physical card game in over 20yrs and don’t plan on it. 🤦🏾♂️ I don’t even play ranked-just casuals with friends and now I am done.
This is probably the biggest W of a banlist (imo) in a long time. Nadir Servant is awesome since I play Dogmatika, Girsu at 3 finally gives me a reason to play Orcust/Mekk Knights. Im probably gonna get hate for this but Im glad Branded Fusion is at 1. Fusing with the deck in any scenario is broken as hell and if the opp doesnt have an ash or some other way to stop it at turn 0, then they pretty much lose 80-90% of the time. I am sad about Grass since now I cant really play Skull Servants anymore but fair is fair. Block dragon gone kinda kills my magnet warriors so that sucks. And I was weirded out about the Merrli and Agido ban but after hearing Dkayed’s explanation, it makes sense and I think now it makes it a bit more fair to play. All and all, great banlist that will definitely shift alot of the meta and I also feel kinda bad for Spright players but there are so many variants of it so some variants are just more viable now so at least the deck isnt dead.
I don't really like the Branded Fusion limit. I understood it being at 2, but to 1? I'm not certain that this will kill the deck, but it's definitely going to drop in tier.
@@JoeyB_over_Lamar Branded Fusion helps a lot of non-meta decks quite a bit, and Branded isn't really toxic in comparison to other meta decks. It also has a high skill cap, so it's a fun deck to learn. I feel like it should've stayed at 2.

@djeagleplays1721 saying that dragon link will never be tier 1 is absurd lol. It's already been tier 1 multiple times in the TCG and OCG, and was already competing with tier 1 decks in Master Duel. Dragon Link is almost certainly going to be one of, if not the best deck in the format until a new pack releases or we get a new banlist. If you don't think Dragon Link is going to be tier 1 in the coming months, I'd love to hear what you think will be at its level or better. You act as if Dragon Link can't play through a few interruptions. If anything, they can play through more disruptions than Branded since Branded relies so much on resolving Branded Fusion specifically to start their plays, whereas Dragon Link just needs to spam out monsters to link summon which they can do very easily, especially with the Bystials. Kashtira is not strong enough to consistently compete with Dragon Link, and they probably won't be until Ariseheart is released. Floowandereeze is not consistently shutting down Dragon Link in any universe. They can hardly even deal with Borrelend. Also, saying that Branded is no skill in comparison to Dragon Link is just flat out incorrect. Dragon Link is a relatively easy deck to learn whereas Branded has a lot more variables and potential lines. Watch a pro play Branded, and then watch a pro play Dragon Link. The difference in the thought put into each play is pretty glaringly obvious.
@djeagleplays1721 your comments are just proving that you have a very basic understanding of the game. Are you playing in gold or something? Current Kashtira is more of a gimmick than anything right now than a coherent strategy. Fenrir is a strong card, but there's no solid Kashtira deck in the meta that is beating Dragon Link consistently. Where are you getting this information? Your whole argument hinges on "if Kashtira goes first and plays through multiple hand traps and actually manages to banish all of Dragon Links combo pieces." Yeah, good luck doing that consistently in Diamond or Master rank against Dragon Link players who have been playing the deck for years and know how to play against Kash. Also, in case you haven't noticed, the same arguments you are making against Dragon Link apply doubly so against Branded, a deck that actually relies on specific cards to start their combos. There's a reason that "Branded loses to 1 Ash Blossom" is basically a meme at this point. If Branded gets their 1 Branded Fusion banished face down, they have a pretty solid chance of just scooping. If Branded has their two Albion's banished face down, they are probably scooping. Dragon Link is not as reliant on singular cards as you are making them out to be. Dragon Link can play through getting their Striker negated, or getting their Romulus negated. They can play through getting their Borrelend banished. They still have the potential to just spam the board and kill you in one turn. Pure Branded cannot do that nearly as consistently if they lose their combo pieces.
I will not deny Rongo and tear were some of the main reasons I quit the game combine that with the fact that I don’t play meta-decks I mostly stick to stuff like Dragon maid, earth machine, and recently sword soul after seeing these changes that makes me want to come back and have some fun I have an idea.

grass at one is still believe it or not good. TCG had it one for a while and grass decks were still very prevalent. Mad about BF. Its paying for Tears sins at this point. Since Konami wants a proper Tear hit, they dont want people switching to branded tear.
Dlink/Runick stonks rising exponentially. They're really out here saying Spright/Tear aren't decks anymore, they're engines for other decks. Tear having Sprind be basically unplayable now and having their ceiling stunted is a big deal. If Jet gets banished now, no more searching starter/smashers/gamma burst whenever you feel like it. Haven't seen any decks with Block in a while, but yeah Adam is basically dead now. So now that Rhongobongo is banned, we can have Gossip back, right? You didn't forget about that, right...? *stares at Fraktall, Longyuan, Cobalt Sparrow, Researcher still on the banlist*
why would they? It came out 2 months ago, is an UR and it is at 3 in both TCG and OCG. But I agree that at some points it should be limited at least. Or Magnamhut banned
im pissed of for branded fusion and grass, branded was finally not just a lock toxic deck so if you lose against branded you lose against a player and not retribution. And grass just destroy every heavy decks, so much decks are being nerfed when maybe just one or two needs to be balanced, so much unfair
As a Branded player (I don't play Branded Tear so don't hurt me), I'm gonna have a very fun time rearranging my deck now. It's also going to be even more fun going against Kashtira. I was already trying out an Armored Dragon Kashtira deck, and I guess I have something else to do with another Blaster in that deck. Guess I won't be seeing as much Tear plays, even Kash exists. Finally, I guess I don't have to use the complaint of "Dragoon being banned despite that fact that Rhongo wasn't," because Rhongo is banned. Time to also invest in Orcust now, and as someone who hasn't put a single dime in this game, it shouldn't be that painful to make some orcust deck since I already have a bunch of staples. Also unban Dragoon still Konami.
Don't worry branded to 1 is not that drastic, I play branded in the TCG and never use it more than once, when the new support comes it will be more than playable and puppet lock will be live again.
As a pure branded player, that branded fusion to 1 is just unreasonable. Aluber was already set to 2 and they literally just knocked BF down to 2 last time. Whay did we do???? 😢

Noticed these small changes on the website the other day. I really like details like this and this looks pretty clean.
Especially for newer users this could be a nice help. I sometimes saw people get a bit confused about expired packs. And these "craftable only URs/ bundle URs" helps to seperate a deck on what is the main core and what is the expensive extra fluff.
Lets push for more Bundle deals with staples: TTT, DRNM and Veiler. Might as well get a bundle with every Ghost girl too. Who would not buy these?

Secret packs definitely need to come at a faster pace. I wanted to play Exosister, but without them having a secret pack, it was really expensive
One of my biggest gripes with MD is how weirdly they handle this secret pack/selection pack nonsense. Why is floo/exo/dinomorphia still not in a secret pack? Sword soul JUST got one, like why do they hold off on releasing packs so hard?

It's insane how many URs some archetypes have that are exclusive to selection packs. A deck like Libromancer looks fun to play but not worth paying all the crafts to make.

I like the way they hit tearlaments, hitting kit just make the deck feel so awkward to use but now tear is limited to 2 fusion summons every turn
Plus Kashtira can easily remove kitkallos with unicorn and Diablosis
To avoid spoiling yourself, you could react first to every change before looking up decks and then make a second round where you talk about the implications.
My honest opinion is that he already knows beforehand what the banlist is and just puts on a shocked face for video purposes and people who might not have seen it which is perfectly fine.

Definitely the best ban-list so far. Merrli banned, Agido banned, Block Dragon banned, Kelbek to 1 etc. I admit the Branded Fusion hit was kinda heavy since I'm a Branded main but overall I'm happy with this ban-list.
D.D Crow doesn’t do much since BF would still be accessible through Springans Kitt, which is most likely gonna be played at more than 1 now. (Not to mention, Sprind the Irondash Dragon is a really good Albaz fusion target)

Yeah, Aluber is looking a lot less interesting compared to springans Kitt with branded fusion at 1. Also, once branded gets the newest support in master duel, branded fusion will not be as crucial.

I was using a bunch of Tearlament stuff in my Orcust build, so while it's mildly annoying to see it hit, I was advocating for those 2 specific bans (Merrli and Agido) for a while. I've actually gotten surprisingly effective use out of Azalea, Zeke and H.A.M.P. in my build for the Light v. Dark event, which is a modified version of an experimental Orcust Striker build I'm working on(that's currently using Tearlaments as a mill engine).
Earth Box is nearly dead without Block Dragon now until the Superheavy Samurai support comes out. So that must be on the way soon. Maybe.
Dragon Link, Branded and Dracoslayer are probably the best Bystial users, though Dogmatika, Orcust and even Sky Striker have managed to make decent use out of them too so that's something to consider for why they left it alone.
The only way to search Grass until Triple Tactic Thrust comes out is Left Arm Offering, which only really Branded(which might consider searching Fusion with it now), Witchcrafter and Infernoids are fine with(and I guess a couple other banish focused decks off my radar, MAYBE Ghoti likes it with certain hands?).
Rhongo is fine in the OCG since XYZ Encore, the new trap Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon, and even sometimes Herald of the Abyss are all played to deal with both Purrely and Kashtira. But MD can't side so you can't expect as many people to have those as contingencies.
Bishbaalkin gets used in some annoying SHS FTKs in the near future, so they probably wanted it gone since it's already an option in P.U.N.K. and formerly Scrap Dinos.
This list will be considered good but it's very clear to me they are tired of players using the same decks from months ago. This was done to force people to buy the new cards

As a Evil Twins mixed with Spright player, I'm kinda surprised and somewhat glad (cuz I actually find them fun when mixed with other decks like Tri-Brigades and Evil Twins) that Sprights didn't get hit as hard, like I honestly thought they were gonna at least limit Spright Elf to 1 or Gigantic or do some banning with one of them but instead they kept those around and limited Jet to 1 which to be honest, I might have to test but I don't think is much of a nerf? as 1 is usually what I personally summon per duel before someone presses the surrender button. lol at least I summon 1 and you can recycle that one with Elf if you need it for searching Gamma Burst or something that can give me the win, assuming I don't get negated etc.

If Konami was smart there would actually be an average power level and there would be more variety in the game. Fun deck vs deck that can win wouldn’t be as big a distinction. But that requires long term planning and money grab is antithetical to that.

Even though I haven't played the deck for a while, I'm not thrilled with the Branded Fusion hit. Limiting it to 1 copy basically ruins the deck.
Only on a casual level. Especially ones branded gets the new support like Quem and there synchros. Branded fusion is barely used as much in current TCG. Plus, springans kitt can get branded fusion from the gave yard and banished zone. So branded in platinum may not change too much, just changing the deck around.
No branded will still be fine. There's a lot of ways to get branded working.

Branded at 2 was completely fine block dragon and rhongo needed to go

As much as this ban list is good, im going to hate that this spells the doom of chaos ruler dragon. I use him in so many rogue decks that benefit off of him but i do understand why he'll be getting shot down in the upcoming ban list. Just gotta wait for his time to fall.
Rogue and casual decks are always the biggest victims of banlists, since moves that barely tap top meta tend to completely crush them.
That said, Chaos Ruler is a disgusting, disgusting card who never should have existed, so I won’t cry if he gets banned… then again, OCG seems to really like him and Snow, so sadly I don’t share your certainty that he’s in any danger.

I wish that when Konami decides to ban cards like Chaos Ruler, they go back to rogue decks that rely on a card like that and give them their own archetype-locked version, even if it's a little weaker. Rogue decks need a card like that to make plays. For meta decks, it's one of 20 plays they'll make that turn and they'll barely miss it. They'll find some new powerful cards from other rogue decks and abuse them until they get banned too.
As a chaos player I hope they don't but at least have my chaos synchro's now to compensate if they take my Ruler. Funny that the dragon rulers are slowly coming back when we will probably lose Chaos ruler.
The forbidden list is just awesome, especially rhongo cuz there's just no option but to surrender and save time. Block was also hell lot of annoying with just drawing 3 cards again and again like crazy, branded fusion really didn't deserve it though, time to add verte for easy access lol and better add some chainlink blocks so it doesn't just get ash everytime

Spright, DLink, Swordsoul, Labrynth and Rikka are what I would expect to compete for tier one contender, with some other decks like Pend Mage, Branded, Sky Strikers, Runick variants, Punk variants, Traptrix and Kashtira slops sitting at the lower tiers. Tear is also very much playable, just less consistent with lower paper ceiling. If you're new I recommend either spending in the Swordsoul or Lab packs, easy to get into decks with decent ceiling
My only complaint really is that I wish all the dragon rulers were at 1. I played them back in the day and loved them. I also know how strong they can be. I just want my boys back in a fair way lol.
Reduce the cost of gems. People will spend more money and be willing to try different decks

You could also use left arm offering for coszmo Deck, banish for field spell, when it was destroyed (when it was negated mostly), you searching it for 2 times in a row (which needs 2-3 negates to stop that) and you can play the banished monster into your hand and summon them. Idk which other decks are good for coszmo, DD-/D i thinking at first, but i dont know any card.
Sprite as an engine needed to be tinkered with on the ban list. It’s a splashable engine which puts a target on its back. Will be interesting to see if these changes pop into a tcg or ocg ban list in the near future. Dragon ruler especially.
This is why I like playing ygo omega more, because you can select what type of ban list you want to go by, tcg,Ocg, goat, and master duel, unlimited,etc. and all the cards are free

Branded is slowly moving away from branded fusion and so many cards can grad it from graveyard and springans kitt can get it from the banished zone. So it honestly does not change much.

There's some big brain lines with branded in high spirits + verte that tcg/ocg can't do. You don't even use the branded fusion in hand and it's immune to ash, that usually kills a branded turn.

I've seen alot of hybrids like Dark Magician Branded, Buster Blader and Branded, as well other crazy combos. The hit feels bad for marketing in all honestly especially since Sactifier hasn't been released yet and Chimeras haven't been released either. Just feels like a bad move.
The Tear and Ishizu hit had it coming though. Ishizu are just absolute menaces and hitting one of the actual fusion cards really puts a spin on it rather than a barebones slap like the Kitkallos ban.
Personally though feel like they should have hit Elf over Jet and maybe limit Mind Hacker. It seems more like a problem at 3 than it would at 1. Especially if Dogmatika Ritual is gonna have full power starter to break extra decks.

Somedays I feel like I was the only one not playing bishbalkin in an ftk deck. I liked using the card in my PUNK+Reptilianne decks, getting 5 searches from the Link and 5 draws from the lvl 6 synchro (can't remember their names lol) was damn near orgasmic every time it happened. Looks like another one of my fun decks is going into the trash can...
Woah, what a PUNCH in the stomach to tearlaments...oh man that feels good af. If I never see tearlaments again it'll still be too soon. Also the community once again shows how dence they are and keep forgetting how Konami operates with these banlists (primary example: Destiny HERO - Celestial). Truly 5Head and I wish Dkayed brainstormed about the banlist like he used to, it's very educational for me to learn about the impact certain cards have on the game, outside of the obvious (even though he does do it throughout the video anyways).
I am a bit disappointed about grass, if anything...we all know that grass is glued to our opponent's hand so it'll be just that much more frustrating when they open it even at 1 anyways...now all of those 60-card decks are just pure rng on whether you pull it and play or don't and scoop...same goes for branded ig but at least that one can be searched in a variety of ways so it's not as bad, as well as the follow-up being possible through tragedy, on top of everything else.
P.S. Petition for the devs to not implement the limits on cards on the website until Dkayed has uploaded his video so we don't get spoiled by him going through the decks...it happens every time and it's kinda annoying.

I feel like Konami hits a lot of cards way past the time they are most relevant. Spright didn't need two hits in the current format. Maybe they're scared it'll be too strong when tear falls off? If that's the case though, you'd think they would have hit Dragon Link in some way. How is it not the best deck going forward, at least until new Kash stuff comes out? Rhongo getting banned now does basically nothing. They should have banned it back when it was actually a relevant problem in the meta with Phantom Knights.
Branded Fusion to 1 is...annoying, and I don't personally like it. It doesn't quite kill the deck, but it's a hard hit for sure. The problem with that is that Branded Fusion actually makes a lot of non meta decks able to somewhat compete.
Kinda glad for the tear hits. I was getting tired of tear rematches a month ago, but the way they hit the deck feels kinda wild. Guess they hit Merrli to further hit the potential Spright combos.
Block dragon was definitely deserving a ban or a once per turn clause at the very least.
To incentivize us to buy a new pack, of course. Even if the new packs are better, some players will not buy them if their decks are still good enough. This is also the reason why we rarely see any cards being addressed when they are still new, even if they are clearly the problem, like Ishizu.
Gonna keep hitting Spright so Elf will not be banned lol.
@@aciesara5444 It just seems like some of the choices are odd. They'll hit a deck like Spright pretty hard over an arguably stronger deck like Dragon Link. It'd be different if some of the choices were reflected in the TCG/OCG, but the Master Duel banlist is just a bit more unpredictable.
Banning gossip shadow prevented it's use in phantom knights. The only deck that can make him now are heroics and even then it takes a lot of investment. Imo they should've banned the card that cheats him out aka numbers eveil.

After the hits on Tearlaments I also thought in Dragon link going up. Time to play branded Despia but the hit on branded fusion hurts a lot also. Now you can negate it with a "negate the activation" card without thinking what if they have another in hand. Now Branded Despia, Super poly is the way to deal with Dragon Link. Protos also.

Im guessing they banned merrli to make it so tear doesnt get splashed into other decks anymore since you could just access that part lf the deck by summoning sprind. A weird change but i can see where they were coming from

This banlist is GOATED, tons of UR dust, toxic cards banned, top tier hits. The games gonna be good until full Kash comes in like a Nibiru (ironically).

This change looks awesome. I only don't like limiting branded fusion because I'm a branded player, but it's understandable. However, they should have definitely banned dimensional barrier.

I wanted more Lab hits more than anything to be honest. It’s legit unfair that they can consistently skip your turn with D Barrier and skip your next three turns with Eradicator.

To be fair, if you take away those cards, it gets much harder to win with any consistency. Lab is dependent on very strong traps to be viable.

I'm surprise they hit so many UR's. Il get 120 UR from this ban alone. With the 370 that I already have and with the 80 from the next battle pass I will probably not open from packs for the next 3 months. I already have a Labrynth, Dragon Link, Naturia Runick and all the Kashtira Cards. I love how free to play frandly is master duel
My branded tear deck is screwed. I’m down with MD. Haven’t played the physical card game in over 20yrs and don’t plan on it. 🤦🏾♂️ I don’t even play ranked-just casuals with friends and now I am done.
Every time I see Ichizu cards limited or banned I know its a good banlist, even more seeing all of the other cards affected.
This is probably the biggest W of a banlist (imo) in a long time. Nadir Servant is awesome since I play Dogmatika, Girsu at 3 finally gives me a reason to play Orcust/Mekk Knights.
Im probably gonna get hate for this but Im glad Branded Fusion is at 1. Fusing with the deck in any scenario is broken as hell and if the opp doesnt have an ash or some other way to stop it at turn 0, then they pretty much lose 80-90% of the time. I am sad about Grass since now I cant really play Skull Servants anymore but fair is fair. Block dragon gone kinda kills my magnet warriors so that sucks. And I was weirded out about the Merrli and Agido ban but after hearing Dkayed’s explanation, it makes sense and I think now it makes it a bit more fair to play.
All and all, great banlist that will definitely shift alot of the meta and I also feel kinda bad for Spright players but there are so many variants of it so some variants are just more viable now so at least the deck isnt dead.
I don't really like the Branded Fusion limit. I understood it being at 2, but to 1? I'm not certain that this will kill the deck, but it's definitely going to drop in tier.

@@JoeyB_over_Lamar Branded Fusion helps a lot of non-meta decks quite a bit, and Branded isn't really toxic in comparison to other meta decks. It also has a high skill cap, so it's a fun deck to learn. I feel like it should've stayed at 2.

@djeagleplays1721 saying that dragon link will never be tier 1 is absurd lol. It's already been tier 1 multiple times in the TCG and OCG, and was already competing with tier 1 decks in Master Duel. Dragon Link is almost certainly going to be one of, if not the best deck in the format until a new pack releases or we get a new banlist. If you don't think Dragon Link is going to be tier 1 in the coming months, I'd love to hear what you think will be at its level or better.
You act as if Dragon Link can't play through a few interruptions. If anything, they can play through more disruptions than Branded since Branded relies so much on resolving Branded Fusion specifically to start their plays, whereas Dragon Link just needs to spam out monsters to link summon which they can do very easily, especially with the Bystials. Kashtira is not strong enough to consistently compete with Dragon Link, and they probably won't be until Ariseheart is released. Floowandereeze is not consistently shutting down Dragon Link in any universe. They can hardly even deal with Borrelend.
Also, saying that Branded is no skill in comparison to Dragon Link is just flat out incorrect. Dragon Link is a relatively easy deck to learn whereas Branded has a lot more variables and potential lines. Watch a pro play Branded, and then watch a pro play Dragon Link. The difference in the thought put into each play is pretty glaringly obvious.
@djeagleplays1721 your comments are just proving that you have a very basic understanding of the game. Are you playing in gold or something? Current Kashtira is more of a gimmick than anything right now than a coherent strategy. Fenrir is a strong card, but there's no solid Kashtira deck in the meta that is beating Dragon Link consistently. Where are you getting this information? Your whole argument hinges on "if Kashtira goes first and plays through multiple hand traps and actually manages to banish all of Dragon Links combo pieces." Yeah, good luck doing that consistently in Diamond or Master rank against Dragon Link players who have been playing the deck for years and know how to play against Kash.
Also, in case you haven't noticed, the same arguments you are making against Dragon Link apply doubly so against Branded, a deck that actually relies on specific cards to start their combos. There's a reason that "Branded loses to 1 Ash Blossom" is basically a meme at this point. If Branded gets their 1 Branded Fusion banished face down, they have a pretty solid chance of just scooping. If Branded has their two Albion's banished face down, they are probably scooping. Dragon Link is not as reliant on singular cards as you are making them out to be. Dragon Link can play through getting their Striker negated, or getting their Romulus negated. They can play through getting their Borrelend banished. They still have the potential to just spam the board and kill you in one turn. Pure Branded cannot do that nearly as consistently if they lose their combo pieces.

I will not deny Rongo and tear were some of the main reasons I quit the game combine that with the fact that I don’t play meta-decks I mostly stick to stuff like Dragon maid, earth machine, and recently sword soul after seeing these changes that makes me want to come back and have some fun I have an idea.

grass at one is still believe it or not good. TCG had it one for a while and grass decks were still very prevalent. Mad about BF. Its paying for Tears sins at this point. Since Konami wants a proper Tear hit, they dont want people switching to branded tear.
Block Dragon Banned can only mean SHS is coming in the next releases.

They're really out here saying Spright/Tear aren't decks anymore, they're engines for other decks. Tear having Sprind be basically unplayable now and having their ceiling stunted is a big deal. If Jet gets banished now, no more searching starter/smashers/gamma burst whenever you feel like it. Haven't seen any decks with Block in a while, but yeah Adam is basically dead now.
So now that Rhongobongo is banned, we can have Gossip back, right? You didn't forget about that, right...? *stares at Fraktall, Longyuan, Cobalt Sparrow, Researcher still on the banlist*

im pissed of for branded fusion and grass, branded was finally not just a lock toxic deck so if you lose against branded you lose against a player and not retribution. And grass just destroy every heavy decks, so much decks are being nerfed when maybe just one or two needs to be balanced, so much unfair

As a Branded player (I don't play Branded Tear so don't hurt me), I'm gonna have a very fun time rearranging my deck now. It's also going to be even more fun going against Kashtira. I was already trying out an Armored Dragon Kashtira deck, and I guess I have something else to do with another Blaster in that deck. Guess I won't be seeing as much Tear plays, even Kash exists. Finally, I guess I don't have to use the complaint of "Dragoon being banned despite that fact that Rhongo wasn't," because Rhongo is banned. Time to also invest in Orcust now, and as someone who hasn't put a single dime in this game, it shouldn't be that painful to make some orcust deck since I already have a bunch of staples.
Also unban Dragoon still Konami.

Don't worry branded to 1 is not that drastic, I play branded in the TCG and never use it more than once, when the new support comes it will be more than playable and puppet lock will be live again.
