Quick heads-up: I specifically did not cover Rules of Engagement or Smart Orders because I found it easier to get into the game ignoring them for starters (plus some of them don't work consistently).
Coming from Red dragon, I'm excited get my hands on this. I loved Regiments take on the wargames and other rts. I feel like I'll end up playing Warno, Regiments and broken arrow alot
Because of the infantry squad changes do squads loose the ability to use weapons if that soldier is killed? So no more 1 man squad with a rifle, machine gun, & rocket launcher?
I had a US marine squad that survived through hell, killed dozens of enemy infantry, destroyed ~10 different transports, a tank and then they got ambushed by a fucking BMPT. All 15 men were gone, except for one marine. Dude lost his whole squad, but i sent him to got through forrest on attack move and he went on violent rampage against enemy MTLB, logis and skrejets transports, destroyed a Mi-4 recon helicopter and shortly after he died like a hero to napalm plane.
You really need to start pushing out WARNO tutorials. There's gonna be a huge interest in that. Also updates as Eugen makes changes to the game. Easy content.
Not really easy content as they take some time to make haha. Also Stealth17 has already uploaded a short beginner intro: th-cam.com/video/IOJCegd0rPA/w-d-xo.html
Never seen any of your videos before mate, but I've been on the fence about WARNO and seeing this quite nice breakdown of the major features has given me even more to think about and I'm leaning towards getting it while it has money off. Basically my bank account hates you right now!
WARNO is great haha! The UI is horrendous but that's the only knock I have and even then you can turn HUD and Icons to 'small' in the settings and its fine. Gameplay wise is feels good. A little bit more campy than SD2 or WGRD but that's fine. I feel like planes could have an increase to the time it takes to reach the map once you call in. Maps are OK, not a fan of the one with the island in the middle but maybe after playing it a bit more it will be OK.
Agree however turning the icons to minimal means you cant read the unit names as its too small, just wish you could get a small unit graphic next to the name same as WG
Just what I needed, coming from SD2 and playing Red Dragon I really missed being able to setup first, and the LoS tool, just those two things alone mean I will never play Wargame Red Dragon again, but buy Warno :)
This is not meant as a "which game is better" video, but more as to which mechanics work differently etc. It is supposed to make it easier to get into the game. Think of it as a introduction into WARNO.
I love these QoL updates, that's why after playing SD2 I can't go back to Wargame anymore it's such a good game. I wish AI wasn't so bad tho it can be annoying at times.
The whole "Divisions" thing is what broke this shit for me. Its like BF2042 removing classes and adding a bunch of "heroes". I want to play as the whole of US or Soviet Union and then customize my god damn army like Red Dragon, is that too much to ask???
Lots of great mechanics from Steel Division, like the leaders, divisions, veterancy, variety of INF units, etc. I like what I see. Might even get me to play a modern themed game
@@JD-jc5hg I don't understand why people say Navy was broken? Ships spamming missiles on each other is what Naval Warfare is. It adds to the game and does not take away from the game.
@@filipinorutherford7818 That's why it's fucking shit. You could add so many more factors of realism which just slows down the game play & isn't fun. You're telling me with a straight face that you find Naval Warfare in Red Dragon fun?
@@JD-jc5hg yep no problem with it. I just wish they had more variety of nations ships. I could get an ANZAC fleet together maybe. I have played Command Modern Operations and that is what ships do spam missiles. I believe Navy brings more to the game than takes away.
Hope Warno in not exactly same as WG-RD Red Dragon was set up for Ai to cheat if singe player tends to know UR exact Location even if you were heavily concealed in wooded or forested Area's that for me was the Biggest Bug"A" Boo For WG-RD not to mention ur Air battles didn't last to long in flight without getting shotdown precisely was BS and the Launching of a million ground missiles hitting every one of UR units, made me regret buying it. Saw a few videos on Warno same deal but seemed playable hopefully no Ai cheating "Again"? so far seemed ok i don't have it yet not looking to buy yet.
wargame has better UX quality imo (yeah i know warno's textures are better). the color of warno is like too much blue and my eyes cant take it more than 5 mins. explosion effect looks terrible (like games before 2008). UI design is awful. Wargame might lack of some good features compare to warno but i prefer wargame
Thanks for the video. I'll definitely for watch before trying WARNO. Do you know if there is a way to "try" WARNO with a possibility of refund or using something like Gamepass? (Yep your viewer base is spoiled and wants guide on everything.)
You know what i'm doing right now? Starting with empty deck, i add one unit at a time and after each addition i fire up 4v1 skirmish with 3 AI hard teammates against one easiest AI. This way i can mess around with the new units, see what they can do, enjoy them from close pespecrive. Games like this usually last a couple of minutes, 10min max. As i slowly add units and get fsmiliar with them i'm starting to like some units more thsn the other ones. And that's the foundation for making your own custom deck. I'm sure that i wpuld get recked if i went online, but then i could start to adjust to the MP, which is really not beginner friendly i guess. Just be patient and tske it slowly, while having fun at the same time
I know that English is not the devs first language but I really wish that they would change "Autonomy" to "Loiter Time" and "Trajectory" to "Transit Time"
At the moment I think it sucks. Don't enjoy it at all. But it's very early days. I certainly hope we can have slightly bigger decks/divisions. But I felt same about Red dragon. War game ALB is still the best
Warno is so bad, it is impossible to even try to compare those games. its like comparing actual garbage to a polished diamond. Even Steel Division was better, which is funny to say because it is infinitly worse than wargame...
I did not like how in SD2 they hide the chat area. In WGRD it was clearly seen and there is an active community. SD2 I cannot remember the last time I had a conversation with anyone.
Yea I think so far that's the most disappointing part of Warno...I much prefer being able to fully customize my deck as opposed to only being able to pick templates some Eugene dude liked. It also restricts some fun strategies found in WG that just wouldnt be possible in Warno.
Quick heads-up: I specifically did not cover Rules of Engagement or Smart Orders because I found it easier to get into the game ignoring them for starters (plus some of them don't work consistently).
Can tanks move through forest?
can you pls show and explain them for those who do not own the game yet and still plays wargame)

in SD 1 man can shoot all weapons but with lower RoF

Currently the most useful WARNO video. Thank you!
