- In this new episode of kitabwala, saurabh dwivedi talks to A. N. D. Haksar, retired IFS and Sanskrit scholar on his new book tale of wonder, published by penguin classic. Tale Of Wonder is English translation of Sanskrit epic Katha Kautukam. katha kautukam was written by kashmiri sanskrit poet Shrivara in 15th century.
In katha kautukam, shrivara adapted the story of yusuf va zulekha written by persian scholar jami. in this book yusuf gets help by indian gods like shiv and vishwakarma etc. this adaptation is beautiful confluence of indian and persian tradition.

And also transliteration of Sanskrit and Vedic text with the help of diacretical marks in Romnagari Script, which is my expertise.

One speciality of the interview I must mention that Haksar saab is no doubt an extraordinary person, but so is the interviewer Mr. Saurabh Dwidedi. Saurabh has really enveloped the interview so well that every thing he says in between, compliments the subject. I had seen Saurabh taking interview of Ms. Maithili Thakur, the legendary singer from Mithila. There also he complimented Maithili so well... I laughed so much on Saurabh's comments on 'Kale 1 kaa tablaa' . Saurabh, you get the best out of all these wonderful people, let it be (folk) music or Old Sanskrit literature..

Evidently an intellect. The Kashmiri language originates from the Proto-Aryan language from which ancient Sanskrit and Avestan is derived. Thus the similarity of Kashmiris to both languages. This Proto-Aryan people-language split between the Avestan Aryans and Rigvedic Aryans in Central Asia and touching Indian subcontinent. Kashmiri has now picked up a few Semitic words after the fine Semitic Islam arrived in this region. In general Kashmiri remains a pure Dardic Aryan language. This shows how our culture was evolving in such long time ago when printed media was not popular. The stories from Islamic roots inspired a Sanskrit scholar and got imbibed in his poems with literal beauty. Many people are arguing about the story being wrong.....that's where they are mistaken the Sanskrit poem did not narrated the tale of the Islamic version ...rather he got inspired from that story and utilized to create his own.... Jaise Haider movie Shakespeare ki Othello se inspired hai.....Aur humare author Islamic version aur aur to aur Bible wali version ke bare mein knowledge rakhte hai... video ke starting mein hi unhone bola....Just understand
