Saw the interview few months back. Read the book in lockdown. Saw the interview again. Can understand the pain of pandits lived in Kashmir. Book is full of emotions, trust, struggle, relationship. About the pandits lived in Kashmir. One must read this book.
Such a horrifying story... should not happen with any community...now govt should help rehabilitate and resettle them back to Kashmir... atleast we get to know their story and people are talking about it...
And if you going to give me example of gujrat or 1984 let me be clear. . 1984 was politically motivated roots and gujrat was reaction of peaceful community burning 60 saints alive in train. . So go to 50+ Islamic countries and see the situation of other religion , it might help you to open your eyes and accept that muslims are brainwashed . I saw the entire interview with great interest. I too am a Kashmiri Pandit migrant. Rahul is my good friend and his narration and explanation brought back old memories. I couldn't stop tears rolling down my cheeks and everything came up in front of me once again after three decades as if it had happened just yesterday. Yes I hundred percent endorse what Rahul said about our parents stressing on giving us education in spite of all the difficulties. That's what has helped us throughout and for which we will always be proud of and thankful to our parents. I've lived in Afghanistan in 2001 for about three months during and after Taliban rule. There iI found that roots to Kashmir disturbances were as far away as in Afghanistan. Congratulations lallantop and congratulations Rahul.

This is not enough. You have to raise voice. Muslims have to stay nearby Hinduism and stop associating whatever is happening in world. Otherwise, I being a largely secular/moderate Hindu, can't guarantee your safety for long. You have to stay away from Arabisation/Wahhabism/Jihad/Deobandi/Shia/Sunni and be near Sufism.

Thank you Sourabh for doing this episode and thank you Rahul Pandita for sharing ur story. I am 32 and my parental home is close to Pathankot. I heard ur stories from my parents but got involved in various texts and interviews from 2008 onwards when i came to delhi. Few things which I really connect with my family are:
1. A big house ( my parents are investing in our home for past 15 yers). So i connect to that what really mean to have a home and you put ur life into it.
2. Your dad working into ur garden and that routine which we used to follow and live in our homes.
So it felt like someone is telling my story until the dark night started. We all should be ashamed off that an entire community was thrown out, so many murders and what we did is Nothing. I hope that one day they all can go back to their homes but will it be possible?
Thanks saurabh.. with the help of kitabwala we came to know some historic facts about Kashmir. Even educated people of india doesn't know about Kashmir so please keep on discussing issues of kashmir and kashmiris..

एक कटु सत्य. यह वही कश्मीरी पंडित हैं जो हमें कहते थे कि आपके भारत में ऐसा होता है हमारे कश्मीर में ऐसा नहीं होता.. यह अस्सी के दशक की बात है.. किसी भी भारतीय सरकार के कर्मचारी चाहे वो ब्राम्हण ही क्यों न हो उसको कश्मीरी पंडित किराये पर मकान भी नहीं देते थे .. बात बेहद कड़वी है लेकिन यह उस समय की असलियत है..
इस समस्या का जिम्मेदार कश्मीरी पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू ही है,नेहरू ने ही राजा हरीसिंह के खिलाफ षडयन्त्र करने में शेख अब्दुला की मदद की।पंडितों के कहने पर ही उनके हितो की रक्षा के लिए ही धारा 370 लगवायी थी।

Excellent presentation as usual. Being a student of History n Archaeology l really liked the episode very much. But my mind has been saddened to hear about the plight of Kashmiri Pandit s l could feel the same feeling as l have visited the valley two years back.It is also very unfortunate that our pseudo secularists n pseudo communist just kept quite at this burning issue. So also our paid media.l was studying Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology in the lnstitute of Archaeology, Tilak Marg, opp Supreme court We were engaged in excavations of Harsh ka Tilla,Kurukshtra, Haryana. When we were back in Delhi, one could feel as if nothing happened to our capital. Our communist leaders, who called themselves barking watchdogs of democracy kept mum.l am really very sensitive about it because my family also left their everything behind and reached kolkata empty handed from Bangladesh in 1947_48 Many of my relatives were in lndian prison, fighting the freedom movement of our country. I saw them in the walls of Cellular jail in Andamans. Thank you.
कश्मीरि पंडितो पर हुए सभी जुल्मो के लिए हमारी पिछली पीढ़ी जिमेदार हे जिन्होंने ऐसी सरकार चुनी जो इनके लिए उस वक्त कुछ नहीं कर पायी
दो कौड़ी के लोग नेता तो बन जाते हैं लेकिन इतिहास उन्हें मालूम नहीं होता। क्या आपको मालूम है कि जिस दिन जम्मू कश्मीर से 4 लाख से. अधिक हिन्दुओं को भगाया गया वह तारीख थी 19 जनवरी 1990, उस दिन केंद्र में विश्वनाथ प्रताप सिंह प्रधानमंत्री थे, जनता दल गठबंधन की सरकार थी। असली राष्ट्रवादी बीजेपी के समर्थन से सरकार बनी थी और चल रही थी।
उस समय अलगाववादी नेता मुफ़्ती मुहम्मद सईद देश के गृहमंत्री थे जिनकी बेटी महबूबा मुफ़्ती हैं। उस समय जम्मू कश्मीर के राज्यपाल बीजेपी नेता जगमोहन थे। उस समय वहां राज्यपाल शासन था जो कि केंद्र सरकार के अधीन होता है।
अब जरा आप गौर कीजिए कि जम्मू कश्मीर से हिन्दुओं को भगाए जाने का आरोप किस पर लगता है..
कांग्रेस पर क्यो................?
लेकिन सरकार किसकी थी.....?
राज्यपाल किसका था...........?
एक्शन किसको लेना था.......?
किसकी जिम्मेदारी थी..........?
हिन्दुओं को सुरक्षा देना किस सरकार की जिम्मेदारी थी....?
फिर भी अगर कोई इसका आरोप कांग्रेस पर ही लगाए तो समझ लें कि वह जानबूझ कर अंजान है या पब्लिक को बेवकूफ बना रहा हे ।
