Declutter with Me! An Organized Closet Leads to an Organized Home

- I have many closet decluttering videos, mainly because, in my opinion, our clothing spaces should be decluttered twice a year. I have clients who have never removed everything from their closets or it has been years since a thorough clean-out. Today you will see the process I go through with clients as I help my good friend, Jenyfer. Come along; I hope you are inspired!

How often do you clean out your clothing closet? 😊
The before and after is so amazing! Who knew a closet could be beautiful?!
I agree!! 😁
Oh my goodness, Teresa!! Your help is invaluable!! I tell you, I absolutely LOVE, LOVE having you come in person to help me; I am so grateful for your expertise and kindness while going through a LOT of stuff! But also, your videos are so helpful to get me movitvated and have an idea of how to start somewhere else! I appreciate you so much! Thank you!!!
Side note: my closet is still so peaceful to walk into! Your system is working well!
I am so proud of you! it is so so fun to work with you. You always make me laugh and you are so open to new ideas.
Great job keeping everything neat and tidy! ❤️❤️❤️
It's helpful to hear you talk your way through things. I am going to try talking myself through the same things! Thanks, Anne
I’m so glad that was helpful. I appreciate your feedback because I always wonder how much of that processing I should include.
Thanks, Anne! 😊
I agree with it being helpful to hear your processing through your videos, Teresa! I say to myself some of the things I hear you say in order to coach myself through decluttering!

That is good to know!! 🥰
Beautiful job. I bet Jennifer is so happy.
Nice to hear the reasoning behind what was kept and what was donated.
Cheers
Hi Julie, thanks so much. I talked to Jen today and after 2 months, her closet is in great shape and she is loving it! Thanks for watching and for commenting!
Closet is actually the hardest for me, other areas of my home are simplified.
My hardest area is the kitchen, especially dishes. I have to have someone help me when I declutter or I would keep everything. 😂
I hope you find a way to manage your closet. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! What a transformation - such a beautiful space to come into once it was finished. I go through all my clothes once a year but it doesn't tend to take long as I hate clothes-shopping so I have a very minimal wardrobe. Books on the other hand...
Thanks, Pippa!
I’m with you on the clothes and the books! 😂
I haven’t done a full empty and clear out but I go in about once a month and take out a few items I haven’t worn. I do use the backwards hanger method, which really helped. Still too full but it’s a start. I enjoy your videos and look forward to the planner one!
Hi Shelly! Consistency is key and progress is better than perfection! Sounds like you are doing an amazing job! 😊
Good job Jen 👏 👍 👌
I agree!! 💖
It's amazing that you were able to go through all the clothing and other items that were stored in such a large closet. Everything is so beautifully organized now. I love your attention to detail and the idea to quickly spray paint all the shoe boxes black.
Haha… I felt like spraying the boxes was the nerdiest thing ever, but it really adds to the peaceful look of the closet.
Thanks, Jenny!
@@teresaelling-peacefulhome It's a little "extra" as my daughter would say but those small details add up to make a big difference!

😂😂😂
Tell her to use a rubber band at each end of the wrapping paper roll to keep the paper in place, and unwrinkled.
She could wear the red serape in place of the tan sweater that she didn't like, and got rid of.
Nice job!
Excellent ideas, Ann! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Wow it looks beautiful
Thank you! 😁
Great work! :) That special red dress should be sold not just donated!
Thanks! You are right, that dress may definitely be worth the extra work to sell. 😁
Thanks for watching and for commenting!
Well done girls! I must say I am jealous. Can you both come over & help me get organized & help with my gallery wall?!🥰😂🤗 love & miss you both!!
I was so excited to see your finished gallery wall. It is beautiful, and I knew you could do it! ❤️
To limit wrapping paper I purchase a pastel polka dot paper for birthday parties and baby showers. For Christmas I always get the same pattern paper. I am thinking of dying my mother of the bride dress a darker color for the next wedding.
It’s nice that you’ve been able to simplify your wrapping paper. It’s funny how we think we need variety but that’s really for us - the person receiving a gift is happy with whatever it is wrapped in.
I love your idea about changing the color of your dress! Brilliant! My daughter dyes her clothing a lot, whenever she wants to change or even to cover a stain.
I’m finding it very hard to find the time to actually declutter! My “free” time is taken up just doing the regular cleaning and straightening up! The routine housework!😢
I hear you. It is a real struggle to make time for decluttering!
Check out Dana K White - she is the one who does no mess decluttering, where the focus is working a few minutes at a time, not leaving a big mess.
Thanks so much for watching and for sharing. 😊
