Grandmaster Garry Kasparov isn't only one of the most brilliant chess players of all time, but unlike Sergey Karjakin, he is actually also a man with huge balls of steel and high social intelligence.

That’s easier said than done. When every channel was showing an American police officer with his knee on a dying man’s neck, most Americans sat at home and didn’t go out to protest. And it wasn’t because they didn’t care. They have families and lives they don’t want to jeopardize. Now imagine the stakes are even higher like they are in Russia, where the police can pick you up, throw you in a hole and never even prosecute you. No one wants to be that person, and no one wants that for their family and loved ones. And don’t forget that the police, security and army are also Russian, so clearly not every citizen is against Putin. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but there are so many factors to consider.

Since you want the US to be world police pick up a rifle and fly to Kiev?

I think Russia's decision to invade Ukraine has changed the world in ways we have not yet begun to concieve and the actions taken in the next few weeks will define the 21st century. On the other hand, I don't think nuclear war is likely, esspecially not is the way you described. Even a small scale nuclear war would re-shape the world in ways that are entirely unpredictable. And for that reason, it would only make sense for China/Russia/America to use nukes in the event that their own destruction was guarenteed.

      1. Dutch Volunteers are on the front in Ukrain.
      2. The whole population is gettering stuff and supplies for people in Ukrain and the refugees here.
      3. We are prepping for an all out war.

This Is Putin's "Winter War". Stalin tried to do the same exact thing to Finland in 1939. 21 Divisions and 450,000 troops started invading Finland on Nov 3rd. Stalin and the Generals thought it would take two to three weeks to whip the inferior Finnish military and overthrow the Government. Stalin sent a Marching Band to follow in the wake of the Russian militaries stroll into Helsinki. 4 months later, Russia had suffered 350,000 casualties to Finland's 70,000. Stalin was so confident that they sent the troops with only Fall weather provisions and apparel. After Finland did a great Job severing their supply lines many of the Russian casualties were due to freezing to death and frostbite. Russia came to the table and got a chunk of desired real-estate. But the cost and embarrassment took all the joy out of this Russian land grab. If you like reading war stories pick up the "Winter War", you wont be able to put it down.
Putin appears to have misjudged the Ukrainian's as much as Stalin misjudged the Finn's in 39'.

Putin literally just now threatened to use his nuclear arsenal if NATO continued to supply weapons to Ukraine. You may think he’s bluffing, but his actions are saying he’s gone nuts. And if there’s a nuclear attack, it’s a guaranteed mutual destruction of Russia, the US and Europe with a large chunk of Asia covered in nuclear waste and dying, only more slowly. If the West doesn’t stop him now, he’ll be after the Baltic states and that’s a guaranteed nuclear war.
