The 1st mention of raftel in the manga is just the japanese word Rafuteru without the english reading, so non-japanese country just simply wrote it as Raftel.. The official english reading "Laugh Tale" only shown recently in the Stampede movie
Luffy wanting to become a Pirate King is just a way for him to throw this biggest party. Pirate King are known to have a lot of treasures. Those treasures going to cover the cost of his biggest party ever.

I believe Shanks "Bet" his arm because he believed that Luffy was the one that would become "Joy Boy" and not Roger's child(Ace) like everyone else thought. He likely heard Luffy's true dream before the events of the flash back and that is what kept him on the island, and why shanks went through such lengths to protect Luffy. He kept it secret because he knew that if he ever told anyone about Luffy that the World goverment would go after him like thay did with Ace. Ace became a distraction that allowed Luffy to grow unhindered till the time when he could stand on his own. Ace protected Luffy just like a big brother.
@@asmmahfuz8569 after Roger was executed the Marines and World Government went around looking for Rouge/Child because they ether knew or at the very least suspected Roger had a possible child out in the world. They only stopped looking for a child after there was none born that they found with a connection to him. Rouge had to hold off the birth for TWENTY MONTHS! and even after that their were still rumors. Shanks WOULD have heard about all this and that is how he would have known/suspected. he could have even spoken to Garp when he went to the island and learned from him the existence of ace.

The best part about all of this is once Luffy finds the one piece and achieves his dream, the resulting party in the manga will be tiny compared to the irl party of all of us celebrating the results of his journey.

Now that you mention about the party from Roger's and Luffy's dream, just remembered Rayleigh's words when he spoke about his captain's death "I had never laughed as much as I did that night; I had never cried as much as I did, also I had never drank as much as then". Very interesting. Oden was also both laughing and crying when he read about Rogers execution. The smile fruit might be related to One Piece. I thought he was laughing because Roger trolled the world and started the pirate generation by making them believe that the One Piece is actually something worth in value while in fact it most likely isnt. And crying obviously for his death.

The whole point of the apology was that the fishmen werent able to get to the surface. JoyBoy couldnt keep his promise to raise Fishman Island to the surface, with help of Poseidon. Thats it
If LoO's thought holds up, Joy Boy was probably promising a huge party once the Fishmen made it to the surface. If Joy Boy and Luffy are paralleled that much, you know how much it would break Luffy to break a promise about a party

Right now, there arent any parallells between Joyboy and Luffy because we dont know much about Joy Boy except he couldnt keep his promise and he hid One Piece at laugh tale. This could fit in the theory, which I am not buying, but the reason for the apology is already known. I dont think that Joy Boy apologised for not having a big party. he apologised because he failed his friends and couldnt fulfill the dream of a whole civilization.

Hey we forgot about someone imported BB, he's the opposite of luffy but at the same time the exact same. WB said he isn't the one Roger is waiting for, but he also wants to become PK. He's also a D, but doesn't share the same traits as other D's. So what makes him different and the same as Luffy? My theory is that it's there dreams, Luffy wants to make friends a trow a party, i think BB wants to trow a party to make friends. It's the same but opposite, BB wants the end goal not the journey, Luffy is the opposite. This dream could stem from BB's past, he's a misguide D, a D that can not dream of the dawn because he doesn't sleep. He's stuck in an endless night trying to escape. BB's D doesn't stand for dawn as in bringers of the day, it's D for dusk bringers of the night.
All of Oda's double page covers are usually everyone partying, it's like he's trying to practice drawing parties so that way he can draw the largest party he's ever drawn. I can totally see that the final chapter of one piece being a party, ending the story in its purest form just fun. Starts with a party and ends with a party.

Interestingly Nami unintentionally communicated Luffy’s true dream to Enel, which seems to be hers too in part. “If I go along with you, I might as well be completely alone” Nami told Enel, indicating that similar to Luffy loneliness is something she feared. She continued “What’s the fun of getting everything you desired if you’re by yourself.” The implication being that doing the things that you love with your friends give the greatest joy. It’s interesting how Nami said all of that while holding onto Luffy’s hat. Perhaps this was a sneaky way for Oda to convey Luffy’s true dream through Nami on Skypiea. I think exchanging shake with the entire world will help Luffy create a biggest family he could ever dream of, ensuring that he’ll never be alone.
Since you mentioned Nami, I remembered how she got angry at Luffy for spending all their money is water 7 party. Maybe that's why Luffy wants to be the pirate king, to have enough money to buy meat for the greatest party ever. 😅

My god, Artur. I think you cracked it, truthfully. I've been pondering over this may times since chapter 1000 and even further back when Oda first made the connection during the Oden flashback. This makes perfect sense and fits so well with both Roger and Luffy. I see some people speculating that the dream is actually to have the most friends or be friends with the whole world but that doesn't really add up with Roger. Yes, Roger was a fun guy and was able to befriend all of those guys on his crew, but the power that Luffy has to naturally draw people to his side has never been said to have been shared by Roger. Sure Roger was friendly but I don't think he had his heart set on making friends while that's a huge part of who Luffy is and how he attracts people. Think back to the Ed War, Shiki's fleet facing down Roger's lone ship. Roger would've also had a fleet of his own by that point if he had the same aspirations as Luffy in regards to having tons of friends. But it was just his crew and himself. I think the shared dream being that of having a huge party makes much more sense for both characters and who they were.
Y'know, we often forget that One Piece, for all its genre bending, is still a pirate story. What is more indicative of pirates than partying? Luffy wants a fairytale, "and they lived happily ever after" ending to his story and totally mean it. A world where everyone gets to party is a truly free world.
I honestly don’t think Luffy’s dream could be that He had this dream as a child and told it to other children. Why would they be shocked that he wants to Party Hardy? Why would anyone react with confusion? Laugh? Consider it impossible? Or even give up an arm to bet on that dream? It has to be something simpleminded, outrageous, and universally unattainable in this world. What would a simpleminded kid want? What would a singleminded man want? What is something that anyone you ever told this too would either question your sanity, be absolutely dumbfounded, back you up 100%, or just simply laugh at the idea. We already experienced these kinds of reactions… when Luffy said he’s gonna go to the Sky. Luffy absolutely hates the idea of being trapped. When someone is enforcing it on others he wants to punch them, when someone is forcing it on themselves he punches them. He wants freedom. He just wants anything and everything to be possible with no limits whatsoever. As long as that doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s freedom. After he accomplishes his goal of being King of the Pirates, the freest man in the world. He’s gonna leave. Once he can achieve going where no man has gone before except for Roger and his crew, he’s gonna gonna 1UP them. Roger and crew learned all there is of this world. They have gone through every nook and cranny. Been to the deepest depths of the seas, as high as Sky Island, and everything in between. Yamato’s dream is to follow in Oden’s footsteps Luffy’s dream is rather similar, he wants to go where HE went, see what HE saw at his death, get the the island that HE found. And then go beyond. Once everything in this world is known or explored. The dream ends… but peoples dreams never end. Right? So what comes after? The next world. Luffy is gonna go to Space.

I believe Shanks "Bet" his arm because he believed that Luffy was the one that would become "Joy Boy" and not Roger's child(Ace) like everyone else thought. He likely heard Luffy's true dream before the events of the flash back and that is what kept him on the island, and why shanks went through such lengths to protect Luffy.
He kept it secret because he knew that if he ever told anyone about Luffy that the World goverment would go after him like thay did with Ace.
Ace became a distraction that allowed Luffy to grow unhindered till the time when he could stand on his own. Ace protected Luffy just like a big brother.

Hey we forgot about someone imported BB, he's the opposite of luffy but at the same time the exact same. WB said he isn't the one Roger is waiting for, but he also wants to become PK. He's also a D, but doesn't share the same traits as other D's. So what makes him different and the same as Luffy? My theory is that it's there dreams, Luffy wants to make friends a trow a party, i think BB wants to trow a party to make friends. It's the same but opposite, BB wants the end goal not the journey, Luffy is the opposite. This dream could stem from BB's past, he's a misguide D, a D that can not dream of the dawn because he doesn't sleep. He's stuck in an endless night trying to escape. Interestingly Nami unintentionally communicated Luffy’s true dream to Enel, which seems to be hers too in part.
“If I go along with you, I might as well be completely alone” Nami told Enel, indicating that similar to Luffy loneliness is something she feared. She continued “What’s the fun of getting everything you desired if you’re by yourself.” The implication being that doing the things that you love with your friends give the greatest joy.
It’s interesting how Nami said all of that while holding onto Luffy’s hat. Perhaps this was a sneaky way for Oda to convey Luffy’s true dream through Nami on Skypiea.
I think exchanging shake with the entire world will help Luffy create a biggest family he could ever dream of, ensuring that he’ll never be alone.

My god, Artur. I think you cracked it, truthfully. I've been pondering over this may times since chapter 1000 and even further back when Oda first made the connection during the Oden flashback. This makes perfect sense and fits so well with both Roger and Luffy.
I see some people speculating that the dream is actually to have the most friends or be friends with the whole world but that doesn't really add up with Roger. Yes, Roger was a fun guy and was able to befriend all of those guys on his crew, but the power that Luffy has to naturally draw people to his side has never been said to have been shared by Roger. Sure Roger was friendly but I don't think he had his heart set on making friends while that's a huge part of who Luffy is and how he attracts people.
Think back to the Ed War, Shiki's fleet facing down Roger's lone ship. Roger would've also had a fleet of his own by that point if he had the same aspirations as Luffy in regards to having tons of friends. But it was just his crew and himself. I think the shared dream being that of having a huge party makes much more sense for both characters and who they were.
Y'know, we often forget that One Piece, for all its genre bending, is still a pirate story. What is more indicative of pirates than partying? Luffy wants a fairytale, "and they lived happily ever after" ending to his story and totally mean it. A world where everyone gets to party is a truly free world.
I honestly don’t think Luffy’s dream could be that
He had this dream as a child and told it to other children. Why would they be shocked that he wants to Party Hardy? Why would anyone react with confusion? Laugh? Consider it impossible? Or even give up an arm to bet on that dream?
It has to be something simpleminded, outrageous, and universally unattainable in this world.
What would a simpleminded kid want? What would a singleminded man want? What is something that anyone you ever told this too would either question your sanity, be absolutely dumbfounded, back you up 100%, or just simply laugh at the idea.
We already experienced these kinds of reactions… when Luffy said he’s gonna go to the Sky.
Luffy absolutely hates the idea of being trapped. When someone is enforcing it on others he wants to punch them, when someone is forcing it on themselves he punches them.
He wants freedom. He just wants anything and everything to be possible with no limits whatsoever. As long as that doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s freedom.
After he accomplishes his goal of being King of the Pirates, the freest man in the world.
He’s gonna leave. Once he can achieve going where no man has gone before except for Roger and his crew, he’s gonna gonna 1UP them.
Roger and crew learned all there is of this world. They have gone through every nook and cranny. Been to the deepest depths of the seas, as high as Sky Island, and everything in between.
Yamato’s dream is to follow in Oden’s footsteps
Luffy’s dream is rather similar, he wants to go where HE went, see what HE saw at his death, get the the island that HE found.
And then go beyond.
Once everything in this world is known or explored. The dream ends… but peoples dreams never end. Right?
So what comes after?
The next world.
Luffy is gonna go to Space.

You doesn't have to make a grand goal out of a mole hill of reasons, Luffy just a kid, he simply fullfill his wonderful child-like dream and HE WILL MAKE IT DONE. Something that us adults lost after facing reality.

When you announced it was a Party I almost burst out laughing. Not in spite, just becuase it was so funny that if it was how the story ended in laughtale I could understand how they would all laugh. Also it was then it hit me that you are most likely right on this one.

Personally, idk. I am glad that he apparently uses it a lot to have friends and family over for celebrating. I rather dislike how some people have mansions and money and never seem to use it for anything except to have it.

Every second I can honestly feel all the 5 years of work you 've put into this, I love it. This theory is so good I don't even want to watch the rest of the 7 episodes, so I don't spoil the ending for myself. This feel so real, respect to all that hard work and love you've put into it tbh.
