That was amazing. IL VOLO are opera singers. Scott sang "Hallelujah" with his friend and Broadway star, Jessica Vosk, at her concert at Carnegie Hall about a year ago. Scott has very talented friends and they love to sing with him.
He really collects talented friends for sure. He goes in to an event and leaves with 5 new friends and 3 new projects. He's a networking genius (likely by not seeing it as a job and more just genuinely liking people and making music with folks.)
il Volo is a Italian trio. Gian Luca Ginoble is the one on the left & is a baritone who likes to sing Sinatra/crooner kinds of songs. Also the youngest by a few months. The one in the black suit is Ignacio Boschetto, a tenor. He likes to sing more pop-ish music. The amazing tenor in the other white suit is Piero Barone, the oldest by a year, and he loves to sing opera. His grandfather sang opera. Because of that, he got early operatic voice training. They all met when they entered separately in an Italian singing competition for children. Gian Luca was 14 & won the contest. A producer of the show suggested they form a trio and sing together. They are internationally well loved. They sell out HUGE stadiums in South America where the screams from young ladies are deafening. PBS has taped & aired 4 or 5 concerts. Their 1st one was when Gian Luca was 15, Ignacio had just turned 16 & Piero was 17. The Maestro Placido Domingo (1 of the original "3 Tenors") has taken them under his wing several times for concerts. They really do a lot of Classical (not always operatic), traditional songs. They are really a lot of fun in concert. Ignacio is a real jokester. Thrilled that you have discovered them. This also proves that Scott makes friends wherever he goes. He's a gem.

Haleluya es una composicion con una carga emotiva muy fuerte, que ha sido interpretada por magnificos cantantes, pero, las interpretaciones de Haleluya por ellos, tocan el Alma a un punto que las lagrimas salen involuntariamente.
Así pasa cuando escuchas a Piero Barone de IL Voló cantar ...un tenor lirico con personalidad...se escucha así...🤓 Y el del agudo es Ignazio Boschetto....tenor ligero...también de IL voló ....y sin olvidarnos de Gianluca Ginoble que inicia y armoniza angelicalmente ...los amo pero mi preferido siempre es Piero...me hace enchinar la piel.

Scott said that during rehearsal they just said "go with what feels right" which is why we get those extremely high notes from Scott there (with some genuine reactions from the others). Such an impressive and moving and fun performance. I like the contrast between the singing styles of those 3 and Scott. All super talented singers but using different techiniques.
Il Volo is amazing and all 3 are fantastic in their vocals. The one you were amazed by is Piero, a tenor spinto whose dream is to sing opera. I would love for you to react to Grande Amore in Eurovision 2015.

They all had incredible voices and there was magic in the music and singing, but they just did not pull it together like PTX. But wow! The way that one guy held that bravado sound was unbelievable! I’d like to hear some other singing by them. I didn’t feel they used Scott to his full potential. I have to say I enjoyed listening to each of them by listening to the song more than once.

Yes of course they are all trained opera singers…they simply sound „different“. love how honoured Scott was for singing with them. Im working in this genre and I know a lot of opera singers and theire training. I never would downgrade ptx because i love them to the bone , but this is just another type of singing and you cant compare it to pop vocals. And because you mentioned once the comperison between mitch and a countertenor…its verry complicated…if you are interested in how a opera counter tenor sound like: listen to jakub jozef orlinskis „vedro con mio diletto“!! He is one of the best upcoming countertenors in this genre and you can here the difference to mitch voice clearly. It's so interesting. But Like i said this is nothing bad about an opera trained voice and some who is not.
