- Former Islamist Extremist Sohail Ahmed explains how he was radicalised.
"I was raised and told that Britain was the enemy by my parents. I was considering doing something horrific."
In a recent interview, Sohail Ahmed, a former Islamic extremist who is now studying at the University of Cambridge, shared his experiences and insights into the rise of Islamist extremism. Ahmed, who has become an outspoken critic of extremist ideologies, sheds light on the factors that led him down a dangerous path and the importance of understanding the complexities of religion.
Ahmed's journey began in his childhood, where he was raised to believe that Britain was the enemy and that his loyalty belonged solely to his religion. He explains that his parents, who had themselves been brainwashed, played a significant role in shaping his extremist views. It was during the first wave of 'Salafisation', a form of Wahhabism or Salafism, that Ahmed became immersed in radical ideology.

HE mentions Saudi Arabia but again not a clue .....Salafi simply means a Muslim who follows the Quran and the Prophetic Teachings and Traditions of Prophet Mohammed, the way the Prophet taught it, and the way his companions understood it and taught and the pious predecessors who came after. It is the Salafi Muslims who are very vocal against the extremists such as ISIS etc and in Saudia Arabia if such extremists are found they are given the capital punishment .....If this man has had a backward upbringing he cant come on this show and start spreading misinformation to lead the public to think majority of the Muslims are extremists !! He has become an agnostic due to his experiences in extremism ...Someone like Mohammed Hijab and the liks can very easily refute the picture this man paints ....There is extremism in all walks of socities. There are Christians who have the mentality of the Crusades, but does not mean all Christians are extreme and want to exterminate all Non Christians..Even the term Infidel comes from Latin in the 15th Century and it was used by the Catholic Church to describe Muslims !! But for some reason its become all twisted and now attributed to Islam when there is no such word in the Islamic vocabulary ......There are Buddists who are exteme and causing atrocities in Mynamar but that doesnt mean all Buddists are extreme and we can go on and on about all other faiths

As an ex-Muslim, I can tell you his experience is pretty common. I was among some shady people too who were channeling money to 'dodgy' organisations and even grape apologists (of white women), etc. People were celebrating Al-Qaeida and 9/11. Educated people who had degrees.

Thank you for this interview..it has been so educational. The fear I have is that we as a country are so soft and “politically correct” that our politicians and police etc are failing the UK citizens and country. National security should be a priority. I guess if you allow undocumented mostly male fighting age men to step on our shores without any form of identification, shows a total disregard for the safety of its citizens. To distribute these individuals throughout our land without any protection for its population is a disgrace.

But to say in general the Brits have been good for this world is ridiculous. They have been a colonising, thieving warmongering race that has been taking other countries for what they can get.
@@tylerjonesmr it never fails to amaze me when people defend the empire by systematically only referencing the ‘good’ things they’ve done whilst conveniently forgetting the horrors that were committed in the name of kings and queens. Collating colonisation as being good only makes you look ignorant to the atrocities carried out during those awful times. Perhaps a little research on your behalf might open your eyes to the truth. But maybe I’m asking for too much as walking around with your eyes half shut suits your narrative.

Putting the blame on the watered down British that are around today is impossible to be accurate over by just pointing at the one's who seem to be 'white'. That's ridiculous and inaccurate. This guy is correct; there is a man named Bassem Youssef who appears to be the nicest person on the planet. The man lies without blinking, invents lies in a split second, and claims they are true. Half of everything he says is a lie that can be proven with a simple Google search. But he lies so nicely that no one suspects a horrible person lurks beneath the gorgeous grin.
He is a manipulater, says he's a comedian but he's not funny, not at all. He's very sly and I don't like him one bit.

He claimed that one and a half million Palestinians were expelled in 1948 from the territory that is today the State of Israel, this is a double lie. 1. In 1948 there were a million Muslims in the territory that is today Israel, so I don't know how more left than there were. 2. Only 700 thousand left (most of them due to the request of the Muslim countries that attacked Israel to leave the area while they wipe out all the Jews). 300 thousand remained and today they constitute 2 million Israeli citizens. Then he went on to lie that the insane population growth in Gaza in the last 20 years, which proves that there is no genocide, is due to the forceful transfer of Muslims there by the State of Israel. Not only is there no proof for this claim, it's something he made up during the interview. Where did Israel push people there from? Even the Gazans do not claim that. But I'm sure that "Jews" like you already knew that.
