    "THE GOLDEN BOY" NEXT!
(There's a full-on Gospel choir segment right in the middle.😁)
Freddie & Montserrat (aka Montsie) had become the best of friends... They ADORED each other and making the Barcelona album together was a dream come true for Freddie.💕
This song had a very real/bittersweet meaning as well: Montsie was one of only a handful of people who Freddie confided in about his AIDS diagnosis. ...I believe at this time - 1987 - the only ones Freddie had told were his life-long best friend Mary, his common-law husband Jim, and Montsie. (I read that he didn't actually tell his Queen bandmates until 1989.)

ALSO "Excercises In Free Love" and it's follow-up song "Ensueno"! (Freddie sings SOPRANO solo in the first one; the second is their duet w Fred singing OPERATIC BARITONE to Montserrat's soprano.)

Suggest Freddie Mercury's Exercises in Free Love.. which he wrote, and sang- as a demo for the song to be sung as a duet Enseuno.. with Montserrat-- check out the English translation of the beautiful lyrics.. Exercises in Free Love is Freddie basically doing the whole thing solo and fun to hear first before you hear the same melody as duet

    1 year too late....
If you like Freddie Mercury then I love you! Best part of this part is that Freddie basically just watched a performance this one time and heard Montserrat Caballé sing and wanted to make music with her.
I have always loved the album where this song is present but I have a special part of my heart for their song Barcelona... so much that I almost teard up when visiting the fountains where this were recorded. I thank my father for Queen and sent him alot of pictures of the area when I were there (he cant travel due to cancer) and he always break out in tears for Queen.. the only times I ever seen him cry (and I'm almost 40yo).
I will leave a closing comment and I hope you take it well.. you are a beatuful person, we all see that.. but in my opinion the mole at your chin makes you more special and beautiful. Thats that...

Loved your reaction! Suggest you react to Barcelona……it is so fabulous! Montserrat was a Spanish opera diva who was a star in her own right. Freddie absolutely loved her and was thrilled (and nervous) when she wanted to meet with him. He thought maybe they could do one song together and it was she who suggested they do an entire album, which they did. It is called Barcelona, after the title song and Montsy’s hometown. The song Barcelona was written for the 1992 Olympics which were held in Barcelona.

as much as I love this song. This was as far as I was aware not performed live. They are Lypsyncing to a vocal track. There are no noticeable microphones on either of them.

Freddie wrote every word and the melody to every song including the scores for the instruments. The collaboration took a whole year and was filmed for the Olympics as the opening show. Sadly Freddy was too sick when the opening took place so he never got to see the response of the people. He knew his time was getting short and devoted his remaining strength to this pop/opera he always wanted to do all his life. He loved opera. Look at other videos and see how Freddie and Montserrat met. It will blow you away.
