    nope you did not do any mistakes, thks for showing finally how good cheaper soft pastel pencils can be sooooo good, because talented artists do not have millionaire pockets to get tools to paint or draw. Derwent pastels are very good as well. beautiful cat in deed.

      Thank you!! that's very kind!! you know my favourite pastel pencils are even cheaper lol its the stabilo carbothello set i use most of the time.. i decided to treat myself to these derwent pencils because they were on a huge sale and they feel so fancy in this wooden box.. but before i had any pastel pencils i used to just use regular pencils and i would scratch the paper with a knife to get the fur effect to look more real.. 😁

    That is absolutely amazing, Speaking as a total beginner I cannot imagine the hours of practice you must have put in to create such a spectacular piece of art. Seriously impressed, probably the best drawing I have watched on youtube to date.

      Thank you so much!! that is very kind!! i have been drawing for years but i've only been using pastel pencils for maybe a couple of years.. in fact i think i have a video on this channel of my first time trying them, which also happens to be a cat drawing but of my own kitten.. who is all grown up now and i'm planning to draw him again soon.. :) Thank you for watching and thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot!! i hope your own art journey is amazing and enjoyable!! and don't think of it as hours of practice because that sounds like hard work.. just draw what and when you like and before you know it you'll have those same hours of practice in the bag.. ;)

    Hi. What a beautiful piece of artwork .
    Do you blend at all. I couldnt see from the video if you did or not 😊

    • @Creative-Soul
      @Creative-Soul  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much!! it depends on how I create the layers.. in this piece, because I used pan pastels to create the base layer, i did not do any blending with the pencils and just used the pencil layers for details.. if i didn't use pan pastels then I would have blended the first couple of layers of pencils to achieve the base colours to add the details onto..

    Hello, your drawing is magnificent. I would like to know where you bought your pencil sharpener and what this pencil sharpener is called?

    • @Creative-Soul
      @Creative-Soul  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, thank you so much!! this sharpener is called the Hovel Pencil Plane, it's made by Makers Cabinet.. you can buy it from their website makerscabinet.com and it's also sold in some stationery shops.. it can be used for any pencils but it's especially good for delicate pencils like pastels because they often break in regular sharpeners..

    If your work is a tracing from someone's Photo YOU are PLAGIARIZING, and NOW making Realism art NOTHING MORE THAN CHEETING WORK, just as SO MANY Art Critics say NOT REAL ART BUT just being a good Copy Nothing MORE. IN A COURT OF LAW , a photographer could take that person to court and in court if that person could NOT CREAT a likeness without using a photo , will be Sued. SO NOW YOU HAVE PUT YOURSELF as being a CHEATER., just as bad as Using "AI" and then claim the work as your own... SOOO THAT WILL if you do not know the Anatomy to create a realistic drawing.

    • @Creative-Soul
      @Creative-Soul  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I completely agree with your opinion on this subject!! and i do not trace.. i used a reference photo to look at because i was inspired by the beauty of this cat, i left a link to the instagram channel i looked at.. and if you look at the cat i was drawing, which you can tell apart by the distinctive beauty spot on it's nose, you will see that despite having produced a more or less decent cat drawing it doesn't actually look like the cat i was trying to draw, because i made several mistakes with the size of it's chin, the shape of it's nose and proportion of it's head when drawing it's initial outline.. which i might have been able to correct if i was drawing with graphite on regular paper but pastelmat cannot be erased so i did my best with this and decided to share it as i do with all my art, mistakes and all, just to show that everyone makes them..

    • @Aliciae411
      @Aliciae411 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Actually it’s fine to use a reference with a photograph that is copyright free. Obviously using a photo and making an identical drawing without photographers consent and selling it as your own original is not ok.
      However, using a reference to create an identical drawing is not cheating at all and is no way comparable to ai, there is a lot of skill in it 😊

    • @Creative-Soul
      @Creative-Soul  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Aliciae411 thank you!! i did actually message that insta account asking for permission to draw the cat but they never replied.. so i drew it anyway, explained it in the vid and shared the link.. and of course this drawing is not for sale it was just for fun.. 😊
