I love how fans can create something so much better. For something created so quickly it works, although obviously it could be a lot more cleaner. We just need it to feel like a separate game mode. That minimap needs to be removed completely though.
This I agree. I think the minimap is probably the biggest deviation from Zombie's HUD since CW. I understand it makes it easier for newcomers to get used to the layout of the map. But isn't the whole part of a great COD zombie, is first "mastering" the maps? You explore, you die and you learn from it, etc.
Honestly, I hate playing with the minimap too, but you can just turn it off, leave it on for the people who have some kind of disability or just wanna play the game another way, having more options ain't bad,.
@@ySeOtaku3 In a ton of cases this is true. But the mini-map is a pretty useless feature overall though and I doubt most players really look at it to use it effectively. So I don’t get what do you mean players will take the shortest path possible when the mini-map is more of a slight distraction than an actual benefit for zombies. So I think most people will just turn it off if they are aware the feature exists
I wouldn't actually mind this kind of hud. I especially love the implied idea of your health being almost represented by a heartbeat sensor. This hud is simpler, not so cluttered but still offers information to the player of any skill and can be seen without having to always glance down at it. Bonus points: It has an aesthetic! It fits the tone and vibe of the zombies mode. Watch Activision sell this hud style as a bundle for twenty bucks.
real talk, i'm so glad more and more people are talking about video game huds. they are (were) one of the most glossed over parts of games, yet despite that, they have the potential to add so much personality to them
They are always. It the one thing that people if it work well never notice just like programming but if it dosen't work you get people shiting on it a lot
The main problem its the zombies having no visual id anymore, the sky on liberty falls being a normal cloudy sky making it look like a warzone map, since every iconic zombie map had like a nebula on the sky, or was red, orange. I loved the IW zombies in spaceland visual id, just the main game was bad, that futuristic weapons and those physics ruined a little. But visual ID 10/10. Same on BO3, loved all the maps and visual ids
Wheres the ads that pop up mid game to buy the vault edition for Cod 2025? Bad Hud. Just joshing ya this is legit SO much better than any of the zombies huds since BO3. Wish they'd actually implement this
Cold War was definetly the "Experimental" game, and the HUD really exemplifies that. Super simplistic on the surface, numbers galore once you start shooting. That said, there is a small part of my head that gets satisfaction out of seeing a LOT of numbers really quickly, so I liked Cold Wars HUD for that.
Crazy how in one hour you have a better UI, it's pretty decent, the points are a little too small and I think the perks are a little too big but it looks so much better than the default
This is what I’d imagine a modern zombies HUD to look like. I can see it now, if BO6 gets workshop support, people are going to be making tons of custom huds like this just so the game feels like Zombies again.
I’m probably just gonna turn all of the HUD off. I think if they stacked the gums like they did in IW with the cards, it would have been better. Less clutter, you can cycle through them. Honestly, just take the BO1 HUD and add gums. Just my opinion.
Personally I still feel as if it’s too cramped. Resize the mini map and field upgrade to be smaller and when you have more than 1 gum just have the gums come from the side, get rid of the character that’s talking to you and replace it with a name and it’ll be decent enough.
This would legit be a perfect HUD. Only 2 things i'd change is either putting health below armor, or armor above health, since it's nice having those 2 together. And the other change would be lethals/tacticals above the ammo counter and ammo counter pulled a bit down. But if this was the HUD for BO6 Zombies, i'd already be way happier.
I like everything except the font you chose for the ammo count and the objective & the blood spatters, they just get in the way easily distract someone who is trying to focus on a game that ruins it
Maybe making some of the stuff at the left bottom corner part a bit bigger and remove the minimap, but it is amazing how in 1 hour you could do something better than 4000 devs in 4 years of development.
Big reason I don't like the hud is because of the minimap, there shouldn't be one. The points and salvage should be more on their own above the perks, healthbar and armor. Armor plates could literally just be showing as 3 separate plates indicating how many you have and as one plate takes damage it starts cracking (or maybe to match the vibe of zombies each hit adds a bloody hand print on the armor plate to indicate it's durability). And it's positioning would be nice between where the perks are and the points (not too close to either) and paired/grouped with the healthbar. OR in the left corner under the points and have the perks shifted a bit to the right of it. That's how to fix the HUD.
Personally I hate the health bar, the writing telling you step by step what to do and the mini map being in zombies but it is in the game and that's just it. I think you made this hud amazing but personally I would've just made some things a little smaller like the photo of the dude, the ammo, the gobblegum and a couple other little things but you nailed the zombies vibe!
Bro, good job.. but one thing, we didn’t dislike just hud desing, but it’s over exposure of things, remove fckn minimap, remove health, remove enemies health bar, just for a start..
salvage, map and objective should be only show when holding tab and the gobblegum should like collapse in on top of itself like they should be a small cluster when youre not scrolling thru em. that and this hud would be great
I miss when health bars were not one pixel thick PERFECT, but I'd have the armor be right under the health bar, maybe have a colored number over it to know when the zombies are doing more damage and how many hits you can take with math.. But if everything is able to be removed individually I think everyone would love it compared to a multiplayer HUD that doesn't fit the vibe at all. Hope they allow mod support because this would be the first type of mod added.
As bad as BO4s looked I’d take that unique to zombies HUD any day tbh they could keep the hud practically identical and just add the basic BO1 blood stain as the backgrounds and that instantly would make it a million times better. Lmao I started making this comment right before you showed it and I guess you agreed with blood splatter being a good addition back
I would have only made two micro changes to your HUD. I would have added the little diamond filled and colored based on the rarity of the weapon (a bit like the rarity in warzone of mw2019) instead of the green block in this case, so as to achieve a minimal effect even more. finally I would have removed the small yellow diamond and left only the blood stain with the objective. You did a great great job. Minimap and other stuff should be possible to unable so i appreciate the look it has (but i dont like minimap in zombie at all but that's not your fault) GG.
I’m tires if people acting like the devs purposely make shitty games. You have to realize at some point people are not in charge of how games get made. Everyone follows a chain of command. Get mad at the people who pay for the game to be made. The business owners.
