I love this guy's old school approach. Not a place you'd frequent very often as a middle class poor boy, but you get what you pay for & that sure looked good!
Wanted to go here last weekend Sunday was the only day I could, and they’re closed on Sundays. Went to Porters Dining and Butcher instead, was NOT disappointed. I hope to make it there next visit to College Station.
There are so many restaurants from Houston going to the Hill Country gone to Bandera San Marcos Austin to San Antonio from Dallas New Braunfels all the wineries what's the town where is Lyndon Johnson's from Fredericksburg is it's ya Thang but all these little places there so many Russians you can never try them out you can't get to all of them but I guarantee they're all good and you get your money's worth

Est 1836 started in the 90s?
Play on words. Texas became a Republic in 1836, The Republic Steak House was established in the 90's.
👊
The beef . Cooked barley medium.
No beef sushi .
*barely
Sorry but it is not steak a poivre. It is steak AU poivre. Just a detail but cajuns always try to help texans with French!

Yet on the front of the building had established 1836. WTH?
It's the date that Texas became a Republic. Not when the restaurant was established bud.
$ 5000 Thousand dollars a bottle? A fool and his money is soon parted.
A lot wasted on that philistine
