One thing that keeps coming up in commentary is that you don't need to stress about time loss in your first few runs. It makes sense, the goal of the first few runs shouldn't be WR attempt, but learning what to avoid in the future. The mistakes you make then are valuable learning experience, because you won't be caught unaware by them in your actual PB attempts

Best advice given to me: Choose a game you like and you want to learn inside and out. And remember, don't look at times of the top 3 leaderboard, you'll only make yourself sad that you're not that good yet. It's why I stopped running Super Metroid; I was disillusioned by the leaderboard times put up by Behemoth, Oats, and Zoast.

Oh i see they buy potions, is that faster and the money matters less than talking to the lady in the grass on 201? she gives 10 potions. Well i guess the higher potential of running into pokemon because you have to run through 5 more grass tiles with optimal movement makes it much slower.
