Hey how's the sage for manga and just everyday reading? I live in Ireland can get a paperwhite for 130 euro the sage is 299, libra 2 is 169. I just can't decide which one, Main uses would be manga and reading

Nice! Ill bet it’s really enjoyable to use. I went with the Libra 2 because I decided that while there are plenty of positives to reading manga on an e-ink device, no ink reader would be preferable to me over reading on my iPad during daytime, regular hours. I solely wanted a device to read books and manga in bed at night, and for this purpose, the Libra 2 is excellent. In bed, I hold my device closer to my face, and thus the smaller screen of the libra 2 is totally mitigated by that closeness to my eyes, and additionally, is a much easier to hold in the hand experience in bed. Thoroughly enjoyed a Chainsaw Man chapter on my Libra 2 in bed last night - very happy with it.

I've been keeping my eye on the clara. I really enjoy my paperwhite and am not looking to give that up but I also really like pocket and I like that kobo interfaces directly with Libby/Overdrive right now I check out my books on my phone or laptop to read on my kindle and while it's not a major pain point it would be nice to have a more seamless option.

I got the Kobo Libra 2 as my first e-reader ever recently and can still return it if I want. I am really content with it so far, but I am considering returning it to get the Sage. Note-taking and dropbox support are nice features but no necessity for me.
What I really wonder about is whether the bigger screen makes a big impact on the eyes while reading. I am on my phone quite a bit and so I was wondering if having a larger screen to read on, might be easier and less straining on the eyes. Does the screen size matter when it comes to ease of reading, or is the distance to the face and letter size really more important in this regard? Anyone's input would be appreciated.
Edit: I returned the Libra 2 for the Sage, and it was a good decision for me! I really love the bigger screen

I am now using the Kobo Clara HD. After watching this review, I'm reconsidering whether or not I should upgrade my Kobo Reader. For me, the advantages of the Kobo Clara are its long battery life and its compact size, which makes it ideal for carrying in a purse. To purchase a new one of them would be a waste of money for me. I am going to hold off purchasing a new Kobo until they release one with improved functionality that is comparable to the Clara, Nia, and Libra models.

Good but not too in depth. For example, you failed to mention that the Libra 2 with the sunken screen is actually the most paperlike out of all the e readers, aside from maybe the new basic kindle which is similar. So if anyone is looking for an e reader which is closest to actual paper, you only have two options: Libra 2 or the latest basic kindle.

The funny thing is that on my Kobo Libra the page buttons are the only thing that consistently works. I’ve had the screen freeze several times now. It isn’t often (I can read close to a dozen books before I get a glitch), but in the near year I’ve had it, it froze more times than my Kindle 2 (keyboard) did in several years, and more than my Kindle basic in one year (zero times).
Still, I like it. Changing brightness is as simple as moving your finger up or down the left margin. The interface is more pleasing, at least to my eye.
The connection to a library works easily providing Kobo also sells the book you want to borrow (if not, it’s a nuisance trying to borrow them, too many hoops and steps-I know I’ve mentioned that before…I’m still a bit salty about it considering the big draw for Kobo was interfacing with libraries).
If Kindle brings back page turn buttons and a reader I can hold and turn pages with one hand, I’d buy it (in one of your videos you showed the new Kindle features and it had copied much of the cleaner Kobo menus and look).

I had been using kobo devices for a decades, but when I went to upgrade my e reader, I decided against getting yet another Kobo because I wanted to have access to Android apps. I use a lot of Android apps to pull in comics, manga, novels etc and not having them is problematic. I ended up settling on the nook note 3c but i might downgrade to the note 3 black and white because the battery life on this color one is just not great.
My last device was a clara hd, and for a long time I've been wanting to get a larger screen. Given the most comics are about 8 in size, I needed something larger than 7 in. The only real option was to go with a 10-in tablet because there really aren't any good options at the 8 to 9 in size.
