Dear Chef Singh, Thank you so much for sharing all of your recipes! Your videos inspired me to cook Indian food for the very first time in my life, and your Mother's curry recipe is what I chose for my first recipe. It was AWESOME, and is was so tasty that my wife ate most of it, hahaha. Again, thank you for sharing and inspiring us to cook Indian food. We love your channel, and we love you! My mother's curry was leftover cooked-to-death roast mutton with stale curry powder and raisins. It was 1970s New Zealand, and I'm glad to have been able to learn to make it properly from people who know what they're doing.
Beautiful recipe and a fantastic presentation. Just cooked it. About to add coriander. Smells and tastes divine. Thank you. God bless you and your mother.
I made this and it was so good it was the second time I used black cardamon, the first time I used them was to make your yellow onion gravy which was also excellent. I have loved Indian food for a long time but have always found it difficult to find a good restaurant but both these curries are better than anything I have ever had so thanks a million. I must admit I almost get as much enjoyment from the whole cooking experience from roasting and grinding the spices as I get from eating it.
chefharpalsingh hi, is that curry a bit watery? I use ground spices, but I use much more tumeric than in this video and in most recipes..I don't think mine is correct but I don't like when bland. In most recipes, it is always teaspoon of spices, but I use way more, is this ok?
So I made the Curry earlier today and I must say, it turned out much better than expected! I also added rice as a side and it was very flavorful along with the curry. My mother loved this recipe as well. :) Though we're Mexican haha, but we love trying different foods.
Prior to making this recipe, I thought that "curry" was just a particular spice. I'm glad I tried this as my introduction into Indian cooking as I really, really enjoyed making it. I like my food spicy so only added a cup of water and let it simmer for a few hours. Truly delicious, thank you!
It surely will make people fall in love with your mother's chicken curry. Looks very tasty in what you are cooking. I wonder if your two daughters had your mother's homemade chicken curry from your childhood days or teenage days. Thank you so much for sharing your mother's beautiful chicken curry
Thanks for this video. I made it exactly as you described, and I used a mortar and pestle to grind the spices so that I could get the coarse texture, and chopped tomatoes rather than using canned pureed and it made all the difference in the world, very flavorful.
I've been wanting to make Curry Chicken for a while now. I finally decided to youtube a recipe and I like this one. My mother would cook all sorts of dishes from all over the world and one of those dishes was, of course, curry chicken. As soon as I get the ingredients I need I'll be making this.

+ThankyouAllah4makinm Your comment on how you enjoyed his dish is something I look for when I watch these sort of vids.. I once seen a vid on curry chicken,, and it did not come out well at all, I ended up throwing away all my chicken, what a waste of time. Seeing as you made THIS curry by THIS Chef - I'l try it. Oh here is a tip for all you pressure cooker people. I used my pressure cooker with chicken and once cooker starts to steam, I reduced the heat to a little more then a slow boil. Steam was still shooting out of the cooker... 15 mins seems too much and slightly over cooked the chicken legs. I just touched the chicken and it feel apart. So I think 10mins to 13mins would be better more firm ( I GUESS ) haven't done it yet,,, \But for me 15mins is way too much. good luck all
Dear sardar ji.. You simply illustrate mothers kitchen treasure with emotional bonding from bottom of your heart . Thank you chef.. Being a keralite I adds spicy as well as curry leaves for my preferred taste.
I just made this exact recipe - with 3 chicken breasts instead of the chicken+bones. Everything else identical to the recipe. WOWWWW!!! Soooo flavorful. I had never tasted anything like this. I lived in Italy most of my life and now in the US. I am crazy about Indian food. This recipe is so simple yet absolutely delicious, so much better than what you get in most restaurants. Thank you so much Chef!
Hi Chef, made this for my parents last wk, they loved it-i loved it, best regards to you and your family. Here in England, was a mission to get the spices.....but the smell as you cook it is out of this world. Thank your Mother from us all and keep the recipe's coming.
Hi Chef, well I said I'd try it and last night I did, it was very good, my wife likes potato in her curry so i added a couple, the overall result was a very tasty curry and the smell of the roast spices in the grinder was amazing! I made it with your Jeera rice with peas, that went down very well too and will definetly be making both again, thanks from Belfast :)

Chef Harpal, I'm literally eating the curry right now and it's delicious. I followed it to the mark, other than the fact I was out of black cardamom so substituted for green, which I know tastes very different but I was doing the best I could given what I had available. Yes Brian there is a difference if you cook chicken on bone against boneless, the earlier one remains soft and adds to the body of the gravy..
Yes with bone adds to the body of the gravy and for boneless you need to add stock to the gravy..
Did you try it..
chefharpalsingh hi, is that curry a bit watery? I use ground spices, but I use much more tumeric than in this video and in most recipes..I don't think mine is correct but I don't like when bland. In most recipes, it is always teaspoon of spices, but I use way more, is this ok?
Too much turmeric kills the final taste, this curry is not rich like other curries..
do you use coconut like milk or regular cocunt milk. is it ok if i use the coconut milk from puerto rico or is that to sweet

Curry is s generic term for dishes prepared in a gravy..

You can get curry powder which is just a blend of spices, I generally use it in my curries.
