What a stunning boat! and an extremely livable space. I think you did a fantastic job on the presentation of this video, the questions you were asking him, and the back-and-forth conversations, It was really interesting to watch. Butch seems such a friendly and knowledgeable fella, looking forward to watching the interview video. Seen some rather scary footage on the news, I hope all your loved ones in Florida are safe.
That boat is super sweet but yours is also great! Two completely different types of boats so it’s not fair to compare. It’s nice to see alternatives for future Brandon!
Before you want a trawler make sure to go on a catamaran! Definitely think there is a lot of you to explore in the south. I’m in the Carolina’s. In Wilmington. We have the Wrightsville anchorage here. Let me know if you come down south!
Definitely switching to boat life! We are planning to sell our bricks and sticks home and buy a yacht and travel the ICW, the Carribean, and beyond! Your channel has been an inspiration for us!

Enjoying your channel Brandon. Former Neville Island boater here considering getting back into boating. Our last boat was a 27' Carver. I'm curious, did the survey spot the mechanical problems you experienced this summer or where you surprised by them? Thank you.
One option are the planing trawlers that give you the benefits (speed) of a planing hull but have all of the benefits of a true trawler. Ranger and Cutwater come to mind. The problem is they are expensive and there are very few used ones, especially outside of the Puget Sound area. The newer ones even have single or twin outboards.
So I’ve been planning my Florida boat life now for several years. At first, I was like you, I have to buy the boat. I quickly learned you need to have a place to put it. So when a deal of a lifetime came around almost 100 K under market value, I bought a boat slip in marathon. So right now I’m dock rich and boat poor. Also funny, we are from Pennsylvania also. We just flew back to Pittsburgh on Saturday from Houston Texas to look at a cruisers yacht 34 express she did not pass the survey. (Wet stringers)We actually saw your boat sitting in the river. lol. So I got an opportunity for you. My boat slip in Marathon is for lease. You probably won’t find a dock any cheaper. Recommendations for you, a 34 foot express cruiser would be the way to go. Much roomier than your 30 footer, tons of room. 34 footer is still small enough to manage single-handed. You get the 11.5 beam which gives you much more room and stability over your 30 ft er. You do not want to stern drive boat in saltwater. Salt water can eat through the bellows and she will sink. Yes I know what people are gonna say you can run a stern drive in saltwater. I would not leave it in the water for long lengths of time. If you took a stern drive out of the water after every use flush the engine that would be ok. You want an inboard. And the express cruiser style of boat they’re called v drives. Boats you should consider sea ray 320, 330. Cruisers 320,3370,340,330. Make sure you get a survey! My contact info is on the marina website. Bonfish Marina.com slip B-33. $700 a month. You’ll fall in love with the water in the keys we did.
If u get out to Juneau alaska, ill show u a real boating community man. Ill be back up there in the spring. Didn't quite have the time this year. But alaska has the best boating community in America.
@@BrandonGrossI'm in Tampa, so I definitely was curious when you filmed this video with Helene hitting at the end of September and Milton last Wednesday night.
Never, ever, under any circumstances swapping to boat life. But absolutely love watching you enjoy it. So giving you upvotes and comments for algorithm engagement funtimes.
I live in Fort Lauderdale and worked on boats for 17yrs. I have knowledge on ALL marinas in the area. As well as places to get parts and or service. If you would like more info let me know and I can give my contact info. Thanks for the content, been watching since you had the lambo, and when you got the boat I was hooked, I briefly worked at the Searay factory in Titusville Florida so I have some knowledge there as well. Hope you get to move the boat down here, its beautiful! Happy cruising!
My parents own a 49’ defever and I love being on that boat. Definitely not a fast boat but is a nice smooth ride PS- you should for sure buy one. There is definitely a learning curve but it’s an amazing boat
most people do van life due to cost..blm camping is free in most states.break down are cheap for the most part ..for the price of that boat where not talking van..where talking 40ft newmar coach and 5 years at the nicest resorts will see how much your slip cost...big yatch might be a for first time owner hope nothing breaks they can be a money pit ..pot holes suck but there nothing like a reef..good rv i can out run the weather in a yatch like that good luck...everthing has its pros and cons....good luck
The best thing about outboards: easy fpr service, van be covered with a lounge or sunpad and on our boats we dont have to change the hull construction to go fully electric with 50kW electric outboards
Man this gives me the itch to buy a trawler! I work remotely as well and could do a slow tour of the ICW or Great Loop. Then sell the boat after if needing a break
You are going to love the fort Lauderdale Miami area You're not going to want to come back. And if you want to see money all you got to do is go through the intercoastal waterway and you're going to see a whole bunch of money. The boating is definitely different from the Pennsylvania area You're going to have a blast. Make sure you take a boating safety course down there in Florida because the police on the water are no joke do not vote and drive😊😊😊😊 😊😊😊😊😊
Love the man bun. It's like you can't decide, do I want long hair or not? Like the people that wear both long yoga pants and gym shorts. Maybe it's all on the name of STYLE
Not a boat question a general one lol. I have family in Philly and Pittsburgh. Everyone hates flying in and out of Philly. Which do you like Pitt or Philly?
Guy addicted to speed an refusing to float down the river south because its slow, now wants a big slow boat? A reminder, your boat will get much better mileage if you would cruise at just below hull speed instead of being up on plane all the time.
Yea right 7,000 diffrent part that need yearly rebuild and daily cleaning. Salt water or sea air corrode. And taking the boat out of water. Lol. Only for the determined.a beach chairs good enough throw it away every year. Rebuild brand new lol
You should do it ...especially if you have too much money in your bank acct and want to burn it .... Id say burn your cash and save yourself some time and effort but this way you'll at least have a boat to show what you used all that cash on....cheers.
Good video but Brandon, but next time focus on listening more than speaking. In many instances you are repeating what your host already said.
