We went from a plague of snails in our tank to a absolute inhalation of them due to 4 yoyos in our 40 gallon. Love them. I have to keep snails breeding in the adjacent tank to give them snail snacks. We started with 4 yoyos and just noticed a 3/4 inch baby kicking around. Not sure of the amount of fry they produce but the baby is a cutie.
I have a single yoyo loach myself and that fellow is incredibly entertaining, during feeding time i can feed him with my hands at the surface of the waters and its pretty funny listening to the fish making popping noises trying to get food that isn't fully submerged right now my yoyo loach loves hanging out with my panda corydora school and basically the cories have accepted the yoyo as their own despite being twice or nearly triple as big as the biggest female cory
I inherited one monster yoyo loach...it must be at least 6 inches if not bigger and lives under my internal filter cover. I have a 4 foot tank and even that doesn't feel big enough for it due to it speeding around the place 😂. Brilliant video as usual. Thank you ❤
I hold a frozen brine shrimp cube a inch or so under the water and the Yoyo's come up and rip pieces off, they will bite and twist, you can feel it, but they are peacefull to my other fish in the tank, occasionally I will catch one following my bronze corys around and hanging out eating, they seem to like corys a lot
loaches are my all time favorite type of fish. i had some beautiful & crazy looking horse faced loaches who would bury themselves in the sand! i had some skunk loaches who i loved too but havent been able to find any horse-faced or skunks in over 7 years! i also like zipper. zebra & chains
i love my yoyos! 2 of the 3 i have now are voracious pigs who prefer bladder snails above all other food , i even have a special tank just to grow plenty of bladder snails for them. the 3 i have currently all refuse to eat malasian snails, though some i have had before would eat them. they will eat ramshorns when they get desperate for snails if i havent given them any for at least a week. they also are great to eat unwanted gupoy babies. they eat about 90% which is a rate i can keep up with so i dont get overrun with guppies. i have them in a community tank with the guppies and some kuhli loaches(who only occasionally will eat a snail, except when i crush them, then they will eat them happily) great video! : )
I wonder if the size difference is species/collection point related? If a pair of small yoyos breed, would their offspring vary in size or also stay small?
my yoyo is a solid 4 inches at least. when i got him i was told 2-3" too lol. i feel bad since he's not got a ton of room in the 10g and don't want to upset him with a move.... but i just set up a 40g breeder that seems to be about ready. *i got mine to take care of pest snails..... and he did, for a time. but he's decided nothing is worth his time anymore.
Sometimes if it ain't broke don't fix it. He may move to new tank and fo better. I've moved fish and sometimes they do worse. It's basically a gamble once they are established and used to their tank
This is the single most underrated aquarium youtube channel
agree, I never miss a video... and very surprised the sub count isn't much higher

I have yoyo loaches, i have been waiting for this video as I saw the yoyo's in the background of your previous video lol
‘Yo-yoable’ ! love it ! 👌
I love that you explain how they act and their personality. Best YT fish channel
They are great fish, my tanks are a little smaller that what yo-yo suggest, but they are happy bunnies :)

I'll have to try that, see if mine are as tame :)
I know someone who kept yo-yo loaches together with Boesemani Rainbowfish. The yo-yo loaches ate the rainbowfish’s eyes.

Amazing content! All Loaches are Awesome !
I have always loved the YoYo Loach!! 🤍🤎 ThankYou for this excellent video!!
Great video! This is a fish I’ve never had, but would definitely consider for the future.
absolutely love your channel, you're funny and very informative!😊😊
One of my YOYo loaches rubs on a rock, does this mean there is a health issue?

Love your videos so much!
That’s so kind, thank you very much 😊
I have one that is HUGE over 6 inches for sure
ok no need to brag 😄
