I just don’t see how you would be able to taste the fish with so much spice. UNLESS they somehow get rid of the seeds and blanch in multiple times in water to get rid of most spice and get the actual pepper flavor.
Nooooooo! Silly trotting out inedible items to fulfill some desire for notoriety. From your review of their dishes, they don't need that stunt. As always, great review.
The happy hour definitely helps with the price tag. I'd probably swing by for a $10 cocktail and some wagyu gyoza if I needed to take a break from the tables or slot machines. Thanks for watching!
I love how you always give an honest and balanced opinion of each dish. So many food vloggers seem overly complimentary or overly critical. Keep up the great work Shin!
Yes! I haven't done a lot of Japanese restaurants on the channel yet and Kusa Nori was one I've had my eye on for a while. I really enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Wow, what a beautiful restaurant and meal. Love the decor there and your review of the foods is wonderful. Once again Shin, I truly enjoyed watching. I would dive into those skewers and that steak. The dessert looked delicious!! Great job Shin!!
I have watched several videos by Shin and it is just amazing to me how ridiculously overpriced the food on the strip has become. My last trip to Vegas we had almost every meal off strip, there are so many amazing local restaurants.
The strip is very expensive now no doubt and the quality of food off strip is getting better and better every day. As long as transportation isn't a hindrance, much better value to eat off strip certainly. Thanks for watching!
@@VegaswithShin do you like boba drinks? I recently opened up a spot in chinatown and would be an honor to have you by to try some drinks and get your thoughts.
Damn Shin that looked amazing ! Outta my league for cost for Japanese food tho . Don’t know how you do it man . Thanks for sharing another great job well done !
Thank you Kyle! The channel generates enough for most of my videos now so I'm not spending much of my own money. I'm very thankful that I started TH-cam because I get to experience so many foods I would have not tried before. Thanks for watching!
“35$ for a butthole volcano in 12 hours” 🤣🤣🤣 I liked the omakase menu 😍 and special shares!!! Mmm wagyu gyoza 🤤 awesome you tried all the skewers 😍😍 looove that dessert 😍😍
LOL, I always fear the exit more than the entrance when it comes to ultra spicy foods. This was one of my favorite videos I've made this year. The food was so good and I loved the vibes at Kusa Nori. Thanks for watching Tiffany!
Shin, Great videos. I have watch all the food vlogger's for the Las Vegas area, and by far you are the best on you tube. I enjoy the way you go thought the menus, and food. Your videos are clean and simple, and your description of the food and great. Are you in the food industry? Keep up all the great work.
I enjoy watching all your restaurant reviews...love the place but the prices was just a tad too steep...all the food looked amazingly delicious...have a great week and weekend 😘🤗❤
Happy hour is definitely the way to go. $10 cocktails on the strip is a solid deal and cutting the prices down by a 1/3 on the menu items definitely helps out. Thanks for watching!
All of that food looks so delicious! Another fantastic video! Where is your favorite place for sushi in Vegas? And what’s the real opinion of sushi from the Wynn buffet? 😊
Buffet sushi is usually just okay at best. There's a lot of really great places in Vegas for AYCE sushi. Sushi Neko in Chinatown is high on my list but it's a little out of the way for me. I have a little spot 5 minutes from my house that isn't anything super special but it gets the job done for $30. Thanks for watching!
As you said, nobody is going to Kusanori or Nobu for value. This kind of place is a splurge, or for people who want the best and are willing to pay for it, like me. The quality is much better than the AYCE places, although when I went to Kusanori last year, I was not impressed and I haven’t been back. Thanks for your reviews of all types of restaurants. You’re great at this!
Vegas certainly caters to the affluent and spots like Nobu and Kusa Nori are exactly that. And as you say, plenty of folks are willing to pay a premium price for the best. I'm sorry to hear your experience was not as great at Kusa Nori. There's always Nobu here and I'm looking to try out Chef Morimoto's at MGM Grand as well for that elevated Japanese dining experience. Happy to hear you enjoyed the vlog though. Thanks for watching!
I like Morimoto more than Kusanori, and sometimes more than Nobu, too - in fact, I ate at Morimoto just last week. It is, however, incredibly expensive for sushi, which is pretty much all I eat there. Also, among the higher-end restaurants, consider Yellowtail at Bellagio (where I also ate recently). Not as expensive, but just as good. Can't wait to see where you go next!
That really makes me happy! I'm glad to know that I'm able to provide some value to those looking to visit Las Vegas! I hope you have an amazing visit to sin city. Please have a delicious trip! Thanks for watching!
"Butthole volcano" took me out. I burst out laughing. Omg. But I had the same thought. Menu looks great. Similar in price to most upscale restaurants here in Toronto too.
Lmao, when it comes to beyond humanity spicy level foods, I always fear the exit more than the entrance. That aside, I had such a great meal for this video. Thanks for watching!
Great honest review!!!!! I didn't get a chance to look, but do they have soju?! I know soju is Korean, but just wondering. I agree that there are a lot of great sushi places for less money, but I would consider this!!!
I don't recall seeing soju on the list. In general I'll be sticking to my AYCE sushi spots but if I have need to go to upscale Japanese, I have another option outside of Nobu that I enjoyed. Thanks for watching GL!
Shin, I know you mention in the video that you tend to stick to the off the strip AYCE sushi places, but have you been to Morimoto’s, Nobu, or any of the other high end sushi spots on the strip, and if so how would you say that this one compares to those? Great video as always
I have not been to Morimoto's yet but I will in Q1 2024 for a video. I have been to Nobu at Caesar's years ago and I had a similarly great experience. I don't think you can go wrong with either Nobu or Kusa Nori. And I'm really looking forward to Morimoto's as well. Thanks for watching!
Shin as usually the place was way over priced but you did do an excellent review. $7 dollars for a diet coke come on Shin !!! In Tokyo I once had AYCE + sides of "real" A5 Waygu steak for $100 USD. The American continues to get ripped off in places like Vegas. BTW there is no tipping in Japan. What kind of work do you do Shin just curious?
Thank you! Yes, Vegas is expensive. It's a very common theme now and prices aren't going to go down so this is the new normal unfortunately. I'm a project manager at an art studio, though the channel more or less generates enough now to almost cover itself. I don't put in much more than $100 to $200 a month nowadays. Thanks for watching!
@VegaswithShin That's great & a smart way to enjoy the finer things Vegas has to offer. I brought up the Diet Coke because we had a restaurant in Nashville and Coke cost us 1 cent per 12oz serving. I am sure it's more now but oh the profit margins. See you on the next video.
Oooh, thanks for the info! I'll have to check it out when I find myself up in the north side of the valley. I live near South Point so I rarely make my way up to downtown or further. Thanks for watching!
Yes! It definitely feels right lol. If I do go down the merch route one day, I think this will probably be the first bit of it lol. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
Shin was in top form on this video. I laughed when he said “I ain’t the chef, let’s give it a try”! I will have to use his “That went a little over over my head!” as a subtle thumbs down.
It looks delicious! (Oishii sou) Pronunciation could use work, but great review otherwise! P.S. You are supposed to eat with lots of rice, some light pickles, steamed vegetables. P.S. You ate what would serve a 6-10 person hiking club out on a country town hike. . . sort of Chinese share style.
The restaurant was relatively full by the time I left. I'd say it was roughly 1/3 business types on a company card, 1/3 affluent families, and 1/3 of folks on dates or duos of friends just eating dinner. To be fair, I think if you just get the cod and a robata skewer and a drink, you could get away with less than $100 a person including tax and tip. I doubt anyone is ordering the quantity of food I'm ordering for a single person. Thanks for watching!
LOL, I'm not rich but I do fine for myself. I'm a project manager at an art studio, but the channel generates enough now where I'm only putting in about $100-$200 of my own money a month. I mostly cover the Las Vegas strip so I'm not sure how many down to earth restaurants exist here lol. Thanks for watching!
Macallan 30yr sherry oak cask $1200, damn my brain can't comprehend spending that much on a drink. Though after googling it, the cheapest price I found for a bottle is $6500. People are crazy. I don't care if you are a billionaire that's more than you should spend on a drink.
It all comes down to what people value I'd say. I spend more money on Yugioh cards than I care to say out loud. Billionaire or not, I'm sure most would look at me like I'm crazy for spending the money I do on pieces of cardboard. A tournament meta deck can easily run $1000. So if someone wants to drop $1200 on whiskey, I just say more power to them. 100000% not me though lmao. I have a hard time paying $20 for a cocktail outside of TH-cam videos. Thanks for watching!
I'm definitely not impressed with this restaurant at the resort world. For sure people are paying for the ambience or lack of. There are far better tasting Japanese restaurants off the strip.
I certainly prefer to dine off strip in general, but the average tourist is likely coming to Vegas for the general Vegas strip experience and the food is just one part of that experience. Kind of like telling someone they can get a cheaper, better churro outside of Disneyland. I mean it's true, but it's kind of missing the point you know? Thanks for watching!
Should I try the "butthole volcano" sushi roll? Would you try it?
Shin no save your butthole😂😂😂 you are too funny reading that section of the menu with genuine surprise and concern. Thanks for taking us along!
