- Episode Revenant has launched today within Destiny 2, and with it comes many updates to Exotic Weapons and Armor. There were plenty of buffs and nerfs. So let's put them all to the test and see if we got a new meta on our hands.

@@21AceJack that's because it's not dead yet, it's still in the process of dying. multiple layoffs of the devs and an all time low player count doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the future of the game but who knows maybe bungo can pull it out of the fire and revive the game. for now tho just enjoy it while it's still here because that's what i'm doing.

5:00 the wording is tricky on Mask of the Quiet One. The quirk is that there are two methods to proc. Either rapid void final blows OR any final blow while at critical health
Not tricky it states AND which means two options.

Maven...dude...you didnt even read the Voltaic Mirror perk on Blightranger. Youre supposed to block damage with the super to build the Voltaic Mirror meter, then cancel your super. You create a large blinding explosion and buff all your arc damage when you do it this way
Ahamkara was my favorite in the haunting season. Once you were out of abilities, use super, tripmine, dodge, knives, tripmine, and sometimes tripmine again... but then youre totally out of abilities. I was always running omga pulse w/ demo/well. That was a fun season. I really enjoyed how creepy it was on the ship.
Hot take- I like the lucky pants rework. My issue with sunshot is that despite all the praise, it just didn’t feel like it could kill in endgame pve, with this change, I can fire six shots, swap back and forth, and shoot six more before reloading and doing it again. Actually feels like I can ad clear now, and I don’t treat lucky pants like the crazy damage-long cooldown that it used to be, now it feels like high damage-no cooldown
Sunshot is like one of the only viable endgame hCs that do more than just stun champs lol.
If you felt it weak then you probably don't use any HC over masters cause everything else feels much weaker.
Don't see anyone pointing it out but the nerf to choir was only the point blank dmg, once the projectile spreads its normal. It was doing my dmg then intended at point blank before.
thx for mentioning, when the measurement spread happens was already recording in a Aztercross test vid bout the gun when it first came out .

Yep but the spread out shot was weaker than the point blank shot. So overall still quite a big nerf especially since if you now hip fire around 6 meters you deal very little damage.
@wintereclipse3263 the nerf wasn't bad, the point blank got hit real hard but that was never meant to do that much dmg anyways, and the speard only got like 12% nerf so it's still very good.
@@gormleypeach5809 Bungie did this as a way to fix a bug instead of fixing the bug. Div was dealing 200% increased damage with the point blank so instead of fixing it they decreased it by 50% so when you hit a div it's basically a normal shot. But like no one uses div anymore.
The original point blank shot deals slightly more damage than the hip fire at the cost of well being point blank now it deals baby sized damage.
This is a lazy way to fix a bug.

The Peacekeepers could be pretty nutty with Osteo Striga. As you can get over 100 rounds in the mag.
I’d also be curious to see how Osteo’s poison would interact with these. Would the poison tic damage give you a stack of the buff? Is the poison damage buffed by these stacks?
It does get buffed by the stacks

I believe the exotic effect and surges seem to stack as well. 1 Osteo shot was hitting for 7k damage on red bars and elites. Boss damage was around 2k-3k. I wasn't paying attention to poison damage.
Edit 2: I forgot I had Overload SMG on in overcharge content, could be affecting values.

I’ve been running the multimach with kinetic tremors for barricade champions lately, wonder if the kinetic tremors gets buffed.

The poison is buffed, but doesn’t contribute to the stack timer. Only direct bullet damage keeps the stacks.
The play with Fighting Lion is: debuff target, hit with Lion, swap to kinetic to deal extra 50% damage for 5.5sec. Lion intrinsically apply disruption break and auto load because you applied debuff as slow/freeze etc. Imagine this synergy with the current artefact perks ;-)
On Cadmus, you could get a Diamond Lance behind barricade without stasis weapon prior to Episode 2. There are some solo GM Psi-ops videos using this with Revision Zero several seasons ago and it was working fine. The exotic is 2 parts, the precision hits can be done with any weapon, and prior to Episode 2, the KILLS had to be stasis weapons. Now kills with any weapon will count towards spawning a diamond lance. So its a small change that basically remove edge cases from not working as the user would expect, making it feel more consistent.
17:10 If you’re quick enough with your trip mines, you can get so much energy back, and it makes it an amazing build
A note on blight ranger, it doesnt refund super energy from blocking it increases the damage of the explosion when the super ends based on how much you block. The “voltaic mirror” bar in the bottom left tracks that. You can choose to deactivate early to retain some super energy but it does not refund any. Still pretty bad but slightly better than portrayed in the video.
Mask of the quiet one and icefall mantle are strong giving each class a very strong defensive build
With Raijus, I was able to consistently get half of my super energy bar back by casting my arc staff at a enemy far away with a lot of enemies below my feet. And I was able to do that multiple times consistently, so this is definitely similar to shards of gallon or but for gathering Storm
Peace keepers with huckleberry is really good and with facet of grace on prismatic for transcendence, and although lucky pants damage was nerfed I'm loving the chance even pulling out Arianas vow for dps
Combined Juju with Skull on my warlock. I got 2 nova bombs on the wave 10 boss in onslaught. We were in the room less than a minute. Its legit. Im not sure how well it will do in higher tier content but for low to mid tier, its something else.

What mods and fragments you leaning into?
Symmetry is even better when you consider the alt fire mode is basically free rocket sidearm rounds with tracking. With the update to give stacks on kills I now always have the explosive tracking rounds every engagement on demand. If you are still disappointed with the Quicksilver nerf I highly recommend Symmetry this season.
Peacekeepers with Tarrabah is what I'm really excited to try when I get time to play this weekend.

You can access the vault any where now. Just go to character screen and press up on controller
For anyone wondering about the balidorse buff, you gain the extra super based on how many allies get your frost armor + stasis buff, even one ally is pretty substantial looking like it gives around 10% of your super
18:20 its because its a direct hit with the tripmine which refunds energy. Then the actual explosion which is abother hit. And ignitions are hits as well.

The lucky paint looks awesome, it was already one of my favorite exotic, so good!
ex diris is great now. the39 reserves make it actually usable. that was the biggest problem. now you can lay into a champ or boss and consistently get moths for more damage on top of the damage buff they gave it, i had a lot of fun with it in onslaught
Symmetry is amazing especially with anti barrier scout. When you have stacks of revolution it shreds Barry shirtless
Also for skull, The amount of super energy it gives you is the same range of super energy that celestial gives on precision final blows.
So this is literally The neutral game of Celestial, and the super refund rate of shards of galanor

I used to run this build before the initial nerf and I’m so glad it’s back, didn’t think to run dragons breath with it though, sounds sick
the bonus energy works if you cancel the blight ranger so you can you it defensively alot in high add dense environments

I know right? I made a build for it on mono stasis and it's very strong! I guess at a glance it's whatever what with how potent stasis is right now it's survivability is top tier.
She only focuses on getting the video out as soon as possible so its to be expected that some tests are half assed.

Skull of dire ahamkara with bad juju is pretty nice. I was tossing nova bombs left and right in onslaught.
Camus ridge always made crystals wherever you threw diamond lance. The change was only to not needing void weapons for precision hits and spawning 3 crystals with powerful combatants in addition to bosses and vehicles.
It extends the arc super as you deflect everytime Carl would shoot your super would start to climb instead of decreases so in a high fire area you could use it deflect and then stop the super and save energy

They need to add some kind of utility for champions for all exotics beyond the artifact. The intrinsic trait should then cover 2 champions if that weapon is on the artifact imo

Icefall Mantle + Liturgy with Rimestealer goes brrr. Should also work with Salvation's Grip with the catty update, but i dont have it yet
Try PKs with a kinetic tremors smg and a rewind deconstruct parabellum.

YAS IS BAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKK!!!!! Finally we have a transformative solar hunter exotic rather than shoot gun pop celestial. Now all we need is the solar nade option on prismatic to be trips for hunter.
Edit: for a boss you can do nade knife nade then another nade if you're fast enough
Blight ranger gives you super back MID super, just btw. Not after. Watch back, you got some super back afterwards. Def still needs a buff, but maybe could be good in gm activities with heavy areas of adds
Missed opportunity for Symmetry to jolt targets while Revolution is active for better add clear and single target damage
The jolt would really increase the weapons damage output

8:50 even better you don't have to do that now, and can click your character menu to bring up VAULT OPTIONS to access from anywhere now. And even works in fire teams.

I saw a video where three guys completely annihilated a dungeon boss with rx diris
For Ballidorse, they made shattering enemies frozen by your super projectiles do more damage, rather than the shatter pulse itself. I guess the thought was that your allies cant shatter your enemies and ruin your damage. Unfortunately it seems like a straight nerf because the super freeze takes a lot of energy and you cant get the bonus damage from bleak watcher/frostpulse freezes anymore. I would have thought in a solo situation of blast-shatter the damage would look the same tho, but apparently that does not appear to be the case
For Blight ranger, it only does the damaging explosion if you cancel I think. I guess you are supposed to charge that Voltaic Mirror perk then cancel your super? Depending on the damage, it could be like making your arc staff a one-off super but with WAY more steps.
Otherwise, these are a lot of great changes tho
If road born stays active chaperone might be added in those double shotgun loadouts for dps
8:38 ahh ahh ahh nooo… it’s even easier than that… you don’t need to use the destinations tab… simple go into your character screen & click UP (on console d-pad) & it opens your Vault ANYWHERE ANYTIME 😁 click R3 to swap between Vault & Character drops

Hey I was just playing with sanguine and I'm pretty sure you can now get the times 4 from a healing rift which is huge now.
I think 120 hand canons would work best with lucky pants . Pull out shoot 6 shots pull your special rinse and repeat also i wonder how it interacts with erianas
I personally think warlocks need some major buffs! Warlocks just can't compete with titans or hunters anymore.
Peacekeepers with my multimach(kinetic tremors and under over) might be a good fit

As someone who has hard-mained Arcstrider since beta, it pains me to see Blight Ranger STILL unusable.
It honestly need a fundamental shake-up imo.
The fantasy of "high-damage deflections" just sadly doesn't work in D2, especially in PvP, where you can be one-shotted by a ghost round when reflecting damage - which isn't even a rare occurance, sadly.
The FIRST time I put this exotic on in a Supremacy match this Episode, I got one-shotted because my reflected someone's auto rifle.
I was like, "yep, that's about right."😂
Took it off after that... not planning on using it anytime soon.
I have two ideas that could make it an interesting pick.
1. Reflecting damage grants the "Whirlwind Guard" damage buff from Way of the Current in Forsaken. Adding on to that, targets damaged by projectiles you reflected are Blinded, and or Jolted.
You would also still not lose energy when guarding, as well as retain the ability to manually cancel Arc Staff.
2. Whirlwind Guard itself is replaced by an AOE Blinding explosion(like the one when you cancel) that becomes stronger when Amplified.
In addition to that, Arc Staff deals greatly increased damage to Blinded targets, and Blind effects you inflict lasts longer. Defeating Blinded targets grants extra Arc Staff energy.
So MAVEN RAW! No way anyone can take that the wrong way....

I use DIM, can't remember the last time I've ever interacted with my vault. Maybe day 1 LightFall? It worked day 1 TFS.
Maybe ahamkara's spine refunded this much grenade energy cause they made it similar to osmiomancy's and the direct hit counts?!
The ballidorse buff only works raid encounters.
The best term I can muster to describe the exotic Weapon changes is "SAFE" (a slightly better "meh") : btw Desperate Measures got a buff, has that made the recluse subsistance / dmeasures vs funnel web subsistence / frenzy harder hitting? (goddamn it i want the recluse to be better than funnel web ffs and shit)
Does manticore stack with those boots? Both those boots and manticore are suppose to add 100% damage.
