    Trash talking is a big one that needs to stop. I was at a local meet at a track in my city and I pull up on the drag strip just trying to do passes and enjoy my day, the announcer says on the microphone "Don't worry folks there's a cement barrier so when he crashes into the crowd you will all be ok" I was like...your funny man. Never once have I heard that one. You should do stand up.
    My second pass, he says on the mic my six cylinder can't do a burnout. I tell him my tires are new...laughing it off..until he finally pushed me to the point where I had to prove him wrong...did the biggest smoke show I've ever done in my life, roasted my brand new tires.
    Third pass, he tells me funny you can only smoke your tires in the wet burnout box! And I see the crowd just looking at the announcer like dude....shut up. Your just making an ass out of yourself. On the bright side... Made my fastest pass that night 😁

    Another thing to add to one of your reasons is for people to control their dog or better yet, don't bring them at all. I've seen people show up to shows with their dog and no leash. Also that concrete/asphalt is hot on their pads. They can stay home.

    Wholeheartedly agree with the trash talk, happened to us. We just got our car and went to a cruise a couple months later. Guy comes up and says a few disparaging words then walks off. Remember we just got our ‘Stang only a couple months prior and doing things right takes time. While we were momentarily contemplating braining the guy we thought better of it. Fortunately everyone else was way cool and had a great time

    I've noticed when it comes to cheaper cars, people are more likely to touch them, since they think it doesn't matter.
    Still, the point stands. I didn't spend 5 hours washing the exterior, then cleaning it again once I arrived just for you to leave handprints on my fender.

    Don't forget about dogs. If you have a dog, have it on a leash. If your dog is untrained and likes to jump on things... DO NOT BRING IT TO A SHOW! This happened to a friend's S550 GT. A dog on a loose leash freaked out at the sound of one car, and tried to claw it's way up the side of his fender.

    One of my biggest beefs at car shows is putting badges on cars that they are not. This is putting GT emblems on mustangs that are not, SS badges on camero's, chevell's, nova 's, etc.

      It's a personal beef for many BUT it's the owner's car, not theirs. The owner may be a poser but they also might be paying respect to a true model with a clone or tribute car. Deliberately making false claims on a placard or judges sheet is completely WRONG however.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have cobra emblems on my Cobra R rims. I have a cobra R label on my Cobra R intake. Other than those two things, and my Cobra R hood, it’s not a Cobra R. In your opinion, did I misbadge? (They came with the product) Honestly, the car used to be a V6. So when I had the engine swap done, I got 1969 emblems for my fenders. It is a 94, not a 69, but I felt that the tribar pony was still true to its V6 self, but also still boasted that it had a 302 without claiming it was a GT.

    One thing that is somewhat annoying to me is after hours and hours of detailing, proudly arriving at the event and then having to park next to a rat rod. Rat rods are fun and cool but can't they have a separate section or is that 'racist' in the car world?? Usually I can move elsewhere but sometimes it's just too busy.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not racist unless you’re implying that only a certain group of people are into rat rods. I like rat rods, but I don’t like detailing my car, only to witness everyone oooing and ahhing over the rat rod next to me, completely ignoring and passing over my car just to get to it quicker. All these pictures and video... ...it’s a phone, it’s not like you have to worry about running out of film, and pay money to have it developed. Yeah, I get it. It’s just a 94 mustang, but the guy next to me spent all his money time and effort in making his vehicle look rusty. It’s not a work in progress. It’s done.

    Sorry, but if bring your beat up, falling apart, should be in the the junkyard car to a "Show & Shine" or a "Judged Show" you did just to see who you could trigger. Keep that heap at home and work on it till it's worthy of being at a show.

    • @deadriseful
      @deadriseful 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So it’s about community these shows. Like yeah, it’s cool to show off the cars, but you can just look on the internet now for everything. So if a guy brings out his work in progress car that might have been pulled out of a junkyard that day, supporting him by leaving the triggered comments at home, and bringing him into the community. Not saying he should get awards for best build, but just not negatively talked to or about. I’ve been in these types of shoes before, with my Nova I’ve been building for 10 years (all thru high school and into college and still working on it today) and it can really make it not worth coming out to the shows and being a part of the community.

    I don't know if I'd say it's a rule...maybe an anti-rule...but you don't have to immediately open your hood and leave it up the entire show... as a photographer it's pretty annoying when all I can get are engine shots. The car doesn't look its best with panels open. Unless it's exceptionally interesting under there...leave it closed unless asked/the car is being judged.
