Absolutely beautiful I remember them from the sixties practicing over our area it was classified as a safe area to do so they were awesome then and still are
I remember being at Prestwick Academy back in 1972 and an F 104 Starfighter taxied east up the runway then took off west with about 50ft clearance all the way tae the end of the runway and went vertical intae the blue skies and then the school bell rang tae get back tae class after dinner, I emigrated to Australia in 74' I used to be a plane spotter often going to Abbotsinch.... I miss the airshows there
Hi! I was wondering where you took these from. You had a better view of the planes than I had on the seafront with the sun in my eyes from behind the planes. Have you ever tried the ''viewing platform'' at Prestwick, or is your vantage point better?

Camera is Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2000 . Position is the fence beside the man road at the end of the runway. I had wee ladders to get me above the fence

Fundamentally the sun is on the wrong side for the airshow and I always go to PIK for this event
Yes, you're absolutely right! Backlight was awful. I just discovered that as it was my first time there. Will try near the airport next year.
