  • Welcome to another mailbag video where I look at some very useful items from Banggood to help with my CNC projects.
    DC 48V 500W ER11 Brushless Spindle -- goo.gl/9nm8Cw
    Cnc Router Mill Z-Axis Tool -- goo.gl/W7iY9U
    60mm 100PPR 6 Terminal Eletronic Pulse Generator:- goo.gl/sHC9oE
Laser glasses for Blue -C02 light goo.gl/hpgKVf
Professional Laser glasses for C02 only goo.gl/buFLQj
for more on Laser Glasses see here :- goo.gl/hpgKVf
The power supply used to demonstrate the spindle is available from RS-Components here:- uk.rs-online.com/web/p/din-rai...
Many thanks to my sponsors Banggood and RS Components for their continued help with my projects.
    WARNING:-
Regarding the Laser Googles, I can not vouch that they are good for their intended purpose as they do not have any of the required ratings for UV or IR radiation based on ANSI Z87.1 specifications, see here for more details blog.safetyglassesusa.com/what.... in many situations they will not be allowed without this certifications and I have no easy way of testing them.
They do look like they will provide some level of protection as they are made from Polycarbonate and this is opaque to C02 laser light and if the published ratings on the product page are correct then they should work. Use at your own risk!
No glasses can protect you if you dont wear them and even certified glasses can not protect against stupid...

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I thought the spindle was rated for 100 volts, when using the controller and only feeding it 48 volts is it only at half speed? Or is it full speed but half torque? Thanks for the review. Cheers

The motor is rated at 48V, 500W, the controller will work up to 50V. if you run it on say 24V it should turn at the same speed on no load but it will have much less torque. the speed is controlled by the frequency of the output to the motor via the 3 wires. (Think VFD)

i look for make a small cnc for cut sheet aluminum thinkness max 6mm! can the DC 48V 500W ER11 Brushless Spindle do it? thank you for all your vidéos. very interesting.

it should be able to handle it, this is one of the reasons I wanted one,. You may want to get a bigger er11 collet though for using say 6.25mm (1/4") bits. the trick is to manage your speeds and feeds

Depends on how fast you want to cut.

the speed is not important because is hobby for home.

Stunam! Vap ok. Then it will work.
Rigidity of the machine, the power of the motors, the tool and the material are all parts of the equation. That decides if it is possible and if, how fast.
500 w would be reasonable enough to machine aluminium.

Ohh, fingers so close to live current at 20:15. :-)

I think your time reference may be off there but you will notice the red device on the far left of the screen (Black and red to the left of the power supply) , this is a quick connect, with the lid up as it is seen at 18:15, there is no mains on the power supply. even if it were, the actual metal of the terminals is quite deep in the connector and the wires also have plastic coated ferrules on them so even if it were live, there is very little chance of me touching the electricity. lastly, not that I would want to test this theory, i have a ground leak circuit breaker in as well, so it should trip if i made a mistake.

Peter Oakes thanks. Yes, you are right about the time. Can't understand how that happen. Oh, I missed a Zero. Zeros do matters. :-)
      That sounds much more security.
