I've been meal prepping for about 2 months now and I've lost around 25 pounds. Portioning out your food before hand is so important and helpful! I love the ziplock Baggie ideal for individual portions, gonna try that!
+Ashley Burton I'm so glad you're inspired! Honestly, taking some time before prepping to plan out my prep day makes a WORLD of difference. I can be so much more efficient when I make my lists and plan beforehand :) My eBook breaks down the planning process if you're interested in more! mindovermunch.com/ebooks Cheers!
Can you do a video on meal prep for travelers? Like if a person has to go stay in a hotel for a week - what can you reasonably bring on a plane, what can you do if your hotel room has or does not have refrigerator or microwave?
That's so amazing, what a huge compliment!! Thank you! I am truly honored to be a part of your health journey, and I'm so glad this channel is something positive in your life :) :)
I meal prep three recipes and then I can switch out between lunch and dinner and I don't get bored. I also use the large muffin pans to make the egg soufflé muffins. Instead of chopping onions and veggies all day to put into it, I buy a bag of Birds Eye Protein Blends, specifically the Southwest flavor and put a spoonful of it in each muffin. The sweet potato's do triple duty by eating them as a side dish, and I blend some up with honey and Greek yogurt for a snack or breakfast and a couple are left over in the fridge as something to nibble on. I am loving food prepping. I have been doing it for 4 months. I spend on average less than $70 a week on food and I have lost 25 pounds. Thanks for the new ideas I got from this video.
+Sarah White Wow! You have got the food prep DOWN! That is fantastic, and congrats on your success! Meal prepping really makes a huge difference in my success, too - if I do it, I stay on track, and if I don't, I don't. So glad you found the video useful, thank you for watching! :)
Sarah White That is great Ms Sarah, very excited and encouraging. I have to lose 150 pounds, so I really want this to work for but can't afford $70 week on food. I told my nutritionist that is why I don't eat breakfast or lunch every other day. I find myself to be irritated and still hungry.any one else with this issue? Who to handle this? Thank you.
for perfect boiled eggs, place eggs in pan, cover with cool water, bring to rapid boil, turn heat off and let sit 10 min in covered pan. perfect every time. you're wecome
I want to know what you plan on doing with the chopped peppers. Are they for salad? A snack? To put in recipes? Just curious why they are chopped. Thanks :)
I usually chop my veggies like this too... I sautee them and add quinoa or jasmine rice with a little salt and pepper. Or sometimes I do a veggie omelet with avocado.
Jessica Bustle it makes eating it and using it in recipes convenient. instead of cutting it up when you need it, you cut it in bulk so when you need it you only need to use it.
I've only begun meal-prepping a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad you don't make ALL meals but instead just focus on making life and clean-eating easier. Thank you! I don't feel as overwhelmed!
+Fanny Chirinos-Tober Absolutely!! So glad you're feeling less overwhelmed. There are all types of meal prep for different types of people... I personally find I'm more successful with just the basics :)
+sereneebaby Yeah! The great thing about meal prep is it can be as simple or complex as you want! You don't HAVE to prep every meal if you don't want :) Check out my whole meal prep playlist if you'd like! th-cam.com/play/PLt2c0hX1aB8pDTXK_Vk10cDza8nx05fp4.html Cheers!
I just want to say, I recently found your channel and I am obsessing over your videos!!!! Healthy is so accessible, with your how to on meal prep, to the video where you show healthy options "if you have to" eat out at fast food places, and your mind over munch videos!! I am a college student, so canned beans and one minute brown rice are great options for sides and inexpensive and most of your recipes include under 5 ingredients and 2 ingredient recipes AMAZING!!! This food prep video (just at the broccoli soup portion, but had to stop and say is a big help and can't wait to watch the rest!!! Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!!!
Melinda Jenkins :) Thank you!!! I'm so glad you are finding the videos and recipes useful and enjoyable :) Your enthusiasm motivates and inspires me!! I will keep those easy recipes coming, and LOTS of meal prep too!
I used to meal prep, but I find veggies go bad very fast and sometimes I can't use all of them before they go bad. What suggestions do you have to that?
+Maggie Wang I used to have that problem when I used fresh veggies. I switched to frozen and now I don't have that problem plus its more cost effective. also instead of prepping for a full week you could break it up and prep twice a week instead of just once :-)
+Maggie Wang You could also do a soup or something with lots of veggies that you could froze so by the mid week you just have to take them out of the freezer!
I love your channel so much. You have taught me that eating fresh healthy food can be easy, customizable, and fun. I am a competitive figure skater and it is crucial for me to keep a slender fit body. Your channel and e-books have made it so fun and easy. I would say keep up the good work but you are beyond good so keep up the amazing work!
Kelsie Olono You are amazing! Thank you for your support, I can't tell you how much your sweet comment means. It really does motivate me to continue and do more. So so glad you're finding all of the resources valuable and entertaining, and that you are able to incorporate them into your awesome and unique lifestyle! Makes it all worth it :) Cheers!
So glad I found you in my suggestions!! My husband and I started meal prepping using the guidelines (4 pages) from his trainer while I was on maternity leave and it was WAY too time consuming. So after 2 weeks I gave up. I will definitely be getting the e-book and now a Subscriber on here!
+AbcsofLife oh awesome!! I know that some people think meal prep has to be a certain way, but it doesn't! It can totally be modified to suit your lifestyle. I prep differently even based on the week I have! I hope you find your meal prepping journey helpful on this next try, I think the eBook will really help!
I menu plan and meal prep. Back to school is coming and I am trying to get ahead of the game. Would love healthy freezer ideas. One for now and one for the freezer kinda thing. Love your knowledge!
Loved it but, you sealed those baggies hot probally for the video but.....you should let them cool first or the condensation causes bacteria to grow quickly and and it will spoil faster. I'm a cook who loves meal prep great plan to keep healthy food on hand. Great video!
Mind Over Munch I believe you because package food companies obviously don't let food cool before packing it would drastically slow inventory plus it's done with machinery in the fastest way possible yet we all eat it and are fine.
Last week was my first time meal prepping and I loved it! I did a bit of a combination: I prepped a three staples that could be combined or separated however I wanted and lots of fruit for healthy snacking. All in all, it ended up yielding about 8 meals, which was great for me. Ideally, I'd like to prep more, but I don't have enough space in my fridge. It helped a lot to know I was going home to a healthy, easy dinner each night.
Abby Forth Yes! That's so great! Starting with 8 meals is fabulous, great job! I'm sure knowing how easy having that dinner readily available was will inspire you to give it a go again :) Keep it up!!
I've heard folks say this about hot food before, and it's absolutely not true... heat kills bacteria. If you put hot food into an airtight container and close it up before it cools you're much less likely to get bacteria in it... it's the same process used in canning.. the idea is to sterilize with heat before bacteria in the environment can enter in.
@@sevrinaanastasia BPA had a lot of fear-mongering associated with estrogenic effects years ago, and they all turned out to be hype. Bisphenol A has not been shown to be even remotely harmful to human health in meta-studies; it turns out your body converts BPA to an inactive form if you get it into your body from any form of hard plastic. If you see brands still advertising that they're BPA-free it's purely an advertising strategy at this point for people that don't read the literature on this. If BPA had a negative measurable effect, it would be removed from the market by the FDA; they have pretty strict standards on this and did years of follow-up study. BPA is found in hard plastics and resins, CDs, and many dental devices; not in your typical soft food containers.
This makes me want to do meal prepping. I am currently meal planning and now I need to just do the meal prepping. I have found that by meal planning it causes me a lot less stress and now to add meal prepping I will have even less stress. Thank you for sharing.
Small tip but you should get tops for your "protein portion" containers instead of using plastic bags in order to cut down on plastic wastage. Just a small thing. Great video!! :)
+Sammi Trus Not only plastic bags for the meat, but when having time to prepare food for whole week, she could cook the beans and chickpeas.. I don't know how it's in US but in Czech Republic there's not really a good way to "recycle" cans.
I plan every single meal a week in advance only because I snack too much and even with a meal prep i'll eat way too many eggs or way too much salsa if I don't limit my portions! Great video :)
Spades Shades I totally understand! Everyone's meal prep is different, and that's what I wanted to share- a lot of people think it has to be one way or another but it doesn't- a little OR a lot of prep can help! Cheers!
I usually make my breakfast and snacks/salads the night before and I make dinner fresh then make more for lunch the next day. Then I always make enough rice or Ill make double portions of my protein so I can just grab it :) Im weird about having full meals in the fridge for 6 or 7 days haha
I am so excited that I found your channel. I don't know why I have such a hard time with meal prep. You are right it doesn't have to be hard. So I'm going to move forward and get your eBook. Can't wait. Thanks!!!
I hope you enjoy! You can do as much or little as you want, it takes some practice too. I've been doing it a while now and have it down so in about 2 hours on Sunday I can get all 7 days worth of food prepped for me and Christian! Saves me so much time during the week!
Omg! I have that chopper for almost 10 years now and NEVER knew to use it on veggies! I have ONLY used it for onions.. this has changed my life for sure!
I just can't watch americans cutting away half the strawberry and throwing away half the bell pepper… why??? just why?? noone in europe does that. we cut around the green stemm and separate the green from the strawberry with the fingers. not with a knife…
+Sonja Inreiter Yeah. It's true.. However, most of what she cut wasn't ripe. If you're eating berries out of season then the ends are really bitter and woody. It would be better to wait until they are actually ripe or just choose a different fruit for the time of year. Her berries were probably shipped across the country on a truck for a few days prior to arriving at her grocery store.
I know what u mean. It was painful watching the strawbery being thrown away. We simply pinch the green leaves off the fruit n wash and munch!! Food wastage man!!!
I am a new subscriber and I must say that I am loving your channel! Although I am not a vegan or vegetarian, I love vegetarian meals and try to incorporate at least two meat free meals a week. I'm a culinary student and I am looking for nutritional and fulfilling meals and snacks to help me get a healthier lifestyle. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and iron deficiency anemia. I am also a heavy bleeder during my time of the month and am always tired and exhausted. I have to remind myself to even eat because I'm so tired and drained. Any ideas or suggestions for me would be appreciated. I love meal prep because I am a wife and mother of seven and it helps especially when I'm going through a fibromyalgia flare up like I am now. I can't wait to see what you do next. I'm excited about g
Welcome to the channel! So glad to have you here :) and thank you for your kind words! I'm also not a vegan or vegetarian, but I do choose a lot of plant-based foods in my own life, and I want this channel to welcome all lifestyle choices! It sounds like you're dealing with some challenging health conditions, and I admire your active interest in your health! Meal prep definitely helps me the most with saying on track with healthy eating, and REMEMBERING to eat on those busy days. It's the ultimate way to make eating and health more convenient. SO excited to share the rest of 2017 with you! All the best to you and your family
Love how you store food in Mason jars. It's practical and pretty. I'm not really a food prepper at this time, but I plan on doing it in the near future. Thanks!
+Jeannette A. my pleasure! making the food look appealing in my fridge honestly helps encourage me to eat it!! :) I hope you try prepping sometime, you don't have to do much :)
OK this young woman is GREAT !!! Just found her video's and will subscribe WOW :) AND she RINCES...all her canned n fresh veggies.....YAHOOOO... YOU GO GIRL....gonna watch again....I want that 'chopper' :) ...Keep up the GREAT work....!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another way would be forming a group (preferably people who know their way around the kitchen). So say 5 - 7 members in total, each makes one meal a week and then divide it equally in containers and you meet and divide it all up and the cycle continues.
You are my saving grace! I have been blesses to have found you and your channel! I still watch and use these same recipes for me and my family and they are just as good as they were when I first made them! The broccoli soup is killer!😍 Thank you so much! Goal for 2018.....get a veggie chopper!!!
I like this video because unlike most meal prep videos most of the content is actual meal prep rather than non stop talking for half of it then a sped up shot of someone cutting up vegetables. Very good!
+Simon Finch she feels the same way I do, In that I'd rather eat my veggies with a little diminished nutrition than not at all. If they're not prepped, I don't have the time to eat them.
WOW, you make eating healthy easier. Your approach to food and nutrition is sustainable. I love the broccoli cheese soup. Please continue with this journey.
I do basic prepping for the week. I set up my lunches in prepacked containers and grab one each day. I make in bulk brown rice, quinoa, and sweet potatoes (cutting and roasting some and baking whole). I cook chicken breasts on a sheet pan and place different seasonings on each one to give variety. I also use tuna and salmon packets as protein choices. Usually if I do ground turkey, it tends to be for weekend meals. I have been considering creating bulk foods like you do so that I can have more variety in my week.
I started prepping this semester in college because I moved off campus this school year and last semester I ate way to much ramen and PB&J sandwiches, not because I don't know how to cook, but because that was all I had time to make in the evenings (Music major here, I usually have rehearsals for shows/ensembles till 9 or so) before some studying and sleep. I decided I would make 2 dinners (enough to have 3 servings of each) and then box them up for my evening meals. In this situation I like having the meal already in its portion in a microwaveable container. It is so handy to pop your meal in the microwave and 2 minutes later you have a hot balanced meal to eat before you hit the books :)
angelfish22093 Yes that's a great tip! Having your meal ready to go with nothing to do but warm it up makes it so much easier to stay on track! Props to you for doing this in college!!! :)
plentysashimi nope, not how it works, even if you store boiling food it's not going to go bad in 5-7 days in the fridge. Condensated water is not infective and all this food will be eaten weeks before mild starts to build up.
Yes it is. Have you taken any food safe courses? I'm a chef, so I take things like this seriously. Cooked food, in general, has a shelf life of only 3-4 days. Improper cooling causes bacteria to grow faster. The longer it takes food to cool, the faster bacteria grows. If you put hot "boiling" food in sealed containers it will stay at, we call, "The Danger Zone. This is how most people get sick. Granted, if you have a good immune system this may not affect you as much. I didn't mention anything about condensation being a source of infection. However, condensation does mean more moisture, and more moisture means a bigger breeding bed for bacteria.
plentysashimi I am a chemist, microbiologist in fact.If your immune system is so shitty you can not handle week old water you are already dying. You,as a chef touch unessesary food of many people, you are a spreading hazard as well as storage for months.Ofcourse you need to store it like it's the last nutrition on Earth, she doesn't.
Food safe. We take a mandatory course, every five years called "FOOD SAFE". We don't count on the fact that people have good immune systems. We actually feed young and old people who may have compromised immune system. People watching may have a weakened immune system. It's better to be safe than sorry. That is all. Being a chemist doesn't mean you're an expert on proper food handling. I'm from Canada, so I'm not sure what standards you have in your country (not insulting you) but, in canada, we learn that food can generally last 3 to 4 days.
I'm just starting to learn how to meal prep. With a full time job, baby and self employed husband i need to be able to make dinner in as few minutes as possible. As well as prepare my lunches the night before. Thanks for all your suggestions! I prefer your way 'cause I can't imagine eating the same thing all week either.
Erin Johnson Yes! Life gets busy for sure and anyway to save time throughout the week helps us stay on track! I know you'll find the right balance. Remember that my meal prep eBook goes in depth on how to meal prep for different types of people :) mindovermunch.com/ebooks
I absolutely love this video! I always felt that meal prep was to big of a task to handle. I now realize that this is how I have been compromizing, doing the same thing, making bigger batches for the week. Thanks for opening my mind to different kinds of meal prep. This feels completely doable and more fun to me. Love it!
I am sitting in the kitchen with a huge haul of food. Been plugging away all day, cleaning and separating. I really like the way you did your prep so you aren't dedicated to having the same food for days!
Hi I just found your videos as Im looking for great meal prep and healthy meal ideas! Im wondering if your ebook you mentioned gives recipes and ideas for the veggies you chopped up? How do you use them? I love raw plain veggies but want some other ideas on how to use them. Love your bean salasa and cheesy bro soup ideas! How do we buy your ebook?
+Lisa G Awesome! So glad you found the channel! I use the chopped veggies in all sorts of ways! I put them in scrambled eggs or omelettes, into cold salads, chicken salads, tuna salads, egg salads, "burrito bowls," stir fry dinners, etc. :) Tons of options! All of my eBooks are available at mindovermunch.com/ebooks :) So happy to have you here, welcome to the channel!
I hate repetitive eating of the same kind of meal everyday; this video truly helped me! I'm struggling to take care of myself and this video gave a lot of tips! what's great is that you bought these items fresh and by using them at once not only saved you time and the freshness of the produce but you probably have the most organized fridge as well! LOL loved this! thanks for sharing!!!:)
Glad you enjoyed the video!! So awesome that you've been meal prepping :) The link for the veggie chopper is in the description of the video, but here it is for easy access if you can't find it: www.amazon.com/Vidalia-Chop-Wizard-VOWR-2/dp/B000I6JZWA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1420991776&sr=8-2&keywords=veggie+chopper
This was a great prep. Lots of time-saving here as well as portion control and food group/macro control. I just commented on the last video I viewed which was also a meal prep that I myself don't prep. I see how great it is and the reasons for its greatness, I'm just blessed to have the luxury of time. Time to savor preparation. Which is a recent development, actually. I ate the same meals for a year with little variation and only the slightest amount of preparation required. Not unhealthy but not varietous nor fresh. Except for my daily orange and my nightly veggie plate. I ate food I could grab or not invest time in. I liked my food but there was no pleasure component. Ha! Except for that orange. I SO so love that fresh orange. Well in the last few weeks, since moving, my tastes changed. I now want fresh, variety, and cleaner ingredients. See how finding your videos was perfection? Oh, as an aside, I've seen you eat chicken and turkey and did see listed a debunked video on sushi (which I haven't watched not being a meat-eater but likely will just because I enjoy you and your videos) so I assume you eat fish. Do you ever eat red meat? I view it as less healthful than white meat but I could be off on that. It's more expensive generally isn't it? Or well ground beef can be on the cheap. So, red meat thoughts? Okay so this Kickstart series. I've viewed a few videos from it but would like to see the beginning. I'd like to try it for March since it too has 31 days and I can start from the first whereas I'm already halfway through February. Where does your KIckstart series start? Ooh Bento Boxes! I see my next video to view. :)
The 2016 Kickstart series is all hosted on one playlist on my channel, called Kickstart 2016 #redefinehealth ! If you go to my channel's homepage, you can click "Playlists" and all of my playlists will show up :)
Hi, I'm learning a lot from your meal-prep video! thanks. but I have one question, how do you make sure the vegetables stay fresh at the end of the week? And where should we keep all the containers? On the freezer to freeze or just cooling refrigerator? thank you for your suggestions!
+fransisca sisca Yay! So glad you're learning :) It sort of depends on the produce, I keep some in airtight containers, some with the top popped, some with a splash of water to keep them crisp :) My meal prep eBook has a section dedicated to storing food properly, refrigerating, and freezing :) mindovermunch.com/ebooks
OK yeah I was wondering about that, whether I could eat three or four meals instead of the six because I don’t even eat my first meal till like 10 o’clock in the morning. Thanks I’m glad I found you
this video made me subscribe!! :) youre awesome. love the personality im sure it makes the prep go faster and easier. just starting my journey to weight lost and this gave me the motivation i needed for the right kind of meal prep.
+Mind Over Munch of course :) i am definitely gonna check out some more videos when i have some free time. I'm really liking that veggie chopper, bend like a solid investment. I'll definitely look into that.
Great ! I have a question: How long van you keep your chopped vegetables in thé fridge ? And does it make a difference to keep them in a glass jar or a plastic box ?
Les Conseils de Sylvie Thank you! It will depend on the produce and what type of fruit/veggie it is. I talk about this in my new eBook on Meal Prep :) For some of he veggies I keep them in loosely closed plastic bags so they can breathe a bit, and for some I keep them in airtight jars but add a splash of water throughout the week to keep them crisp :) I prefer glass to plastic personally but I don't think it makes a huge difference.
Mind Over Munch Thank you for your answer. I also prefer glass :) Will you continue after January with the calendar and goal sheet for the rest of the 2015 months ?
+1CollegeGirl18 Hi! I usually use about 1 Tbsp per pound of meat but it depends on the recipe and how strong I want it :) I don't usually measure when I cook, I usually try to season to taste! :)
Liked your video. Subscribed. Love your quick and easy meal suggestions. What was the can you had trouble opening when making your brocolli soup? I couldnt see it cause it was unclear.
I meal prep for breakfast and lunch is easy to grab and go. Plus is healthier than drive through food. My family and I are up at 5 a.m and out the door by 6:30. I do not have time to make anything at that time. I do all of my prepping on Sunday as I make my Sunday dinner.
I'm interested in getting one of those choppers, but I had a couple questions. How does it hold up with tougher veggies, such as carrots and potatoes? And does it come with multiple blades, besides just chopping/dicing?
***** I haven't tried carrots or potatoes... I bet it would work for thinner slices of potatoes (1/4 inch or so). It comes with 2 sizes- one for larger and one smaller pieces. It is a life saver for me!! :)
I dream to be able to meal prep... I feel it is a lot of work but I do want to try plus I have some weight to loose and a newborn to feed so I need to prepare my meals but I don't know where to start. I gonna check your ebook first maybe ! Thanks
+Angélique VUILMET Yes!! Meal prepping takes some initial work but it's SO helpful to me for staying on track throughout the week. I think the eBook will really help you get started! Cheers :)
I add a half of paper towel or wrap my veggies in paper towels to absorb the moisture. when the towel get too damp replace with a fresh one also my mom puts her paper toweled wrapped veggies in paper bags rather than plastic. they last longer and stay fresh
Smart thinking! What a huge help this is for busy people and would stop me reaching for bread when starving! Just need a bigger fridge! I've a tiny one! J
maatimn Good question! It makes it a lot easier to peel the shell off the egg after you boil it! Check it out in my home hacks video here: th-cam.com/video/Dpo1gznMDow/w-d-xo.html
Finn Starr I think things tend to be used when they are 1- easy to grab quickly- 2- already prepped, 3- organized, older food in front, newer stuff in back, 4- appealing to look at. I know that sounds weird, but admit it- There is something very unappetizing about opening a fridge and seeing a million 'mystery' containers covered in foil. You shouldn't have to open 7 things before you find what you are looking for, ya know? So get clear containers with color coded tops, or even labels that say what's inside and the date it was made. That's all you can do, before it's up to you and your decision to eat it. But rest assured, food that is visually appealing, easy, quick and fresh will be eaten, I promise! Be well, friend!
Simple and straight forward presentation, Loved it! Thanks so much, I will be starting this kind of meal plan right after my next grocery haul. Looks fairly easy and fun (:
+Shannan Outler It depends on the veggie. I prep 4-5 days at a time, and put mine in an airtight container, or leave the lid on but not closed. Sometimes adding a splash of water helps to keep the veggies fresh. My Meal Prep eBook helps explain how to store/refrigerate/freeze food properly :) mindovermunch.com/ebooks
Hi! Do you find any difference between storing the veggies in a flask or a tupperware? Also, after cutting everything, does it usually stand "fresh" for the week? Thanks for the great video.
+SMiguela Thanks! I usually prep for 4-5 days and it lasts. If it's meat or fish I may freeze it if it's for more than 3 days. It doesn't really matter if it's glass or plastic, I prefer glass and think it might stay a bit fresher but plastic is fine as well :) My eBook gives storage tips as well! mindovermunch.com/ebooks Cheers!
If you want the veggies to really last....sprinkle them after they are chopped evenly on a cookie sheet and freeze. Then put them in the jars and use straight from freezer anytime you need them......so much less waste....and I have found my son loves using our veggie chopper and keeps me in great supply easily lol!
I usually meal prep for the entire week....lunch & dinner for the family, but I do like what you did and will try implementing that as well. Especially because I waist sooo much produce by buying it and not using it right away. Your way would help me to preserve it and not waist food/$$$$. Thanks for sharing.
if you don't get to your veggies fast enough you can turn them into a relish or salsa or freeze them. I cut and freeze onions and peppers all the time because I know I'll use them sooner or later. Cucumbers do great in vinegar. you can eat them plain or add to salad.
Love this video . I know you'd love the Norpro dough scraper/chopper (stainless) on amazon. Great for moving veggies from the chopper to the storage container or pan and CHEAP.
I've been meal prepping for about 2 months now and I've lost around 25 pounds. Portioning out your food before hand is so important and helpful! I love the ziplock Baggie ideal for individual portions, gonna try that!
That's fantastic!! Thank you so much for giving it a try :) glad it's been working in your life!
RobinOrzo
Question? Is it kept frozen because the bag sometimes melt before the food it hot.
RobinOrzo cookbook
How do you manage your time so efficiently while cooking so many things at once, I am so inspired!
Yes, I was looking at that, thanks for sharing!
Can you do a video on meal prep for travelers? Like if a person has to go stay in a hotel for a week - what can you reasonably bring on a plane, what can you do if your hotel room has or does not have refrigerator or microwave?
Awesomewad great suggestion! Thank you!
Yea that's a great idea 👍
Great idea!
I was on a trip once where just getting there took around 1.5 days and it was pretty hard to figure out what to take with me...
Teamcore24 in my
I am so grateful for TH-cam! Bringing people like you into my home is helping me to improve my quality of life. Thank you
That's so amazing, what a huge compliment!!
Sarah White
That is great Ms Sarah, very excited and encouraging. I have to lose 150 pounds, so I really want this to work for but can't afford $70 week on food. I told my nutritionist that is why I don't eat breakfast or lunch every other day. I find myself to be irritated and still hungry.any one else with this issue? Who to handle this? Thank you.
for perfect boiled eggs, place eggs in pan, cover with cool water, bring to rapid boil, turn heat off and let sit 10 min in covered pan. perfect every time. you're wecome
that's what I do. perfect every time.
yeah why did she punch a hole in them
I want to know what you plan on doing with the chopped peppers.
You can also freeze peppers. I cut mine in at least quarter portions.
I don't meal prep, but after seeing this I think I might start. This was a lot different from other meal prep videos.
+sereneebaby Yeah! The great thing about meal prep is it can be as simple or complex as you want! You don't HAVE to prep every meal if you don't want :) Check out my whole meal prep playlist if you'd like! th-cam.com/play/PLt2c0hX1aB8pDTXK_Vk10cDza8nx05fp4.html Cheers!
+Kay M I get overwhelmed too..I have kids so I always consider meal planning snd prepping but grt overwhelmed at the thought
Agreed!!!
+Maggie Wang Pickle them or put them in water+lemon juice after cutting them
+Maggie Wang I used to have that problem when I used fresh veggies. I switched to frozen and now I don't have that problem plus its more cost effective. also instead of prepping for a full week you could break it up and prep twice a week instead of just once :-)
Decide what you'll have got breakfast lunch and dinner, so when you go to the grocery store your only buying what you need for that week.
+Maggie Wang You could also do a soup or something with lots of veggies that you could froze so by the mid week you just have to take them out of the freezer!
+CHELSEA CORDERO When you use frozen, do you wait before cooking the veggies, or are you saying that the frozen ones stay good longer?
Great video, I am a bodybuilder in training season, your videos are very helpful. May God bless you and your family always.
+Yolanda Nollie Awesome!! I don't compete but lifting is my chosen form of fitness
:-) Awesome, I am always excited as well as honored to watch and learn from your videos. :-)
There are TONS of videos like this but this one is the creme de la creme!!! Thank u:)
Thank you so much! :)
love how the inside of my fridge looks organized, thanks for the kick in the butt I needed.
ckdoll You are welcome! I have to come back to this to even motivate myself sometimes lol! :)
How long does the chopped vegetables last in the glass jars? If you don't use them all in a week.
+Trinity Shadowstar Probably best to get rid of it after 5-7 days if it has been chopped or prepared in some way.
Put them in a smoothie or in a soup. :-)
I menu plan and meal prep. Back to school is coming and I am trying to get ahead of the game. Would love healthy freezer ideas. One for now and one for the freezer kinda thing. Love your knowledge!
nice! I have a few freezer meal prep videos :)
Loved it but, you sealed those baggies hot probally for the video but.....you should let them cool first or the condensation causes bacteria to grow quickly and and it will spoil faster.
I'm a cook who loves meal prep great plan to keep healthy food on hand. Great video!
+Vix DIx I discuss this in a recent video on how to store prepped food- it's been proven to be safe to store food when it's warm. Cheers!
Mind Over Munch I believe you because package food companies obviously don't let food cool before packing it would drastically slow inventory plus it's done with machinery in the fastest way possible yet we all eat it and are fine.
Vix DIx
Thank you for that information. I didn't realize that.
Okay, who is right, because I don't want to get sick or died.
I need that veggie chopper in my life!

Nice video.
Btw, don't seal containers with hot food in it, bacteria will dramatically spread.
Its also not safe to store hot foods in plastic because of the BPA.
koskoz yeah it has to be room temp or will spoil
+Becky Fischer my pleasure! I hope you find it useful :) Cheers!
Small tip but you should get tops for your "protein portion" containers instead of using plastic bags in order to cut down on plastic wastage. Just a small thing. Great video!! :)
+Sammi Trus True, I feel bad using zip lock bags because that is just more waste into the landfill. I prefer using reusable lunch boxes.
+Sammi Trus I wash and reuse the ziplock bags when I'm finished with them.
rosasareblue good job !
+leccah use glass jars (masson, or reuse old sauce/jam jars :) a bit heavier yes but worth not polluting!
+Sammi Trus Not only plastic bags for the meat, but when having time to prepare food for whole week, she could cook the beans and chickpeas.. I don't know how it's in US but in Czech Republic there's not really a good way to "recycle" cans.
I have one of those veggie choppers. I just love it. Those little cubes are so satisfying!
Yes they are!
Cheers!
do you store you meals in fridge or in freezer?
mahera imran both! It depends on the meal. My eBook contains an entire section on what to freeze vs. what to refrigerate :)
I usually make my breakfast and snacks/salads the night before and I make dinner fresh then make more for lunch the next day. Then I always make enough rice or Ill make double portions of my protein so I can just grab it :) Im weird about having full meals in the fridge for 6 or 7 days haha
Leesha Houlden That's great! I need double portions of protein, too!
I love your swagger and style, very entertaining camera personality :)
HumerusFitness Thanks Brian! Love your channel!!

Omg! I have that chopper for almost 10 years now and NEVER knew to use it on veggies! I have ONLY used it for onions.. this has changed my life for sure!
michellecruz28 Yes! It makes a world of difference!!! :)
Her berries were probably shipped across the country on a truck for a few days prior to arriving at her grocery store.
ehm actually in Europe they also do that... ;)
vesa87 in my area they don’t. probably because we eat ripe fruit here. idk
Well, we don't always have perfectly ripe strawberies ;) if you do, lucky you...
I know what u mean. It was painful watching the strawbery being thrown away. We simply pinch the green leaves off the fruit n wash and munch!! Food wastage man!!!
Watching all of your meal prep videos for ideas! I love your creative and healthy menu ideas that I can adapt for kids. Thx!
Yay so glad you're enjoying!! :) :)
Why dirty so many bowls to portion the turkey?
+TwinkieToes lol, I guess I love doing dishes! You can portion the turkey however you want :)
Great little video. This shows people how to prep in a way that they are more likely to stick to. LOVE THE POSITIVE, CAN DO ATTITUDE. Thanks
Robert Becker thank you! So glad you enjoyed :) I want to show people that there is more than one way to meal prep for success!!
I know it's a bit late but what about overnight oats for a quick and easy breakfast
Just found her video's and will subscribe WOW :)
AND she RINCES...all her canned n fresh veggies.....YAHOOOO...
YOU GO GIRL....gonna watch again....I want that 'chopper' :) ...Keep up the GREAT work....!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another way would be forming a group (preferably people who know their way around the kitchen). So say 5 - 7 members in total, each makes one meal a week and then divide it equally in containers and you meet and divide it all up and the cycle continues.
great idea!
this video is so well done!!!!
+Alisha's Guide thank you! :)
I love that kind of can opener! I have the same one except in black!
it's so helpful!
You are my saving grace! I have been blesses to have found you and your channel! I still watch and use these same recipes for me and my family and they are just as good as they were when I first made them! The broccoli soup is killer!😍 Thank you so much! Goal for 2018.....get a veggie chopper!!!
I appreciate you! Thank you
I like this video because unlike most meal prep videos most of the content is actual meal prep rather than non stop talking for half of it then a sped up shot of someone cutting up vegetables. Very good!
+Cat Kane :) Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Prep in moderation is good but chopping veg and storing for a week isn't a great because the nutritional value diminishes.
+Simon Finch I just chop the basics :) Cheers!
+Mind Over Munch Even 'basics' spoil. But do it anyway - nutritional value is so over rated
Akilah Morris Smith So glad you're finding the channel helpful! Thank you so much for watching! And definitely try that soup! It's so tasty!! :)
I would marry you based on your ability to meal prep skills.
lol
aky19832001 funny 😁
=)
i'd adopt her
I do basic prepping for the week. I have been considering creating bulk foods like you do so that I can have more variety in my week.
awesome!
Please don't put hot food in plastic !
+Artvisiona thanks for your feedback!
Why not¿
google it !
Please cool or vent your food before packaging your food. Or at least stress that you should do so. You could get someone sick.
plentysashimi nope, not how it works, even if you store boiling food it's not going to go bad in 5-7 days in the fridge.
I really enjoyed this video and the ideas that you had about preparing food for the week. Thanks for the inspiration.
Living & Loving Life with PCOS you bet! Another is coming soon :)
Not a good idea putting hot food into plastic freezer bags. Just let it cool first.
+Simon Finch sure you can!
Feel free to do so!
yes it is a good idea, show me your proof that it's bad and I will show you the proof that it's not bad...deal?
I'm just starting to learn how to meal prep. With a full time job, baby and self employed husband i need to be able to make dinner in as few minutes as possible. As well as prepare my lunches the night before. Thanks for all your suggestions! I prefer your way 'cause I can't imagine eating the same thing all week either.
Erin Johnson Yes! Life gets busy for sure and anyway to save time throughout the week helps us stay on track! I know you'll find the right balance. Remember that my meal prep eBook goes in depth on how to meal prep for different types of people :) mindovermunch.com/ebooks
I will check it out, thanks!
You do your prep a lot like I do. Prep the veggies and it's so much easier not to be lazy about putting something together when you're really tired.
+KISSArmy Libby Exactly! Just do the minimum amount to set you up for easier cooking throughout the week :)
Fantastic. Not only full of great guidance but entertaining and creative. Well done!
Thank you! So glad you found it useful!
This was a wonderful post. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am inspired to start prepping for my own success.
Joise A so glad you're inspired! Meal prepping really helped me start to stay on track!!! :)
I absolutely love this video! I always felt that meal prep was to big of a task to handle. I now realize that this is how I have been compromizing, doing the same thing, making bigger batches for the week. Thanks for opening my mind to different kinds of meal prep. This feels completely doable and more fun to me. Love it!
I'm so glad you're finding it helpful, thank you! :)
I am sitting in the kitchen with a huge haul of food. Been plugging away all day, cleaning and separating. I really like the way you did your prep so you aren't dedicated to having the same food for days!
Great Idea to do the prep or most of it for the week..I am going to give this a try.
+Lexi C awesome! :)
+hahahappy07 So glad you found it useful! Thanks so much for taking time to watch and comment :) Cheers!
Great video. Can't see the link for the veggie chopper. My third week of meal prepping. Going well. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed the video!! So awesome that you've been meal prepping :) The link for the veggie chopper is in the description of the video, but here it is for easy access if you can't find it:

Where have you been all my life?! I just got your unjunk food and meal prep ebook. I
Noveleffect
I tried the bean salsa yesterday and my husband loved it!!! Thank you for making such good videos!! xx
Catalina Errázuriz Yeah! I love that salsa and keep it in the fridge every week :) Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed!
Great video hun, very helpful. Prepping is the way to go I do this and have been for 7 years.
FitAnge S wow! That's true commitment! Props to you, girl! Inspiration!!! Thanks so much for the support :)
Awesome! Thanks Alyssia. :)
Thanks! I'll check them out later :)
I need start meal prep!
i absolutely loved how everything is organized! I might try this method, i love it. Thank u so much
+Lely My pleasure! It's the only way I will actually meal prep lol
This is the best meal prep video I have seen. I was so lost on what to do. This helped alot! SUBSCRIBED!! And I love this song!
bunnbrianna Thank you! So glad you found it useful, we'll have another coming out soon :) Welcome to the channel!!
Another outstanding, informative, and enjoying video! Blessings!
Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed!! :)
+Matthew Wilson yay! So glad you are feeling motivated, that inspires me :) Happy to have you here, welcome to the channel!
I was overwhelmed thinking about where to start with meal prepping and i found the right video to put me on the right path lol definitely subscribing.
+Jalen Smith thanks so much!! Welcome to the channel, happy to have you here
I watched this video twice in a row and it got me so hungry now lol Thanks for sharing great ideas!
+Francine Washington lol my pleasure! Glad you got some ideas from it :) Cheers!
Glad it works well for you! I dont eat anything pre-cooked more than 3 days old. Definitely not 7 days.
Excellent ideas and the chef is adorable!
alex dzs :) Thanks!
Wondering if the Broccoli Cheese Soup is freezer friendly... mainly because of the cheese! 3 years later and I'm still loving these :)
yes it is!
What is your meat to taco seasoning ratio? I got your eBook and i was hoping you could clarify, thanks! I learn sooo much from you!
+1CollegeGirl18 Hi! I usually use about 1 Tbsp per pound of meat but it depends on the recipe and how strong I want it :) I don't usually measure when I cook, I usually try to season to taste! :)
+Mind Over Munch thanks so much! your awesome:)
Liked your video. Subscribed. Love your quick and easy meal suggestions. What was the can you had trouble opening when making your brocolli soup? I couldnt see it cause it was unclear.
I think it was just garlic :) thank you! Welcome to the channel! Happy to have you here :)
Hey, this was so great and entertaining too! If I may ask, what is the name of the appliance you used to chop the zucchini, etc.??
+Anne of Green Gables It's a veggie chopper! I linked it in the description :)
I love the ideas but How long do things last in the fridge before losing taste or vitamins and maybe compromising on food safety.
Love your meal prep series. Thank you.
thank you! :)
I meal prep for breakfast and lunch is easy to grab and go. Plus is healthier than drive through food. My family and I are up at 5 a.m and out the door by 6:30. I do not have time to make anything at that time. I do all of my prepping on Sunday as I make my Sunday dinner.
That's an awesome routine to have! And definitely much healthier than drive-through food!
Thank you so much for your review. I may just have to get one! Thanks!
+Sandi Young great suggestions!! Thank you!
Smart thinking! What a huge help this is for busy people and would stop me reaching for bread when starving! Just need a bigger fridge! I've a tiny one! J
yeah! :) Thanks!
I definitely want to try that salsa with the Mojo Criollo Marinade. I've never heard of it but it looks good.
***** Yes! It adds so much flavor! :)
Awesome meal prep video!!! Love the vegs in the jar.
+Denise Noles thank you!
Thanks for the video. Why did you make the pin whole in the eggs before boiling them?
maatimn Good question! It makes it a lot easier to peel the shell off the egg after you boil it! Check it out in my home hacks video here: th-cam.com/video/Dpo1gznMDow/w-d-xo.html
Do you have any tips on how to make sure everything gets used?
Looks fairly easy and fun (:
thank you so much!! :) I appreciate it
How do the chopped veggies hold up? Whats the best way to store them?
Then put them in the jars and use straight from freezer anytime you need them......so much less waste....and I have found my son loves using our veggie chopper and keeps me in great supply easily lol!
oh nice idea!
Mind Over Munch Loveeee your channel....subscriber for lyfeeee♡♡♡♡
I usually meal prep for the entire week....lunch & dinner for the family, but I do like what you did and will try implementing that as well. Especially because I waist sooo much produce by buying it and not using it right away. Your way would help me to preserve it and not waist food/$$$$. Thanks for sharing.
BeautyHaircareNMore Yes! This helps me to save money and not waste as well! So glad you found it useful, thank you!
if you don't get to your veggies fast enough you can turn them into a relish or salsa or freeze them. I cut and freeze onions and peppers all the time because I know I'll use them sooner or later. Cucumbers do great in vinegar. you can eat them plain or add to salad.
+Chesca Pargo Fantastic ideas!! Thanks for sharing!
Love this video . I know you'd love the Norpro dough scraper/chopper (stainless) on amazon. Great for moving veggies from the chopper to the storage container or pan and CHEAP.
