I soak my veges in cold water and salt. All of the dirt sinks to the bottom and bugs float to the top. My mum taught me this. Just another idea if you don’t have vege wash 😊

Same! We use cold water, salt and little bit of vinegar or baking soda on the farm to do lots of our own produce, gifts from neighbors or from the store. It’s pretty effective Although my grandma would often have like a transfer colander or strainer for the produce to sit in and drain so we could then transfer it to the rinsing bucket/sink. Sometimes a literal bathtub if it was a big enough job 😅. Between my super southern moms side and Vietnamese dads side we certainly had a way about it 😂

Don’t worry about people telling you that you need to use less water or you need to do something different than what works for you. You do you. I watch your videos because I like them and I like your approach to being a vegan. A lot of people just like to judge and hate. You are good doing whatever you feel is best for you. I appreciate your videos. You don’t need to apologize for anything that you do because we all just do the best we can. Great video just like last one. Thank you! 🙏🏻😊

This was great! A tip that might help you save some water when washing the veggies is using two bowls, one to soak with the soap, the other bowl would be filled with clean water to rinse off the produce.

Also you can take a square dish pan for washing and put the veggies into a colander, wash then place into cleaning solution, then dump washed veggies into another colander inside a square pan with clean water and swish up and down…..lift the colander out shake then I put mine into a spinner. I bought square containers with holes at Dollar Store for doing this….they make a large colander and I can have multiple ones when I have a heavy load of veggies.
I just discovered cooking turnips, onions and garlic then puréed makes an great thick base for adding to soups for a thickener…

When mini peppers are cheap I buy them in a large quantity and slice them into a mason jar with vinegar covering them and I use a plastic lid because vinegar will rust your metal lids.
Try pickling your carrots, radishes and onions for probiotic add ons to your salads. I can veggies in broth to have as quick add ons to recipes. So nice when you’re tired and want fast food, sautéed slightly and add over noodles or rice with a good sauce..yum…
I cook four vegetarian meals a week for a professional couple who works long hours and want good meals fast……a favorite is egg wraps and fill with cooked rice, thinly sliced veggies and air fry the rolls till crisp….dip in peanut sauce or sweet sour dip……so good.

You need to fill the carrot container with water to keep them fresh and crunchy and change the water every few days, that way they stay crispy and dont dry out. Same with celery sticks.

I take all my veggie scraps and put into a bag then I make my own veggie stock. I also take veggie leafs and scraps wash and dry them and I dehydrate them …..then I grind those into powder for soups, casseroles and smoothies…..a small jar of beet powder is around $18.
Even if you don’t have a dehydrator you can air dry or place in your oven on the lowest temp with the door opened a little and dry.
My husband doesn’t care for a lot of veggies but with dehydrated ones or powdered veggies he gets added nutrients …..
Also having dehydrated veggies in jars in my pantry allows me to add them into recipes if l can’t get to the store ….like last summer I dehydrated a lot of squash, zucchini, etc……giving me a source to go to when prices area really high. Dehydrated cherry tomatoes are like candy ….great on salads and sandwiches……rehydrated and puréed into a sauce or dressing in the winter when you crave the garden fresh taste…
