But because of some awkward joke about a plushie of a lamb anime character being “hot” I just stumbled across Jeff Gerstmann getting the worst aged introduction ever, transitioning into some random dude getting kicked off stage since he’s not supposed to be there. Only then to then have Jeff proceed to kick ass in Um Jammer Lammy and thus win himself an UJL guitar which he almost went on to immediately smash on stage. I regret nothing.
This was made in a time where almost every video game/movie/new franchise had a live show based on it to promote it, and they weren’t afraid to do it. Imagine trying to get Nintendo to do something like this for Super Mario nowadays…
