To this day, Parappa is unique among rhythm/music games because of the scoring system, which encourages adlibs. I've been playing music since the 90's but I suck at pretty much every rhythm/music games...except Parappa, because it's the only game where you can actually jam.
I love how this was the only music game EVER where improvisation was encouraged. Every other music/rhythm game I've ever seen has punished players for adding extra notes. In Parappa and UmJammer Lammy, you could even score points for removing notes. :D
