hopefuly the devs of Gundam Evolution realize that this times when OW is slipping are an invaluable chance, and they need to promote and polish the game NOW to be an alternative that people can know and consider as a good game
Gun evo needs to get itself into a state where it can justify itself to an average player though first. As it is now people will play Overwatch 2

Not gonna lie, and like I suspected, I haven't touched Gundam since OW2 dropped. A big part of that is the PC optimization. OW2 runs like a dream and looks great on my PC but Gundam has always felt like a struggle to get it to look even ok while maintaining a reasonable frame rate.
Gun evo is super unoptimized
Bandai is a big company but it doesn't mean they have unlimited budget for games, more specially to a new genre to them. I think the advertising is enough for now because they don't even support a lot of regions yet. If they go all out at an early phase like this then it's wasted because half the world can't even play it yet.

I hope this game grows but they need to work on allowing more balance, and punishing players that keep quitting mid game. Also add more maps / modes.

Fundamentally speaking both games share many of the same problems..
Overwatch has just been around long enough for most people to get past the denial and copium stages..
Gundam evolution has many of the same problems, however the game lacks polish.
Both games are built to be cash grabs.. Blizzard has some clue as to what their doing.. Bandai on the other hand, seems pretty lost and is just trying to wing it..
Ow just hooked people at the beginning before it was bad, now they keep coming back for their dope fix
i believe Ow2 has a chance in terms of balance since its being updated regularly anyways. Ge aswell GE and Ow 2 balancing are pretty balanced sorta XD but Ge and Ow2 both have chances in improving especially that ow2 has active devs and Ge has an active community updating the devs aswell.

My opinion, tbh the thing I want gundam evolution to learn from is from valorant, they have really good pacing of fixing stuff and release updates, they promote theyre game a lot and have times on content on youtube to promote the game. If gundam evolution does what valorant does I thk it will have a steady progression. Have patch updates and listen to the community and fix changes in the game. And kudos to them cause they actually listen to our feedback and now there seems to be hope for this game. AND YES THE MARKETING, THEY NEED MORE MARKETING IS LITERALLY GUNDAM, IM PRETTY SURE THEYLL GET MORE PLAYERS IF THEY JUST PROMOTE THE GOD DAMN GAME

I get the point of the maps. By trying to do lore accurate maps they ended up with these. But for what I can see it's only UC maps they still have many more universes to draw inspiration from
I want both games to be good. It just sucks that both come from the stingiest companies of all time. Gundam evolution is gonna live or die based on how good the next update is, if they’re even doing that.

Personally i love how the maps allow for several avenues of flanking, but more maps and larger maps, certainly more attractive maps, would go a long way for this game.
Beyond that it needs bug fixes and more game modes, and it can be a consistent comparable game to overwatch imo. And that achievement would help Gundam as a franchise tremendously.
Yeah, but I still have a lot of hope, we are getting a lot already and that’s while the game hasn’t really truly began, once consoles versions are out I’m pretty sure things are going to ramp up
I think gundam evolution is already perfect as a whole because it brings back something old and that’s how characters are each broken in their own way and broken weak when out of that element. It creates scenarios where players have to adapt and learn to use new tactics to defeat the opponent and gives coordination as a option to make the job easier which to me is massively better than overwatch already and feels refreshing. Playing old games like the old cod mw2 or old halo where guns or abilities were broken only if you played them the way they were meant to be used and were extremely weak out of that area they had for expertise. And we all have to keep in mind this is gundam not overwatch and playing previous games they’ve made I can say they’ve always done good with each formula they use for the various games and to me the one thing I love the most is the imbalances because it means each character has potential to be amazing and horrible depending entirely on the pilot and his skill plus his teams skill if they want to have coordination. However I understand y’all have your own opinion and this is just how I feel about the game in my own opinion. Playing overwatch for years and cod and all these new games the only one that I love the most is gundam evolution because they stick to core characteristics of the suits and the maps keep to that of a actual battlefield providing endless opportunities so you can’t just take it chill like oh he can’t come from here or there and lock them off because you have so many different areas to move and it’s just so refreshing compared to a lot of other games where the map structures limit and constrain movement heavily so the enemy can predict easily where you are. This game to me just love how it is already especially since each suit has answers to each situation and all around just can’t see anything needing improvement and if it does I’m sure they will fix it with what they know best gbo2 and as gundam alliance getting updates and balances that are really good so I’m sure they will keep doing good with all of them. Still this is just my own opinion and I respect your own.
I think Gundam Evo has the advantage of being a new game - meaning just like what the video says, there's still the opportunity to fix characters and balance issues early before it festers (like the OW2 healers problem. Literally cannot kill anyone if theyre tethered to a Mercy now.) And people can still be optimistic that future seasons and updates will bring more content. That is of course if the devs for Gundam Evo want this game to get big beyond being Gundam fanservice, because if they do, it can be the gateway for people like me to actually getting into gunpla. The only reason I found out about Gundam Evo is because a ton of Hololive talents started playing it.
I hope for more maps and gamemodes, but even before that, more advertising, just like the video says. Maybe partnering with content creators on YT and Twitch will be cheaper than a traditional PR blast. Heck, just imagining a proper collaboration between Bandai and Cover Corp would probably bring millions onto Gundam Evo.
What if they made stun abilities just deal extra dmg versus shields rather than completely destroying. Maybe 2 times more dmg for example.
Would be a start for adjustment, but that still means they shouldn’t be able to shoot through shields
I only have a ps5 i couldent play that game yet. But a problem what I always see in videos and streams is gettin killed around corners and the time to death looks crazy. It looks like you need 5 seconds to kill someone but die in 1 second. I hate this in every game. When it comes out on console, i hope this stuff is away.

Queues in this game is rigged and unfair. Havent won a single match. Have an on-going 50 something lose streak with enemy team praising me. Witnessed team died to a 4v1 low hp pale rider. Something is suspicious and fishy with the queue. Fix it bamco ty.

As someone who watched and played many other hero shooters that have died as Overwatch ascended (Gigantic, Battleborn), I preditct Gundam evolution will not win against Overwatch's fan base.
It's simply a rule 34 diff. Mechs will never have a large enough sex appeal compared to Overwatch characters that can fit every niche and kink.
It doesn’t need to win against it tbh, there’s plenty of people to snap up that don’t like ow2. But you can’t ever get them if they don’t know the game exists
Overwatch will never change? Idk about that it's just the formula now is getting them money and a lot of player count but with that out the way I think gundam evolution is more fun
The larger the audience the more likely it is that developers pander to morons instead of people who understand what's going on. Diminishing returns on player feedback with large audiences. Eventually morons will drown out sensible approaches.
5 years of past history always ended with them not changing their core garbage philosophy that ended them butchering the game to where it is now. There’s no reason they’d change

The only thing overwatch has right now is cross progression and console.i have plenty of friends who cant play gundam right bow so they just play overwatch 2
And about 450 times as many twitch viewers lol. I know there are ad steams atm, but they have to have at least 100 times the playerbase
Pessimistic view. You had some decent notes about balancing, but overall from what I can gather you simply can't stand that OW2 is doing well and GE is not as big as you want it to be. It is ok some communities thrive because they are small and tight nit! Don't make this into a OW2 vs GE battle cause the reality is OW2 is a pretty good game and has a fanbase 20x larger than GE along with lots of funding. To say the least its an uphill battle that GE cannot win. Im pretty sure the devs of GE understand greatly so they will continue to cater to their niche slice of the market.

honestly the balance is not that bad besides barb
tbh this game still needs balance besides barb... specially those one shot combos from some units, killing squishies is fine but one shoting a 1200 hp with no chance to fight back is pretty much frustrating...
just go backwards and you are fine. barbatos is only good on some maps and sucks on the rest

Holy moly EXIA is busted. Sniper shoots too fast IMHO for the possible damage output and with 20 % to 50% headshot ratio pale riders gun actually deletes in a second. I think there's some things else that are over tuned and others under tuned. I do agree though one shot combos are not fun and barb is the big offender when it comes to that. Let's not forget marasai-however it is spelled. His rope combo stunlocks to kill if he just hits his rope. Also not a fun feature

Overwatch could be a lot more balanced if they took a far more unique approach and balanced characters based on individual reactions. Tracer no longer does X damage, she does X damage to Y targets. You could do minor, minor, minor tweaks all the way around to make things better for non meta characters.
