I have to say this is the best video I have seen on this machine. Just got the grizzly hardness tester and it's been a huge learning curve but you have answered almost all my questions. Great job seriously a life saver. Gonna send you a Christmas card. Haha
Your shop is startin to get fancy with all these upgrades. No hard feelings but I'm still sending my production stuff out to Kurt. Interesting walk thru explaining about the components and multipliers for each specific scale.
Awesome video- THANK YOU! How did you know I was searching for this!? Would there be any chance you may consider a series on how to test and where to test your knives?
I've watched this video a dozen times for the part about calibrating the tester. I have the same one. I'm struggling to get mine to give consistent readings. I would like to ask if you would make a video that goes more in depth on calibrating. Especially the lever arm part that controls the dial. I look forward to seeing it. Thank you.
Thank you for the helpful video. Got the machine calibrated to within a .5 of accurate reading 48.5 on a 48 hardness. Then did 3 readings in a row and they were all over from 43 to 52. Just got the same Grizzly. Adjusted to 6 seconds in the back and have adjusted the top probably 49 times or more. Any advice on how to get consistent readings??
Well if ya notice I have a line of text in the video that says that. I just didn't have a 3rd arm to flim it. I used a cresent wrench to tight the pin nut while I held the pin screw with the flat head using my Kung Fu grip. Thanks, it's a very useful tool.
I wish I had found this video sooner, great instructions on how to make adjustments.
Glad to see you have a Rockwell tester. No more sending knives off and waiting! Congratulations on your new toy!
I have had a HT furnace set up for a while, it was just slowing down the process having to use a friend's tester to confirm.

Dude love to see your new gadget! To me more info is always better!
Enjoyed the video. Never knew how it was done till now, thanks.
Great stuff man🤘🤘Thanks for the walk around, and congrats on the new toy👍👊

No hard feelings at all Matt, I would have asked you to send to Kurt if you offered xD. This is for custom work, testing and QC :D
It is interesting how much work goes into setting up these machines, especially since my school seems to have roughly a dozen of them.
Congratulations man!! That is something that I would buy 👍👍

Excellent presentation! Great investment.

Like I said on IG, just send me a video
That's awesome! Love it
Excellent vid! How many have you poked now? LOL The addiction is real! 😂
I was waiting for you Kurt to show up here.
Un countable, like breathing 🤣

I'm having the exact same issue while using a 51.4+/1 HRC test block.
Yay!
Why not use the flat blade to hold the screw and use a wrench instead of a socket to tighten the nut? Jealous of the tester looks great

Sorry missed that part probably while writing this 🤠
