The fact that he goes to her, “the friend” , when things go wrong is NOT GOOD and is one of the biggest threats to this marriage. Her being his shoulder to cry on is an open door to comparison to his wife, rejecting his wife to be close to her, AND MORE.

    • @Causewisdom
      @Causewisdom 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I believe in the human nature part since attraction doesn't have a choose. But there is still room for preference.
Ideally, you prefer the person you're with.
I feel you don't have to set boundaries once you're able to meet the friend and establish rapport.
Women will conduct an investigation right on the front lawn.
And if there's any attachments on the friend's behalf then there leaves no room for doubts of suspension.

I don’t understand marrying someone you don’t trust and expecting them to completely alter their lives and personal relationships. As someone who has had an opposite sex best friend for over a decade I can’t date, let alone marry someone who is not ok with our relationship. It’s like asking me to marry someone who wants me to disown my family. I can’t do it. Be weary of people who want you to severe ties with your closest friends/family. They usually have control issues and could be trying to force you to be emotionally dependent on them.

It’s important TO ME to have friends of the opposite sex. I’m almost 35 and I don’t even know how to have normal conversations with men because I was taught to look at EVERY man as a potential husband. I have been blessed to have a male friend that’s been around since I was 12,& we are ONLY friends. *See this is a problem that people miss* and also why single people get upset when there friends get into relationships and they become resentful when that friend doesnt have time for them as much anymore.
"a Friend" since you were 12, right.
See, the *LONG TIME OR CHILDHOOD FRIENDS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS* because you may not recognize it but there is History and Experience between both of you.
Both of you probably got lunch, went on trips or events together but for 90% of Men ALL that stops when your in a relationship with your Man.
MOST IMPORTANTLY if yall just friends
*The topic of dating should NEVER have came up* the *LINE WAS CROSS RIGHT THERE*
Just because you both decided your friendship was more important, that fact still stands *yall considered it* and thats where the issue starts but, it comes from all that time spent together being friends.
I've even heard people call those they have had Intimacy with and still consider them friends after.
      What Really???
*Rule #1 For Marriages & Relationships NEVER put yourself in a compromising postion with the opposite sex*
Mutual friends of Married Couples or Long-term relationship are the best if your in a Marriage or keep everything Hi and Bye and cordial (Tunnel Vision).
Mutual Respect, Empathy, Understanding the best course for any marriage or relationship, if your Man or Women not cool with certain opposite sex friends or just in general respect their postion, simple.
There are some other circumstances that may change this like role of a Godfather or Godmother, sick friend, etc but this is just base approach.
Because your Husband or Wife, Man or Woman is the most important NOT friends.
*If there was a catastrophic event you not running to your friends. You will be running to and concerned about your Husband or Man, children or family*
*Friends come and go, not loving marriages or long-term relationships with a good Man or Woman*

It is possible for men to have women as friends. In the context of a relationship/marriage it is also possible but there has to be boundaries, and a cultivated relationship between the couple and the said friend, not necessarily buddy buddy but enough that you could leave that friend and your spouse together while you are not there and they can interact without friction. Ultimately there needs to be respect and trust. Respect enough for your spouse such that you're not talking to your op sex friend first thing in the morning or last thing at night. That friend should also extend same respect and if they don't, then they don't respect your relationship and as such they can be problematic

It is very important to interact with that friend around your spouse, don't take calls in private, your conversations should be such that can be had with your spouse in the room whether or not said friend is aware your spouse is there or not. It is also the responsibility of the one with the op sex friend to make effort to make their partner comfortable, it's not just for them to place the responsibility on their partner to adjust to his/her friendship. Also actively avoid situations where you get in trouble with your partner and your primary accomplice is the op sex friend, cos you are just painting them in a negative light for your partner and they will remember it. Avoid doing the consulting with op sex friend for special gifts for your partner.. In your mind you're thinking they are the same sex so they can help, but that just suggests you're talking to the op sex friend a lil too much about your partner and that's not cool.. Remember keep your friends out of your relationships regardless of their sex/gender/orientation.

My best friends are males. One is a 20 plus year relationship and other is 15 years. Both married. But I put boundaries up. As in we don't do anything unless I have contacted and made their wives know. Me and their wives are friends. And I've proven to their wives I can be trusted by being transparent. And when I say when We do something, it's mostly being a ride to pick up or drop off a car at the shop or something like that. I also don't visit their houses unless their wives know. And when I walk in the door the first thing I do is find the wife. But I have amazing friends who found secure wives and know my friendship is just that. I was a tomboy growing up so I do give more masculine energy and it's extreme friend zone energy expressed. Also when I am dating I do introduce them as well. These are my brothers. It's to the point when their wives call me to go out. I host events with their wives because we are real friends. So yes Men and women can be friends. But I also fully understand that ending a friendship may be needed in order for my friends to stay married. And I make that point clear.

I think boundaries needs to be an absolute in opposite sex friend ships. And depends on the dynamics. Single not single? Married not married? That’s important. If in a relationship it should be “y’all’s” friend when opposite sex approaches

Everyone is different and is comfortable and uncomfortable with different situations. New friends will always raise flags and old friends shouldn't be a problem, as long as it was brought up upfront

I hadn't seen these friends in years because i was 'marriednow' yet they still loved on me when my heart was broken. They helped me move my furniture and stuff change tires when needed and listen to me whine about being divorced.. Yeah they were attracted to me but loved me like a sister. We all grew up together. everybody knew we just family like that. They wife or gf was Always my friend too. I Thank God for my male friends from my home'set. Believe that! Honestly he had more of an issue with my male friends than I did with his female friends which made no sense but whatever. Point is, it's possible. I never felt threatened or put second. He was always transparent and I met them all. edit: However, to his credit, after we broke up, almost all of those male friends attempted to date me. Not a humble brag because honestly it's really disheartening to feel like a friend you trusted was really just sitting around waiting for you to become available, but my most consistent male friend is gay

I'm not saying it has to be mutual, but one of them has thought about it / is holding out hope.

He’s lived with us before. He recently got married. His wife is super cool. Went out of the country for their wedding. We were seated at the family table. We refer to each other as siblings. He gave me and my sister a car last year. Its very very clear that we are family. I will not give him up for any man. We dont chill as much cause we grown and got shit to do.
