5.7 Vortec TRUE DUAL STRAIGHT PIPES (NO CATS)

- My 1998 Chevy K1500 5.7 Vortec. Exhaust is 2 inch pipe that steps up to 2.25” pipe about half way, then it exits through 3.5” tips at 45° angles. It’s stupid loud and will probably get mufflers at some point but I’ve had this setup for 4 months and haven’t been pulled over yet.
On another note, THANKS FOR 5,000 SUBSCRIBERS! Been a long time since I posted because life’s been busy but I’ll try to get a few more vids up here and there!
I like the “slow clap” that the low end makes… just pure intensity, some may call it obnoxious but I call it beauty
Same.
I love the 5.7 350 with straight pipes
*_Got to love the purest exhaust & engine sounds, with no exhaust silencers! Sounds so good! Plus better performance._*
An X or H pipe would help the performance.
This made my day. Anyone who says this isn't amazing is a LIAR!
Hell Yeah ol blue my 1998 GMC. I'm going to do the same thing cuz I just love the sound of that good ol V8 Vortex
How to u get rid of the low end slap? Can that be tuned out?
Rest In Peace to your bro, I would do that same in my Tahoe with the stocks and flag buddy!!
NOTHING BUT RESPECT R.I.P YOUR “BRO” I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING TOO
That burnout tho lol. Rip to that 4l60e lol. Happened to mine i have the same truck
Just hit a quarter million miles in it and the transmission feels strong as ever. The truck hardly ever gets abused like that, I try to take good care of it and I’ve really had no issues at all
It sounds amazing
glad your back buddy!
I subscribed bud, the truck sounds just like my 99 k1500 5.7 when I straight piped it
Hell yeah!
@@ThatDrummerBen hey bud noticed ya got Minnesota plates, I'm from Minnesota as well
Nice to see you back
No muffler or cats and strait pipe. Now my truck at idle and cruise speed is more quiet than before. What is going on?? It was way louder when I just deleted the exhaust from the mufflers back. I straight piped it and now its quite. 98 chevy k1500 5.7l v8 4×4. 2 1/4 pipe with 4in tips. Please help! Thanks
also it depends on where u live for the noise things up here in north florida cops cant do shit because every noise violation gets thrown out
Been pulled over for noise before in other vehicles and even got a ticket but this is by far the loudest vehicle I’ve ever had and I haven’t been stopped for the exhaust yet. Pretty surprised honestly
@@ThatDrummerBen maybe because it actually sounds good instead of like shit lol
Hell yeah brother 🇺🇸
Yay he's back
3 years of waiting I’m almost 17. Bro
Nice early happy birthday
Bro I got a Chevy I already bought one gotta wait a Fucjing year
*_Now its good for the race track, lol_*
Im trying to get my 95 sounding like that
Hey buddy what tips are you running mine are 7s im thinking about going with 6 inch shorties
3.5”
Is it stock headers or long tube?
what size pipe and tips thanks in advance
Faribault Minnesota?
Would this exact exhaust setup sound the same on a 96 chevy??
Yes.
Sounds like a jake brake
Was that a whole minute on the limiter 😳😂
Nope is was at least 2 minutes😂 didn’t let off until the tire blew
Let's go the king has returned 😀
How’s the power with that size pipe?
Didn’t really notice a difference in power. Gas mileage didn’t change much or at all after the cats got removed either.
@@ThatDrummerBen it was stock before you did that??
It had true duals with cats when I bought it, one of the cats rusted through so I just deleted them. Averaged over 14 mpg with cats and it’s still pretty much the same catless
Clapper 😂🤣😂
What size exhaust?
What headers are you running?
Stock manifolds
How much was it to get it all done?
All the pipe was already ran just cost me 150 or so to have pipe welded in place of the cats
What’s your normal mpg
14.5 when I was commuting to work. Gets 12 now that I work in town
is it legal?
Nope
what was your average MPG with no cats?
13.5-14.5 before it got cold outside
😂😂😂😂😂that’s burn out crazy long ik ya car was pissed at you
Crazy mechanic 74
What you do with the, o2 sensors
O2 bungs
I just ignore the engine light
@@ThatDrummerBen I would think it would run rich without o2 sensors
@@TheUndertoe in an old vehicle like that, the downstream o2’s don’t do anything besides verify that the cats are in place and doing their job.
you will get a ticket soon!
Made it a whole year never even got pulled over for it
@@ThatDrummerBen they’re fairly quiet when your not on the throttle even so just say you haven’t got around to replacing the rotten of muffler might get away with it
What size pipes?
1 7/8” off the manifolds (factory size) then it stepped up to 2” and then 2 1/4”
Do you get better MPG with or without?
Was pretty much the same. 14.5mpg commuting to my old job
i guess tips matter i got the same setup but 7inch tips
I wanna go with 5 inch bumper dumps or 45s but trucks not worth spending the money on. Just a rusty beater.
I had my 5s rand out to each corner of the bumper the 7s are out before and it doesn't seem as loud
Some of this sounds like a rod is knocking. 😢
Hi
Fast bear 24
lol u need mirrors
That video clip was from July I replaced that mirror not long after that
Sounds sounds so bad
God thats fucking terrible.
Did the straight pipes for fun, had the exhaust redone with flowmasters last summer. Sounds nice and clean now
Lol Trump bumper sticker.
