You and your videos helped me going from playing 10 minutes/match in competitive soccer, to starting and playing every minute. Keep up the fantastic work!!
Thanks for making this, idk if it was in response to my comment on the last video, but either way, it helps a lot! I was always told to draw a mental line between the enemy I was marking and our goal and get close to him on that. It's a good mental tool!
Thanks Dylan you are one of the best football/ soccer you tubers. Can you do a video showing the awareness of a CM or CAM? This would help so much. I've moved houses into a new town and I have trials in September. I think that video would really help. Great video!
Thanks for constantly helping me with becoming a greater person on and of the field. I would love if you could make a vid of foot work and acceleration from jockeying (explosivity). Im having a bit of problems with that cause to my bad heels and i would do anything to make my jockeying and reactions when a attacker accelerates away better.
Our team is playing a 4-3-3 holding. This is my first year of soccer so i was wondering what can i do, as a left back, to help my team when the ball is on the otherside of the field and how can I know when to drop and when too press. Thanks again for the video and the help.
EVERYONE needs to defend. Remember, if you want to be a COMPLETE player... ... you must play both sides of the game. Think about those 2 questions: "Where should I be?" "What should I be doing?" It's really going to help you feel more confident in your defending. Next, you'll just have to work on your individual defending technique. And I have other videos to help you with that :) Thanks for watching: How to defend in soccer or football easily explained ► How to play defence in soccer or football If you have any questions on this topic, please comment below. Does Eprosoke Training Program really work? I see many people keep on speaking about Eprosoke Training Program. But I'm not sure if it's good enough to increase your soccer technique.
ty very much. i'm trying to get in a team again, i stopped with football at my 12 because of a injury, i'm 19 now, am i able to get in a team, so yes? what shall a focus on? Greetings from Belgium
Is it sometimes better to show the player with the ball inside towards others players ? As in not down the line but into a crowded midfield or defensive area ?
when you explain sofisticated info to a lame man and he understand then you know you have done a great job. in this case you did it well. well done. do you have IG.
Good advice but problem is that all the famous boys of the class play one man army and pass the ball between themselves. I hardly get 5 to 6 times to defeat the ball. There is no unity in our class.
I need some help. (Nothing I say here is to brag. It is just some background info) So I play soccer for PDA (a top 10 team in my state; New Jersey). I play as a left back because I'm one of the fastest on the team. I make runs up and down the field and put some pretty good crosses in. I used to play for a travel team for my town before we split and had good dribbling then.
I got injured with a torn meniscus that summer and starting playing 5 months later. It's a year later and I'm playing preseason with my high school going for varsity as a sophomore. I'm put as an outside mid and striker. In practices my dribbling is good but then i fuck up in games (I played a summer league with the team).
+Will J. If you saw it says I was put as an outside mid and striker. I did not choose. I'm fast so they needed someone like that attacking. We have a plethora of outisde backs
+Colin Vogel soo even though you don't play that position and you would do better at back and your ball control isn't up to par...he still puts you there? Nonetheless he has videos for ball control and dribbling skills
I've played 5 aside for a few years and on the defensive side of the game I'm pretty good. I played for a club team and I could read the game pretty easily. However when I come to play for my school team its so much harder for me to get into the right positions. As a one on one defender I'm solid but on fast breaks and counters I just get blown by. I play holding midfield for my team and I used to start but as time has gone on I've been losing more and more playtime because of how volnurable I am on the break any suggestions? My main problem that I've seen is I don't know when to back off or pressure the ball. When I try to contain I usually get dragged out of position but when I try to close down the attacker I end up getting taken out of the play with a simple pass or if I try to close down the pass I allow them to run at my defenders. Help?!?
I reckon you are overcommitted when pressing. Don’t thrown yourself out. Keep light footed. And when a player passed the ball he usually run inside behind you to receive the ball again. Do your best to keep your pace up and position yourself in front of him.
Dylan pls help My dream to play pro... I'm a senior and 17years old playing Highschool soccer in California I've been having so many problems trying to get noticed I always have ride problems money problems etc. that ruined a lot of my opportunities . I've gotten so much better I just need to get noticed but because of all the problems idk what path to take anymore! I wanted to play academy Couldn't... Joined a semi pro reserved team couldn't last long because of ride problems.. Now I have to change my path again But don't know which one would be best for me. Do I go for division 1 college? What's the best path for someone who's a senior playing for a Highschool soccer team can't play in academies or far away clubs no job, can't drive, both parents work, Pls give me a good path or idea I can take and stick with...
Your best bet is to try and get a scholarship for college. worst case scenario, you get a college degree and can get a decent paying professional job when you graduate. Playing pro is very difficult but probably playing college will get you noticed the most. but you have to focus on school because you are still a student and you have to imagine if you never become pro, what are you going to do? you should always have a backup plan, and playing in college is a good way to do both. If you don't have your life in order then you will always be stressed and it will make you play like shit. If you know that you have a backup plan if soccer doesnt work out then you will play better and have peace of mind and just enjoy the game.
That's fantastic to hear! I'm so glad that the video has been helpful for your child's soccer journey. It's incredibly rewarding to know that I've played a part in their growth and development as a player. Keep nurturing their passion for the game, and keep encouraging them to learn and improve every day. With dedication and determination, there's no limit to what they can achieve on the field. Keep up the great work, and keep enjoying those soccer moments together! ⚽🌟
HaydenYoshi I guess defenders can score, but I would focus more on defending. If you are playing defense, it's because your job is to defend and support the mids. If you want to score that's fine. as long as the other defense know what you are doing and the other defenders adapt to the situation you should be fine.
DarkCreatiions thanks for the advice. I kinda meant generally how to help out out on the attack because my team is in a total scoring slump so instead of just communicating with them. I was wondering if there was any other way I could help out on the attack? Definitely should of worded that comment better lol
HaydenYoshi at that point, just be the leader that your forwards need. If you are defense, you can give a long ball and see how they react to it. If you think they need help just go up when you get the ball. Tell your defense to come in tighter just a bit and tell them to communicate more. hopefully that helped.
i think you mean jockying which is when you basically dont jump in for the ball you have your knees bent body angled and you are directing your offender to a direction that would be ideal make sure you arent always jockying the point of jockying is to trap your opponent in a tight space or to force him to take a bad touch once he takes a bad touch step in and win the ball. hope this helps
Yeah, the guy above me is right, and another purpose is to slow the attacker down so if you need help, someone else on your team can win the ball. It severely limits the attackers options.
School season started last week. The whole summer I was working really hard doing a lot push-ups going to the gym everyday, I wanted to make my family proud of me my crush, but none of that happen the coach told me that I did not make it to varsity and I just feel down I really was working hard earing all right food and preparing for the season the results was way off than I was expecting, I just fell so down and shit.
Don't give up bro, the coach will see that your work in hard and that will be a huge factor to raising you up to varsity. And remember keep on practicing your technique and passes also.
Playing as a sweeper earlier this week, as the other team took possession, I yelled at my right fullback to get goalside on his mark. He tells me to shut the f*** up. Curiously, we lost the game. Unrelated?
In opinion, unfortunately not. If u guys are backed up against the edge of the field than yes maybe u could force him to take u 1 on 1 head on but usually, there will always be space for him to charge through. If anyone else has an opposing opinion pls comment.
If you want to be a good defender, then you need to have a good reading of the game. I have put in countless hours just playing 5 aside games. I don't want to brag or anything, but I know exactly what they are going to do most of the time, and I am faster than most of the opponents I go up against. And don't be afraid to use a shoulder charge and get physical, as well as slide tackles, if absolutely necessary. But, as I have mentioned, just build up knowledge of the game.

Great advice...getting back to position is a fundamental yet difficult task for many. The key is stamina.

Just say goalside. Inside is redundant, if you're between him and the goal.

Is there a way to prevent an attacker from just exploding of the side of you, so that you have to catch up to them?
If you know they're faster, stay a little bit behind him so if he tries to run around you, you have a head start
+Richard Quito Well yeah, but is there a way to make sure that they don't run around in the first place.
