Seeing these route building tutorials just make me want to forge ahead with my current project: the North Western Railway (aka "Sodor"). I'll have to wait for that narrow gauge line that's been mentioned on Engine-Driver to finish it in order to model the Skarloey Railway.

I know this is an old video, however, at the beginning as you were trying to do snap to track, you have to uncheck the snap to terrain magnet option and only have snap to track magnet selected.

I plan on making a CSX route and depending on how it goes, I would either do a real route what actually runs by my house, or a fantasy route. Either way I'll have to let you know when I am done with it. Also going to wait for the summer sale to get more routes for more details and such.

Good grief. I'm watching Matt doing it on second monitor, and it took me 2 hours to make a functional loop. And it looks like a potato.

Matt how do you get the ai to drive indefinitely? Actually that would be a good idea. N3V games allows you to tell ai Trainz to drive. They don't stop unless you tell them to by viewing their details and using the stop command. You guys should implement something like this in TS2021.

    Thank you Matt!
I know this is an older vid but I just started TS 2017 after buying it from steam. I was always on trainz but it looks that TS is WAY better. The editor has a steep learning curve and navigating is crappy. Anyway I do love your vids they are a great help to me. Now something is driving me mad. I created a simple route. Just one track putting a destination marker on both ends and a loco. Assign a driver to the loco and in the scenario editor using the stop at option created two lines with the destination marker as target. Starting the scenario the train is there but it won't start. Am I missing something?

I wouldn't say TS is way better... Trainz simply has a much more diverse range of freeware and payware DLC, and though the quality varies I've seen several engines, routes, scenery, etc. that are more or less on par with TS. Personally, I wouldn't be bothering with TS, were it not for Smokebox's Golden Spike DLC...
